Sony has today confirmed the Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, which remasters Uncharted 4: A Thief's End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy for PlayStation 5, will launch on 28th January 2022. The bundle will cost £44.99/$49.99, and there is a PS4 to PS5 upgrade path available. If you own any one of Uncharted 4 or Lost Legacy on PS4, you can upgrade to the complete Legacy of Thieves Collection for £10/$10. You don't need to own both titles in order to qualify — just one of them will do. However, the versions offered through PS Plus are not part of this offer.
A PlayStation Blog post also notes that the multiplayer modes from Uncharted 4: A Thief's End are not included in the PS5 collection. As for the graphical options available, there is a Fidelity Mode that runs at a native 4K resolution targeting 30 frames-per-second. A Performance Mode targets 60 frames-per-second, and a Performance+ Mode opts for 120 frames-per-second at a 1080p resolution.
"Thanks to the power of the PS5 console, the load time is near instant so you can jump into the action faster than Nate or Chloe can draw their weapons," the blog post explains. "Enjoy Spatial 3D Audio and know where the shots are coming from and immerse yourself in the ambience of the locations across both games."
"With the DualSense wireless controller’s haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, we’ve fine-tuned the rumble and resistance here: feeling the 4×4 vehicles roll along in your hands or landing a punch and then rope swinging to safety has never been so rewarding."
There's also a sweet offer that includes a movie ticket to see Uncharted. If you pre-order via the PS Store or buy the PS5 collection before 3rd February 2022, you'll receive a voucher for one standard ticket to see the film in theatres. "Must be a resident of Australia, New Zealand, UK, or US. Age restrictions apply. Ticket code delivered via email on or around Feb. 9, 2022. Full terms here. Stay tuned for offer availability in additional countries."

Obviously... this is my favorite series.
Happy to see that they have a $10 upgrade path instead of having to shell out the full price. That makes this quite a bit more appealing.
Interesting to see that they won't have multiplayer included though. I wonder if there's already a plan to shut the servers down on the PS4 side? I wonder if I'll have to uninstall the PS5 version and reinstall the PS4 version to play multiplayer? Odd.
Told myself I wasn't going to do it, but for £10 I know I will.
Just £10 to upgrade? Now that’s a bargain. I’ve still not played Lost Legacy, so definitely count me in! At £44.99, even the full retail price is pretty reasonable.
That is a VERY generous upgrade option. Especially since that side story release can be found on disc for super cheap!
10 for the upgrade is not too bad
What about Uncharted 4 which was part of the PS5 Collection Bundle?
As my stance on upgrades... I can't help but look at XBOX and see their versions running better with no upgrade fee - However I am the sort of person who likes to own the best version of a game possible on disc. So while a small fee for a digital upgrade makes me snotty I know full well I am happy to wait for a physical version to drop around £20-30...
I'm pretty excited for this.
@Vivi-Gamer It's literally stated in the article:
However. the versions offered through PS Plus are not part of this offer.
Wait, even if I only own Uncharted 4 I just need to pay 10$ to get Uncharted 4 AND Lost Legacy Remastered? Or am I misunderstanting something?
I bought both games back before they were on PS Plus so I'm definitely upgrading.
@Vivi-Gamer Pretty sure the PS Plus Collection is still PS Plus.
@Vivi-Gamer None of the PS Plus versions qualify for the upgrade, although you only need to own one of either U4 or U:LL so this is ultimately a pretty good deal.
Better than expected, anyway.
@mariomaster96 Yes, that's correct!
Very happy to see the $10 upgrade path included. Count me in!
@LiamCroft That's neat. Never played Lost Legacy and I wanted to replay 4 anyway. Definitely will upgrade for that price
Also - I guess everyone expected this to launch on PC simultaneously and that's apparently not the case (there's no date for the PC release yet).
Just for clarification: since I bought Lost Legacy digitally on day one, I get BOTH U4 and LL remastered for $10? That sounds too good to be true.
Edit: I see my question has technically already been answered. That's a shockingly terrific deal.
This is fantastic news for me personally, Just got plat on the first three games through the Nathan Drake Collection, and picked up Lost Legacy on Physical as it's the only one I haven't played. I was going to take a bit of a break before doing 4/Lost Legacy to platinum, so I'll just hang off until end of Jan and upgrade both of them for a one-off £10 payment via the physical Lost Legacy I have. Awesome.
I will probably do the 10 dollar upgrade. That seems fair to me. Assuming however that the upgrade is worthwhile and not a cash-in.
Interesting they are giving away movie tickets though. Wonder if that suggests they are not confident in it performing at the box office
No upgrade path for plus owners is pretty poor. Is there any reason that sony is treating versions of games given away with plus as lesser copies? Happened with ff7, greedfall, mortal shelll now this.
@Uncharted2007 Didnt they do the same with Nathan Drake Collection on PS4. They dropped the multiplayer component for U2 and U3 for that re-release
Is the Drake 1-3 bundle on PS5 or did they just skip to 4 and 4+?
