Update: According to VGC, the recent Horizon Forbidden West leak is probably real. Sources have told the publication that the full PS4 game — minus some missing art assets — is out there in the wild. This would suggest that the leaked version of Forbidden West is an unfinished build — perhaps a developer build that's somehow been pulled from Sony's servers. This would also explain how it's appeared so far ahead of its 18th February release date.
Again, it could only be a matter of time until spoilers flood the web. Caution is advised!
Original Story: Horizon Forbidden West is set to release in just over a month — it'll be here before you know it. But in the meantime, you might want to start being wary of potential spoilers. Supposedly, the PlayStation 4 version of the game has somehow leaked well ahead of launch, and off-screen images of the open world title have made their way online. For the record, these images look legit, but there's obviously no way to verify their authenticity at this time.
If these pictures are the real deal, then it suggests that Forbidden West is out there — at least in some form — and that could, unfortunately, mean that spoilers are incoming. As always, we recommend caution — even if this whole thing turns out to be a ruse.

Uh oh.
Aloy will come across a Tesla and drive it around like a Strider but way faster.
Source? Just trust me guys
I’m down for some mild gameplay spoilers at this point if there are some exciting new mechanics.
Do you think the internet will be so kind as to drip feed me tiny slices of info to whet my appetite right up until release date? No? No, me neither.
Right, I'll be getting my coat then ✌️
"A woman with muscles is the bad guy"
The internet: REEEEEEE
😂😂😂
Good thing i don't follow vgames related things on socials or youtube.
As ever Push Square, please take a zero tolerance approach - like you did with TLOU2 - in the comments section, and remove spoilers as soon as possible.
Oh sh**. If the story is just as good as the first one you WON'T want it to be spoiled!
Damn, will be a hard month. I'm sure people will leak the new machines
@Rob_230 We'll try our best!
Cindy... the tv’s leaking!
What will be more interesting we have the first games sale battle of 2022.
With Pokémon legends late January, Switch
Dying light 2 early feb, multi
HFW mud feb, PlayStation
Elden ring late feb, multi
Be interesting to see the UK physical sales over that period of time and see who stays top and in the top spots for longest.
Also with the multiplat games DL2 and ER platform percentages as there is no game pass to get in the way as these are third party.
I genuinely couldn’t care less about the plot of the first one so if this is the same then hell, spoil me all you want! I’ll just play it to blow up robot dinosaurs.
FFS not again 🤬
@LiamCroft I know. You guys are the best 👌 🙂
Oh boy. Instant flashbacks to lead up to TLOU2. Granted I'm much less invested in Horizons plot than TLOU but still hopefully if there's a big twist it doesn't force that kind of reaction again.
@Alduin Same here. TLOU2 was spoiled for me in a comment section of an article that had nothing remotely to do with TLOU. 😖
@Korgon you mean if...
!!! SPOILER !!!
...Aloy is killed in the first hour by a child of one of the (many) tribespeople she killed in the first game. And you end up spending the rest of the game playing some random character instead?
!!! END SPOILER !!!
Yeah, that would suck! 😉
@BritneyfR_ee
I would actually crack up if something like that happened 😂.
@Jemusu the story was fascinating honestly.
!!! SPOILERS !!!
Did you read the text datapoints or listen to the audio datapoints left behind by the ‘previous world’? It was a tragedy really. All that human history lost despite their best efforts to preserve it. But life still, uh, found a way.
The story was the best part of HZD imo.
@LiamCroft always do a fine job of keeping it clean from spoilers - never had a game spoilt on here yet - proper gamers even though to remove said comments they get it spoiled for them selves
@Rob_230 I avoided the rest of the internet only to get TLOU2 spoiled for me right here on PushSquare. They weren't fast enough to block some idiot who created an account with the user name "Joel Dies". They tried though.
All the same, games aren't movies, there's more to be had out of it like actually playing the game than just the story being spoiled.
@TheArt yeah, you and me both. I read exactly how it happened on here. To say i was annoyed is an understatement. That said, it didnt reduce my enjoyment of the game, nor it becoming one of my favourites of all time, despite what the haters think.
