GTA Trilogy will always be too expensive
Im saving my gaming budget for febuary/march now.
Considering the hype you were giving it before, those aren't great offers at all.
Strong sales.
Got myself FF7 INTERmission. Might pick up Hades too.
For all that is in this sale there is very little actually offered from it.
Anybody played disco elysium recently? Been holding off cos I heard it was rough at launch but seems an ideal time sink over Xmas if the bugs have been ironed out by now. Happy Xmas to all!
Far out! First time Disco Elysium is discounted! The dude abides.
As at @PenguinL says most of these prices can be beaten with a physical purchase, nothing really good especially on PS5.
I bought both MM, GotG & Disco Elysium cheaper as Xmas presents. Must suck if you have digital only!!
@CFDennett I have heard it is much better now, I can't confirm as it is a Xmas present coming to me and haven't tried it yet but I really can't wait to jump in given the hype around it.
Wow they are awful...only ones half decent are Deathloop and Disco E..still £52 for Ratchet and Clank....just rent the game ..I completed it and got platinum in 11 hours and could easily be done faster
@Mostik yeah I was dying to play it but kind of forgot it existed to be honest! Hopefully it’s in a good place because I’ve got a bit of time off and would love to get stuck into it!
@TheDudeElDuderino Nah, this is the fourth time it's been on sale on the PS Store.
If you haven't, just pick up Cyberpunk 2077.
The must buy IMO is Dying Light platinum edition (only 23.38 Australian Dollaroos).
I Also bought Blue Fire($16.21), Blasphemous($9.48), Steamworld Dig ($2.01)and Oxenfree (1.49)
For most people complaining about the deals are bad maybe you should try older games or indie games (they have by far the best deals). Temper your expectations on the big ps5 exclusives getting good sales. Stuff like Returnal and Ratchet and Clank are never going to have a 50% cut in price on the psn store as Sony has a monopoly on the digital store front and can charge whatever they want. Just go to retail if you're in the hunt for more recent titles as they have far better deals for recent games that aren't digital only. Happy shopping😊
Most of the PS4 games on my list are very new, so very few more than 20% off. I feel like in the next sale at least some will be 50% off, so I might wait. I Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments worth getting? It's only £6.50.
Also, DPA: House of Ashes for £16.50 might be good, but I'm guessing it'll be 50% off, eventually. Plus all these games are cross-gen, so I can always put them in the 'wait for a PS5' pile.
Agree with others this sale is pretty poor there was 1 thing on my wishlist that is on sale. Has anyone played Blacksad recently I know it was very rough at launch just wondered if they had patched it as £6.99 is tempting.
I had a moment yesterday when i could have got a new Playstation 5 , from a retailer , at RRP , with no bundle required.....and I finally had that Epipheny , and I didn't go for it.
The thing is , whilst hovering over the buy button , i rapidly went through the Pro's and Con's in my mind, something i hadn't bothered to do before, as this was the first time i'd actually had a chance to get one.
Apart from one or two exclusive PS5 Games and a bit better performance that my PS4 Pro ( which is less ugly and a lot smaller) , I could not justify getting it based on the fact i also play on a Razer Gaming Laptop , and some of those old PS4 exclusives are also coming to PC next year, that i still haven't played.
Add to that ,in the next year a lot of the new releases will also be coming to the PS4.
Funny how that one incident has finally left me relaxed over not getting one for now....in the future this may change , but not now.
D- ...see me after class Sony.
Surviving Mars is down to £4.99, always had my eye on it due to lack of sims on PS. Anyone know if its worth it without all the extra DLC?
@CFDennett pick it up its great. I played it at launch and loved it, playing through again. To be honest I didn't encounter many bugs first time, but seems fine now.
I may pick up dark souls 2, might as well add it to the list of fromsoftware games that I get to certain point and can’t progress any further🙈
Really tempted by Nier Automata, Roki and F.I.S.T. but just can’t decide!
Also really want Elden Ring so not sure if I should save any credit I have for that!
If anyone has any experience with the three games I’ve mentioned I would love to hear what you thought of them!