@get2sammyb you owe @nessisonett an apology for laughing at them in September and getting this right. 😎
https://www.pushsquare.com/news/2021/09/fans_ponder_whether_theres_an_upgrade_path_for_uncharted_legacy_of_thieves_collection_on_ps5
@rjejr skipped to 4 and LL, but you can always play NDC via backwards compatibility
I'll buy that for a tenner!
For $10, i am certainly getting this.
@RBMango Yep, that's correct. Definitely a generous deal!
@Rob_230 Yeah but you can also just play these with backwards compatibility, U4 is included if you have PS+ and a PS5, so why skip the set? 🤷♂️
@get2sammyb so even if u got uncharted 4 though ps plus but Brought uncharted lost legacy u still qualify for the upgrade
@NEStalgia Just a reminder this is 4 and 4+, both PS4 games, not the 3 PS3 games or their PS4 collection remaster. You're welcome. 😁
@Ajfennell77 That's correct.
@rjejr I KNEW IT
@Rob_230 They sure did. Pissed me off to no end as I considered those some of the best multiplayers available due to the great co-op and arena modes. Uncharted 4's multiplayer was a shadow of what is was for the 2nd and 3rd games. Sad really.
I'm really excited about this, especially with the added haptic feedback. I can replay Uncharted games forever, they never get old!
Hype. I haven't touched Uncharted 4 since beating it around release. Guess I'll have to give it a replay.
For that price I might actually play these again.
I will bite at £10.
The beginning of next year looking crazy for PlayStation with this Sifu,Horizon Forbidden West, GT7, and ForSpoken with in just the first half of the year.
Having bought Uncharted 1-3 on PS3, 4, Nathan Drake Remaster and Lost Legacy on PS4, beaten every story, collected every treasure etc, I am not paying $10 just to play natively on PS5 when I can play 'all' campaigns via BC. I know that these two games can be played at '60fps' or Native 4k (as opposed to the 1440p 'Pro' resolution) at 30fps.
That's how I feel and each to their own of course. Great games, but I already have them, beaten them and can still play them 'again' via BC and NOT going to support Sony's business practice.
No wonder Sony were so 'anti' BC before they worked out a way to keep chucking out 'remasters' and monetise upgrades, even locking off 'PS+' (which devalues them in my opinion - No way are you getting the value of 'Mortal Shell' via PS+ as you would from purchasing) versions from 'free' upgrades..
I don't care how much 'time and effort' went in to the remaster, the remaster isn't made 'just' for those who already own the original, its also being 'sold' to newcomers to the franchise. It will sell games to those who missed out. I'd buy 'old' games I missed out on with 'free' upgrades for current gen hardware - its more 'consumer' friendly.
We already know that GT7 and GoW (as well as all PS5 first party) games will incur a $10 extra charge just because its on a PS5 which is basically ripping off those that have supported Sony by buying their latest hardware...
First hour or so of Lost Legacy there were a couple spots (trying to drive a car up a slippery slope and jumping on top of platforms in a timed order) where I got frustrated and jumped to a different game. Never went back but I did always mean to. Be nice to revisit the game now. I completed Uncharted 4 and it was great but probably would not play all over again.
Nice for those who don't already own both games.
Oh okay. The upgrade path is really fair. I own all of the games on disc as PS4 versions (uncharted 1-3 collection, 4 and the lost legacy).
I would love to play part 4 and lost legacy again with 60 fps. For 10 bucks this is a fair offering.
@nessisonett Goita hang on to those receipts. 😉
I'm surprised Sony didn't charge £70 for this, £44.99 and the option to upgrade for £10 isn't too bad of a deal but I bet people out there will be screaming the upgrade should be free. Makes the collection more appealing than it sounded before. Sony seems to just randomly decide prices on their PS5 upgrade games, Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut was full price while Death Stranding was about £40.
@BAMozzy if a smaller Dev like 4A can offer an upgrade for free, a substantial one too with fully Ray traced lighting, upgraded textures and 60fps gameplay for Metro Exodus then I see no reason why Naughty Dog and Sony can’t. At this point they must be laughing with it being so easy to take money from their loyal worshippers.
@rjejr It's just such a pointless remaster. I could see remastering the PS3 games that were remastered on PS4 for PS5 because...I guess... But why remaster a PS4 game that already looks as good as next year's new PS5 games that are really PS4 games? "We're selling this old game as a new game so that people that never played the old game can be advertised to as a new game, even though we already gave them the game for free."
What's next, remastering the barely a year old GoT and selling it for $10 more to do nothing but add HDRumble?
....Oh......
The only "pro" I see out of this is I own Uncharted 4 physically, and I bought Lost Legacy for like $15 on sale 4 years ago digitally, so this basically lets me get a digital copy of Uncharted 4 for $10.....not that I'll probably ever play it again.
@NEStalgia I agree w/ all of that so I can't even riff off of it. 🤷♂️
I think the $10 upgrade price is really just a cover for them selling 1 + 1/2 games for $50 when U4 comes w/ PS+ GC on PS5 which you need for this and LL is like $15. U4 is $25 if you don't want to pay for PS+. So that's $40 to own both PS4 versions new, or another $10 for the upgrade. But either way what does that $10 really get you?
