Occasionally, the data we use for this weekly article comes in a bit late, but this one really pushed the envelope. UK Sales Charts, on a Friday? Anyone would think it's nearly Christmas with this lax approach. (We're sure everyone worked very hard, and thank you for compiling the data, and have a good holiday)
Anyway, let's look at the physical games sales from last weekend. FIFA 22 is in an unsurprising first place, and will likely be the Christmas number one. It'll be either that or Call of Duty: Vanguard, which is sitting rather comfortably in second.
Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales jumps back into the top 10 with a 9th place result, almost certainly fuelled by spurts of PS5 stock, but the release of the new Spidey movie won't have hurt its chances. Meanwhile, Just Dance 2022 is the only other PlayStation game in the top 10 at number five. Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, eighth last week, is currently in 20th.
Here's the latest top 10 in full.
UK Sales Charts: Week Ending 11th December 2021
- FIFA 22
- Call of Duty: Vanguard
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
- Halo Infinite
- Just Dance 2022
- Pokémon Brilliant Diamond
- Animal Crossing: New Horizons
- Minecraft (Switch)
- Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales
- Pokémon Shining Pearl

Wow, a Microsoft game! Despite Gamepass, too!
Miles Morales has had some impressive staying power. Nothing on the order of Minecraft or MK8, mind, but has become a bit of an evergreen title in its own right.
Also interesting to note that despite all the hoopla, COD is still probably going to bury Battlefield again this year. Even though 2042 was supposed to shake things up with its MP only and futuristic setting.
Does this include digital?
I think the bigger headline is that GTA 5 is finally not there.
Halo Infinite at #4 despite being free on GamePass….
And I take it this is just retail sales, so Steam, Windows and Xbox digital sales are not counted, nor Amazon sales.
Spider-Man Miles Morales is such a fantastic game. I'm pretty sure the demand for Spider-Man has never been bigger. And the launch of the movie definitely helped it a bit. (which is also fantastic)
Geez, Halo only at number 4? Has any Halo ever launched so poorly?
Seems like a safe bet it'll be out of the top 10 next week, just like Forza Horizon 5 only maintained in the top ten for a week.
Extremely disappointed that the title is "Crawls back into top 10" instead of "Swings back into top 10"
I’m really itching to jump back in for some Spidey side quests after seeing the new movie, especially with the incentive of the new suits in Remastered. My PS5 is still packed up from my journey between college and home, but maybe I’ll find the time to dive in this weekend!
@JAMes-BroWWWn but Halo and Forza are both available on GamePass which will have massively impacted their sales. So Halo at no. 4 is pretty impressive really
@JAMes-BroWWWn Halo is on Gamepass and the big thing what people buy it for is F2P and was launched weeks ago.