Weak sales to be honest, I expected more considering deathloop was on sale a few weeks back at that exact price it is now. So not what I was expecting.
On another note though, I picked up Kingdom Come Deliverance with all the dlc for peanuts. Takes some getting used to but I can honestly say that I'm engrossed in it, trophy guides say around 150 hrs+ so that's me till feb
Same sale prices as previously, which are mostly higher than physical. Really don’t get the point of these so called “sales”. If people really want to save money they’ll not buy games this way. I feel it’s become a way to try to get people to just impulse buy things.
There’s a couple in the sale that are on my wish list that i will purchase but as mentioned by others, physical copies can be found far cheaper elsewhere.
Deathloop, deliver us the moon, sonic colours, nier v1.1 and Kena’s bridge of spirits are the stand outs.
Maybe I will finally buy iki island dlc but anything else is not worth it for me. I;m sure kena and some other recent games will be a lot cheaper next year
I've spied some good deals, here's a few of them.
Blasphemous is down to £5, never seen it that cheap before.
Overcooked 2 is £5.
Huntdown is £6.39 (highly recommended.)
Turrican is 40% off.
Frostpunk is 70% off.
Stellaris 75% off.
Star Renegades is 50% off £9.99
Gynoug which was reviewed here the other day is down to £3.49
I can truly understand anyone's disappointment with this holiday sale. I was expecting more, not meh. Ho, Ho, No!
Need for Speed: Hot pursuit Remastered is €7.99 / 80% off, an all time low! Played this on PC back in the day.
Other high points:
The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles - €29.99 / 25% off
Cuphead - €13.99 / 33% off
Trover Saves the Universe - €7.49 / 65% off
Spelunky 2 - €9.99 / 50% off
OMNO - €13.49 / 25% off
Sonic Colours: Ultimate Digital Deluxe Edition - €33.74 / 25% off
Scourgebringer - €10.19 / 40% off (all time low)
I usually spend quite a lot in this new year sale but honestly a combination of a huge backlog and prettty weak sales means the ONLY thing I’ve bought is the FF7 Remake DLC alongside the PS+ PS5 upgrade
Well, guess that gift card I got is being saved. There isn’t a single game on here that interests me that I haven’t already played. I really wish Song and MS would start surprising us with the games they put on sale instead of the same games over and over.
Will casually browse the sales, but this sort of seems like they just re-did the Black Friday sale, for the most part. I’ll eventually get Voice of Cards. With all the not so great games I’ve bought on sale this year, I’m really contemplating staying away from the sales next year outside of big games and games I know I want beforehand
Celeste for £3.99 seems pretty good.
BTW for any fence sitting PS5 owning Terminator fans, buy the PS4 version of Terminator Resistance if so inclined, it's £2 cheaper then the PS5 version and comes with a free upgrade, hence making the PS5 version £2 cheaper then buying the PS5 version (£18 then £20).
Picked up House of Ashes for under £20. Happy with that. Very little else if interested for me.
@TheArt Yea I currently have far cry and guardians in my cart and am thinking of either hot wheels or cyberpunk leaning more towards cyberpunk at the moment as I know I'll play hot wheels for a bit then probably leave it. So might just chuck in cyberpunk in there too, for 20 I think it's worth a try.
dark souls 3 , code vein and star wars fallen order too
not much in it, jump force 5 quid and bloody zombies for 2 quid was enough for me
@Aciiiid cheers bud, it was on my radar for such a long time! Gonna pick it up.
@Camlambelot thanks mate, I’ll be playing it on ps5.
Absolute garbage sale ,no difference to the previous
@Deathmask_divine Basically. These sales, on PSN and even on Xbox, have gotten progressively useless. There's the occasional game here and there, but for the most part they are the same games at basically the same prices with some other games sprinkled in at prices they were before.
Not that there's not good deals, especially if you just got a PS5 or changed your mind on a game, but it would be nice to get some variety in these sales on both platforms.
Sekiro is £29.99 what mad alternate universe have I woke up in?