Also, where's the NDC 1-3 bundle? Why put 4 & 4 1/2 on PS5 before those? Are they not going to upgrade those? PS3 versions may be hard to upgrade but the collection is PS4 so...
I know the world is broken but Sony seems to be going out of it's way these days to make no sense.
$50 isn't a bad price for this collection on disc for PS5, it will be $10 by BF since it's releasing in January, but do they really need the extra $10? Any why no 1-3?
I wonder what sales will be new PS5 vs. $10 upgrade? What PS5 owner hasn't played these yet? Well besides antimatter if he gets a PS5, but he ain't buying them now either. 🤣
Genuinely baffles me how many people are okay with the paid upgrades Sony are offering? Microsoft don't charge for next gen upgrades, PC has always had free upgrades when you beef up your hardware, why do Sony seemingly get a free pass for this? It's shockingly greedy
@BAMozzy.
Pretty much my view on the matter.
However, for a tenner I’m awfully tempted and that’s part of the problem. Sony know that it’s a relatively small price so a lot of people will part with the cash. Easy money for some for 60 FPS and haptic feedback.
No multiplayer, no buy for me unfortunately.
@Isle_Delfino_Man I'm also astonished how many responses are "thanks for the £10 upgrade path". WTF people.
MS, EA, SE, Ubisoft, Capcom, most indie publishers all offer free upgrades. Even 2k with Borderlands 3 and Activision with Crash 4 offer some of their library as a free upgrade. Why are people happy that sony are offering a paid upgrade instead of free like the rest of the industry?
@lumothesinner yeah for sure, don't get me wrong I love Sony games, but PC is my main platform and I've been playing the same games on increasingly better hardware for 20 years and haven't paid for an upgrade of resolution/frame rate. You'd think it'd be in Sony's interests to have more people play the PS5 upgraded games not fewer
How do I pre-order the upgrade?
Am I the only one reading this as you have to pay £10 for EACH remaster? The blog post and the picture ad state that "if you have the DISCS, you have to insert THEM in order to download or play the new VERSIONS." So you only get Lost Legacy upgrade for £10 when insert the Lost Legacy disc.
Sorry all, getting it for PC
I'll get them when they come to the Switch.
Unnecessary, and a rip off. Nice to see so many happy to bend over & accept this🤨
Jim Ryan could fart in your cereal for a $5 fee & I have no doubt you guys would pay up!
Not worth it for me personally. I almost never replay games I've already beaten. If there was some new content I would pay up and play again for sure. Oh well.
Wait, do you get the movie ticket voucher even if you are just doing the upgrade? I'd buy it then for sure since I was going to see the movie anyway.
@Isle_Delfino_Man - "It's shockingly greedy"
What, to charge $10? It might be a little greedy, but "shockingly"? Not really. That I think, should be reserved for situations that are actually severe like, for example, GoT charging $30 for less than what this Uncharted collection offers, or the initial Horizon situation where there was practically no upgrade option at all.
$10 is only bad if you compare it to those who offer free upgrades, but even then, it's not that much of a difference.
Also,
"PC is my main platform and I've been playing the same games on increasingly better hardware for 20 years and haven't paid for an upgrade of resolution/frame rate."
As a fellow PC gamer, I'm pretty sure I can say the reason for that is because most games don't get upgrades, they just have a range of graphics options out of the box the scale up to your hardware specs (to a point, obviously). That's quite different from console games, which have to pick a particular setting, and stick with it.
Well this makes me wish I hadn't traded in my physical copy of Uncharted 4 several months ago ("Oh it's fine" I thought, "I've got the PS+ version, why would I need a physical copy as well") but on the other hand, it should be easy enough to get a replacement copy, and with the price they're at atm, this is still a pretty decent deal (especially since I never got round to getting The Lost Legacy).
@FullMetalWesker my friend Skyrim special edition was a free PC upgrade, Hellblade got ray tracing for free just last week, the witcher 3 is getting an enhanced edition for free (free on PlayStation too) and the Witcher 1 and 2 enhanced edition upgrades were free and Rome total war 2 got the free "emporer edition" upgrade. That's just a few examples. Pay the 10 £/$ if you like and enjoy the game, but don't act like it isn't a rip off when PC and Xbox are getting the same treatment for free with no strings attached. Sony are just milking people for a slightly shinier game that they already own, upgrades should be free unless it's like Tsushima and adds legit content that wasn't in the base game
The upgrade price is very reasonable. I love the lost legacy.
@CKFilms I'd also love to hear clarification on this matter
@LiamCroft Is it a $10 upgrade for each game separately, or is it a single $10 purchase that upgrades both games?
In a strange way this actually saves me money. I originally hadnt planned on getting these - especially preordering. But i was going to get a ticket to the uncharted movie, but cineworld tickets run for over 10 pounds these days.
So essentially if i pay 10 quid, i get the ps5 upgrade for free and a cheaper cinema ticket than if i bought it outright. Its a bit odd but i'll take it