I agree though - If Horizon is anything like the first game the joy comes from the gameplay more than the story - although i am expecting Guerilla to have beefed that up for the sequel
the author @ShogunRok missed the most important info, this version is running on a jailbroken PS4 which is much easier to obtain than retail, that's the key info and you missed it and now I see people in the comments confused and not believing the news which is true.
@BritneyfR_ee I think a lot of people are playing through the first game in prep for this game like me, for the first time, so please avoid spoilers even for the old game. Your first comment was a joke spoiler, so when you post another one with same header, it's deceiving.
@BritneyfR_ee Did you know that you can tag spoilers? and more, using https://www.pushsquare.com/forums/ps_general_discussion/formatting
This is stupid as hell. The game doesn’t release to us for over a month and now we have to avoid spoilers for over a month.
If they want people to move over to digital, they should release it when it’s ready.
I understand the manufacturing and distribution contracts with companies for physical releases makes it so this doesn’t occur. Don’t come at me.
I’m just saying, I’d move 100% to digital if it made it so I could get a game 1 to 2 months sooner than traditional release dates due to physical copies.
@GalacticBreakdown Je Suis Désolé. Lo Siento. Ik Ben Droevig. Sono Spiacente. Perdóname.
I actually wasn’t joking in the first comment 🤪 It was more of a silly dig. The winky emoji was deceiving, I apologise 🙏
I’ll try to figure out how to use that blackout thingy. And how to insert a gif. New Years resolution.
The story and characters weren't the strongest point in the first game and I just want to explore the world and hunt giant monsters!
There where quite a few ***** here that spoiled the Last of Us 2 because they didnt like the ending so lets hope these babies can keep their mouth shut this time.
Scalpers have done it again and bought the must expense version ( horizon forbidden west regalla edition ) selling for over 400 on ebay.
@TheArt Same here i just bought it some people are real *****.
@Flaming_Kaiser to be fair though, it is one of the most shocking twists in gaming history. There’s no way it was going to be kept secret past release day (or even before, as was the case).
I knew what happened and I played the game at release. It was still shocking and I didn’t want to believe it (I still don’t). Non cannon! 🤣
@BritneyfR_ee But still why be a ***** and go spoil it everywhere here even in other articles. I had the same with some ***** child that told me the ending of MGS2 even when i told him i just started the game....
@Flaming_Kaiser it’s the internet unfortunately. Unless you completely stay offline until you play the game/watch the show/see the movie, there’s no way you can avoid spoilers these days.
Especially TLoU2 spoilers this long after release. That game was hella divisive. It’s bound to come up in conversation.
Tbf, I’ve played MGS2 and I’d be grateful if someone would tell me what happened at the end because that was a huge dose of crazy if I remember it right. I was just along for the ride at that point 🤪
You guys are gonna be so surprised how Aloy gets killed off in act 2.
@BritneyfR_ee I stopped playing the game and i still have to start the Last of Us 2 im waiting for amnesia to kick in.
Cue me no longer looking at comments in future leak articles.
Those screenshots look really clean. This game really seems like it's getting the most out of hardware that's more than eight years old at this point.
@nessisonett Most of these Sony exclusives would be improved if they halved the amount of talking in them and just allowed players to get on with the adventure. GoW2018 was good fun when it let you off the leash to explore, and HZD is extremely fun when it's not boring you with a pulp sci-fi story people have seen variations of in the pages of Asimov's dozens of times before.
@Ralizah Every cutscene is just a weird meat puppet doing a blank expression while Aloy breathes on them with her breathy voice. I cannot fathom anybody caring about the company people from the past and the 4 million audio logs about somebody pressing start on the murder bots.
I looked at the images guys; it tells us literally nothing about the story, but the visuals look very good for a PS4 game.
Uh some people
I'll never forget making the mistake of being on Twitter and hours into the release of The Force Awakens someone had created the handle Han Dies with a screenshot of Han being stabbed by a red lightsaber as the avatar. I've long since left that place so if this site does its best to remove spoilers I should be ok for HFW
@get2sammyb why the heck does this keep happening to new games?
@Rob_230 It will be the same formulaic game with a fresh coat of paint, like every Far Cry game. Not even sure what you could spoil.