EH, Honestly the biggest thing for me is probably taking advantage of some vita games that are still crossbuy like Dont Starve and Skullgirls
@LiamCroft on US store as well? Oh, well, I was obviously not paying attention to the dude's story. I must have missed it or the discount was not this deep. Thanks dude.
i see hot wheels standard game is cheap, tempted by this, any thoughts if thats worth a go peeps?
@Jaberwocky crazy but same thing happened to me yesterday. Argos had so much stock and I downloaded the app and even got to the Paypal stage… but realised I don’t need it.
I have a Series X for the record. And I would like to play Ratchet and Returnal… but no rush. Maybe with a slim version and a price cut a few years down the line.
F.I.S.T and Great Ace Attorney Chronicles for me. Any other hidden gems recommendations?
£52.50 sale price? You're having a laugh SONY!! Surely you can't be serious.
For what it is and for how soon it is, Kena's a pretty solid sale. Went ahead and scooped it and NEO The World Ends With You (It's 50% off)
Hitman 3 Seven Deadly Sins is 40% off (in US) so grabbing that and finally biting on Disco. More than happy since still have somewhat of a backlog.
@Jaberwocky
When it comes the time to hand over £450 / €500 you will have a different perspective. I got my PS5 a month ago and it's not worth €500. I got demon souls in the sale for €45 and it is very good. Apart from that I'm not seeing anything. Exclusives are 40/50 on sale and 70/80 not on sale. If you value money it's all very expensive for what it is. I suppose it depends on how wealthy you are.
Kena is on sale for $29.99, $27.99 is the price with extra 5% PS+ discount. I know most people on here have PS+ but there may be some who don't.
My kid has PS+ b/c of my silly mistake but all of our money is in my wallet. 🤑
Decided to hold off anyway b/c by the time I'm done w/ R&C and Miles Morales and Ghost of Tsushima it will be time for Horizon FW. Don't usually pay full price for games new but I think that one will be worth it.
FYI, Demon's Souls is on sale on the Indonesian PS Store. With a 43% discount, the price becomes $42 (converted). It has English audio and subtitle.
Little nightmares 2 is on sale but I figured by now it would like $9 not $10 from $30 It's not a long game. Same with ghost n goblins resurrection which isn't on sale but $30 is too much for a short game. Far cry is on sale on Amazon right now for $22 for the physical disc. Definitely a better deal than the ps store. Deathloop $29 deal on ps store is fantastic for being a new game. I prefer physical disc unless it's a game with no disc and only digital.
@TheArt I'm going to wait for the PS5 version. Might be a while but that's the plan anyway!
Kena @ £23? Reckon I might pick that one up.
Im deciding if I want to get Dark Souls 2 and/or Sekiro (heard that was on sale but haven't verified.)
I JUST bought The Medium PS5 (fantastic!) and Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut PS5, and Death Stranding PS5 upgrade. I have quite a bit going on now but I need to complete my FromSoftware collection!
@Jaberwocky @K1LLEGAL You took my thoughts on the PS5 right out of my head!
For Pros and Cons, the Pro has a lot of Pros!
I'll have a look at the so-called deals later by using the PS4 Store as the web one still irritates the heck out of me.
This is just embarrassing. I was expecting great deals.... that sucks
@Daleaf It's the only game closest to GTA right now, the world is packed and beautiful. Every car's dashboard design is unique and realistic, your player's cars are uniquely designed. And it's got one of CDPR's trademark, designing pretty women who'd make you ditch all other quests to play their quest strand in the hope of getting them in bed lol 😉
@Col_McCafferty Mm well they say it's gonna be a free upgrade. Pretty sure the PS5 version would be locked at an expensive price for quite a while when it's out.
Much as I expected,Great Ace Attorney Chronicles only 25% off,(normally $60 in my region),so will be waiting a while.
Was hoping Xeno Crisis might get its first discount but much like the G'n'G inspired Battle Princess Madelyn never seems to score an invite! (Both 2019 releases)😔
Some nice indies here & there ala Ghost of a Tale, that I own already,as I do Turrican Flashback. Would love to know whatever happened to the digital release of Turrican "Volume 2" with the remaining games? 🤔
Did see Carrion at 40% off,so it might be tempting! House of Ashes kind of tempting too,but given the Dark Pictures Anthology isn't quite Until Dawn quality might wait a bit longer.
