Following many rumours and speculation, Quantic Dream has confirmed it is indeed making a Star Wars game. Set in the new High Republic era, it's titled Star Wars Eclipse. The game is said to be in early development and the footage above isn't gameplay, but here's the announcement trailer from The Game Awards.
"Set during the High Republic era, Star Wars Eclipse is an intricately branching action-adventure game that can be experienced in many ways, and puts the destinies of multiple playable characters in your hands, created in collaboration between Quantic Dream and Lucasfilm Games." No platforms were confirmed, but we think it's very safe to say the title will launch for PlayStation 5.

I’m losing track of what is game footage and what isn’t. This looked unbelievably good visually.
That's the best thing I've seen announced all year, love that trailer
@themightyant It's completely cgi
This looks amazing. I kinda wish they made a ‘prequel’ prequel trilogy instead of the awful sequel trilogy. This era is so much more interesting to me. But I’ve always preferred the prequel trilogy out of all the SW movies 🤷
Looks like it could be the best Star Wars game since Racer Revenge (the truly greatest Star Wars game… an opinion which few share) simply from a CGI trailer.
So disappointed their next game is going to be a Star Wars game.
OK. That looks dope.
The question is, will this actually be action, or will it be walking around and making choices and the action plays on the scenes?
I am not convinced. Will wait for gameplay.
Unfortunately it appears I can’t play this game. David Cage said “at Quantic Dream, we do not make games for f*gs” so yeah, hopefully all you heterosexual people out there enjoy!
This was the trailer of the night for me. Looks fantastic.
Trailer looked dope, looking forward to seeing gameplay eventually (and a release date).
This looks wow. Hope its open world action rpg with Detroit Become Humans decision making and story branching mechanics and maybe incorporate everything from all the games they've done so far.........fingers crossed as Quantic Dream have not as yet made an open world game and their sand boxes have been a bit on the not too big side in terms of size.
The store scene in Heavy Rain and the opening bar / toilet scene in Fahrenheit are unforgettable
Eclipse? Should have gone with "Degobah: Become Jedi"
Visually this is on point. I'm just curious what the gameplay is going to be considering this is Quantic Dream. I'm cautiously optimistic.
This was probably the best announcement for me. Really enjoy Quantic Dreams games. Looking forward to seeing how this turns out.
Look, I know people are kinda in awe of the trailers visual fidelity and all, but I can’t help but feel the whole thing lacks context at present. Not to mention it hardly resembles anything the so called High Republic branch has done thus far.
@GorosBat all games are completely CGI, what you mean, is that it's pre-rendered
@nessisonett he really said that?
I was really into this trailer and then saw Quantic Dream. I actually felt the hype leave my body.
@theheadofabroom You're a funny person
@GorosBat sorry if you don't like words to mean things
@ellsworth004 Allegedly (links below). But I have no reference on whether either of these sites are credible.
Regardless David Cage is a POS, there's far too many reports of him being a horrible human for it all to be conjecture, so it's in character.

Is Quantic Dream still headed up by a cruddy writer who is too much of an egomaniac (and a creep) to let better people do the writing?
On the bright side this being by David Cage and his chums means that Attack of the Clones may not be the worst written star wars script for long.
Lets hope they clean up their act first. It looks fantastic but i didnt hear so many great things about them as a studio maybe thats why Sony never took them aboard.
I'm confused why people are impressed with the graphics of a CGI trailer. This is not in-game graphics.
Quantic Dream: Making Star Wars even more boring: the game.
Disney are a ***** and evil company.
@Johnnycide exactly!!! Haha
i love Quantic dream games , but hope star wars will be a more direct control game punch button kick button etc without quick times only for starwars but il shall be looking forward to play this regardless.
@nessisonett he said that?!?!? Well I'm never supporting anything that nasty little twunt does again.
Very interesting to see this talented dev score this ip.
Starwars has rich tapestry of law now and could be a great place in which to tell s9me interesting tales....
@Blackjay For the record, I’m not trying to rain on anyone’s excitement here, I just feel personally I need to see more of it in the future to be fully confident. That and I’ve lately been despondent with majority of Star Wars things, thanks in part to how inadequately the sequel trilogy was handled. Even the whole High Republic era ( which this new game is admirably about) can feel like an afterthought at times.
One party particularly sore spot for me is the presence of what looks like yet another Empire-like faction, which last time I checked the HR was trying to avoid.
I am looking forward to this - everyone on the internet is a 'bad person' now so don't really care about hot takes.
