The sequel to legendary Frisbee flinger Windjammers will arc its way to the PlayStation 4 from 20th January. For those of you who don’t know, this follow-up to the 90s NeoGeo classic is a little like tennis, as you defend one half of a court by catching spinning discs and attempting to fling them past your opponent. It’s fantastic fun, and this long-awaited successor has a similar artstyle to the critically acclaimed Streets of Rage 4.
There’s a great PS Blog post which digs into how the sequel was developed, and is well worth reading if you’re curious about such things. For the rest of you, the headline features include: 10 playable characters and courts, online gameplay, and an “epic” arcade mode with a variety of bonus stages. There’s no word on a price just yet, but we don’t expect it to break the bank – and, honestly, Windjammers is so good that it’d be worth a robbery attempt regardless.

The original was brilliant so this'll be a must-buy.
Another game on my wish list coming day one to Gamepass.
Sony really need to up there game, I haven't bought anything off the store in months.
@Smash41 Well it's not like you'd be spending a whole lot more if they made it part of their sub either, is it? 🙃
@Smash41 I think that speaks more about how GamePass is making people purchase less games then they used to. It will be interesting to see the long term effect this has on the industry and small gems like Windjammers.
nice, Day 1 for me! Loved the original on NeoGeo and the subsequent re-release years later. Hope the CPU is a little less impossible on the hardest difficulty.
