Right, then: here’s a better look at the rat-infested sequel to surprise hit A Plague Tale: Innocence. Announced earlier in the year, A Plague Tale: Requiem does, admittedly, look like more of the same: you’ll be controlling Amicia de Rune, attempting to keep her (annoying) younger brother Hugo safe. The rich, period backdrop appears to be intact, with that supernatural underbelly.
It looks really good, and is on track to release next year for the PlayStation 5. Will you be walking through swarms of rodents once more? Light a torch in the comments section below.

Lovely! They can have my money as soon as they want it.
The first game was great.
I got super bored of this game but good seeing it having a sequel
I have the first game (ps5) but i must admit whilst i am intrigued by it i am somewhat hesitant too because its not the type of game i generally play so my question is this...should i play this or is it like one of those tv shows that everybody says is essential and turns out to be really quite meh..
@Northern_munkey If you like narrative driven games with some horror in it (and sharp violin sounds), then you shouldn't hesitate. Especially if you already own it.
I had a rat infestation had my studio earlier this year but I won't say no to dealing with this kind of rat problems again.
Day 1 purchase assuming I can afford it! Loved playing the first game via PS+.
Awesome. Liked the first one, and this one seems like a big improvement in terms of gameplay and visuals. I'm looking forward to it.
I put this game off for ages but when I did finally play it I was proper surprised by just how good it is. Looking forward to more.
Very excite! Playing through the first game & its excellent, loving it. I wish there were more linear single player adventures out there but the sequel to this is looking fantastic - looks like they’re pushing the PS5 hard like they did with the original. Wonderful evocative art direction & atmosphere.
Day 1 purchase.
Looks stunning.
Brilliant news. The first was such an underrated game, but a great story and game mechanics.
I hope they bring something fresh to the sequel.
Wow, I had no idea they were making a sequel!?! I thought this was just a rerelease on PS5 or something.
The first game was amazing. So looking forward to this. The rats remind me of the scarabs in the 1999 Mummy movie. Good stuff.
Thought this was a Xbox exclusive? Good to see it isnt. Defo picking this up
I played the first section and then my heart sank when I realised the whole game was going to be an escort mission.
@Rhaoulos cool i'll get round to it at some point then..cheers..👊
The original was a really pleasant surprise for me this year (I played it when it came to PS+) and this looks great.
@MyThoughts31 It's not but it does launch on Game Pass
loved the first one... this one is a definite preorder for me no question! please take my money.
Oh yeah very excited. I loved the original so this is definitely a day one for me! Among my most anticipated for next year.
@Northern_munkey Honestly if you already have it, and like narrative games, then just give it a go. It's generally well praised but a bit Marmite for some.
Personally I LOVED it, while not without it's flaws it kept me engaged during it's 10-15 hour playtime, though it does start a little slow.
This will be an instant buy for me if it's at least as good.
Day 1! Loved the first game so much I need more
There's a haunting quality about this new trailer...
It perfectly encapsulates the feel of the first game, if not driving it even further.
What resonates so deeply with me from the first game is the beautiful story between Amicia and her younger brother Hugo. Here's a girl whose innocence has been shattered by an unspeakable act of violence, one after another. She then has to grow up, enough to be a shield against the harsh evils, for her little brother. There's something about that, witnessing (as a player) a character having to undergo a cruel, cruel world that brings out a deep level of sympathy. It's a genius narrative touch, really.
Watching how the past has clearly influenced the presence and seeing that register on Amicia's face is heart rending.
It feels a lot like how people describe a car wreck: you're powerless to look away, and likewise, I feel powerless to not be involved again in Amicia and Hugo's new nightmare.
@ApostateMage when do you say it starts to pick up because i dropped it for a min...not because I didn't like it but because of other games.