As for GTA Trilogy "definitive edition remaster", would need to be a lot further south of the $80 price point to attract my attention...or have the 45+ songs restored & not chug on either ps4/5!!😂 I'll stick to the older so-so mobile pretending to be ps2 classic ports!
Gone Kena for PS5 downloading now.
Fancy a little old school adventure, will wet my appetite for the big gun HZDFW in February.
There is still so much that is never on sale. Why does Shadow Complex never get reduced for example?
@Camlambelot thanks man. Super tempting so maybe I will just bite!
@Loftimus me too. Very disappointed with this sale.
Ps store keeps so many games at original launch prices, then oh look its 50% off wow omg lol.
When in stores most these games are already 1/3 the price at regular price too.
Getting disappointing, plus these relaunch of games with only dlc included, and director's cut ed. Etc at full price..
@TheArt yea I'm going to go into cyberpunk with zero expectations and hopefully will just enjoy it. Started guardians earlier as that had the lowest download size, I'm actually really enjoying it so far, only watched a bit of the film and didn't get too far into it, but heard a lot of good things about the game so that again was going in with zero expectations and really enjoying it. Thinking once I finish with guardians going to go on to cyberpunk and then far cry after that.
@Daleaf As a FarCry fan, even I can tell you Cyberpunk surpasses that in a lot of aspects. Matter of fact it's better than a lot of games if you go in with zero expectations or by Metacritic PC reviews because technically version 1.3 is just as fixed.
@Camlambelot appreciate the reply, ill have a look, also looking to get chorus, even tho not on sale 35 quid will do nicely
Wouldn't pay more than a tenner for the GTA trilogy already got the PS2 versions anyway
Nothing worth buying so I will save my money for next year lol
@Camlambelot that’s the plan, there’s certainly enough coming out in February to put it towards.
@Jtheripper yup, its a bit of a scam. Physical is just so much cheapier which is ridiculous considering the logistics involved compared to digital
@Ward_ting Nier Automata is absolutely fantastic, you won’t regret it one bit. One of the best PS4 games period.
People are saying the sales are bad...the sales aren't bad its just that there aren't any games worth it rn...all the good games people already probably bought full price...
Just nabbed Yakuza:LAD for $15 and Tales of Arise for $35 at GameStop. Head to a physical store if you can, earlier their website showed out of stock on EVERYTHING. Not a giant surprise.
Will prolly nab the FF7 DLC, but everything else is kind of meh on this sale.
Nice, I almost bought F.I.S.T. last night but forced myself to hold out for a sale.
PS is selling this sale short. There are a ton of great games on sale. Pillars of Eternity 1 and 2 for $25 combined, Torment for $9, The Outer Worlds for $20, Dark Souls 3 for $15, all the Warhammer games are massively discounted, Vampyr for $10, Shenmue 3 for $8…if you’re into RPGs this is an amazing sale.
Meh..... nawwwwwww
Grabbed Blasphemous for 4 quid, and it seems the perfect time to hop in and try it, now that there's a whole slew of dlc released- for free!
@Niktaw you can get outer wilds in store, physically, for a tenner... just scooped a copy up for an xmas present. (But ssshh on the price! 😉 )
@ChromaticDracula ds2 with all dlc is only 3/4 quid on sale on the ps store, so I'd absolutely recommend it! Solid game, with lots to keep you busy for a while, not alone because of the difficulty 😉
And if you've never played it before, it's great to try a few different builds (I hugely advocate 'hexes'!)
@J2theEzzo Hey that’s 2 votes for dark souls 2! I absolutely LOVE 1 and 3 but never played 2 yet. I think I’m gonna do it. I always heard from people that it was “different” so I always skipped it but I’ll get it for $10. How different can it be, I absolutely love the DS lore.
@ChromaticDracula hollowing works a bit differently, and it seems a little steeper in difficulty at first, maybe. I feel each iteration shakes up the formula a little, to be distinct, and that's fine.
There's a mysterious 'gender-reassigning' coffin, with no explanation and most levels are full of secret walls you can randomly whack for hidden treasure. Good times!