This is only me I know but Horizon does nothing for me and I have tried it multiple times. So it leaking doesn't bother me, but with all that being said I hope the ones who were eagerly anticipating it don't get it ruined for them.
@Dezzy70 Pokemon>Horizon>Elden Ring>Dying Light 2 in terms o most sales is my prediction.
Removed - offensive remarks
@BritneyfR_ee I love how divisive a game can be before release.
From clips from a 30 hour long game. It's like reading the title of an article and deciding you know everything type of foolishness.
But I enjoyed LOU2 a lot. I liked Horizon but not as much as lou2 but neither were as good as red dead 2
The scars were not Christian but Anyway
@nessisonett LMAO, exactly, I'm just here to blow up robot dinosaurs. They couldn't spoil the game for me even if they tried.
And I do they've fixed those audio logs, because that was a terrible idea.
For the people looking forward to it, hope you all can avoid any spoilers, hate when games get ruined like that.
Personally, doesnt effect me, I'll not be picking it up. I found HZD to be incredibly boring in terms of story and padding. Gameplay was decent but not enough to keep me engaged long enough to complete it.
I saw a couple of the off-screen shots on Twitter - didn’t really contain any spoilers, luckily. The on screen text was in Russian.
I am obsessively replaying HZD again for the second time this week. I've loved Horizon since they first showed it, my mind was blown. I cannot wait for HFW.
Spoilers are no fun, I hope one day folks can understand that.
Once I got my head around the gameplay and taking down those techosaurs, I really enjoyed the story of the first game and spent hours playing it.
I don’t want the story to be spoiled but it won’t stop me playing it tbh. However; there’s so many releases I’m gonna wait till the price drops.
@lolwhatno Oops. I’ll be honest... I copied them from Google lyrics. It’s the intro to Madonna’s song, ‘Sorry’ 😁
@Voltan It's always them Russian hackers.
@lolwhatno I don't know what the original comment was, but in fairness, "disagree with gays" is still a weird and wrong stance. It would be like disagreeing with people being born with blue eyes.
In general, they release so many official trailers and gameplay videos in this day and age, that good pieces of a game are already shown before launch day.
Unless the people that broke Horizon FW release the actual ending, i don't expect there will be too many true spoilers. Even the 2 images they've shown don't show anything one wouldn't already expect of this game. But hey, you never know.
I usually follow only a few gaming related sites that i trust to post articles devoid of spoilers, this one included. And I recommend this to anyone.
Can't wait to actually play the game, 18 February can't come soon enough!
@Flaming_Kaiser Yes TLOU2 was spoiled for me here.
First on a completely unrelated youtube video and then here in the comments on an unrelated game. I've bought it but still haven't played it as a result. Will get to it eventually. Slightly hoping for a PS5 version at this point.
@TheArt you might want to put that is spoiler tags on the off chance someone still hasn't had it spoiled, else you are just doing more of the same!
@themightyant I think its so rude to spoil games even if they are what older. But here it where a few haters that went out of their way to spoil the game.
I hate this crap. Gaming is not just about playing games but also the hype that comes with following news, rumours, etc for all things gaming. Now I am probably going to avoid YouTube or use a secondary account for non-gaming stuff. I'm guessing pushsquare should be relatively safe for following gaming news.
@themightyant At this point anybody who really cared about the story has already played it, I put a spoiler warning prior but all the same I've used the tags now. So you and @Flaming_Kaiser bought it but haven't played it? I find it strange when people do that y'know but to each his own.
@Alduin i totally get that i luckily avoided every video every article about that game thank god thats still one of my favorite games.
@TheArt I care about the story and HAVEN'T played it.
Too many games, not enough time sadly. It goes onto a long list along with Sekiro, Persona 5, MGSV, Horizon Frozen Wilds, Monster Hunter World, Nier Automata, Hitman 1-3 and many, many more as yet to play.
I know you weren't doing it deliberately but there shouldn't be a time limit on spoilers in an open forum. In pointing out the idiots doing it on purpose, don't accidentally spoil it for someone else. 🙏
@lolwhatno taking the joke too seriously
@TheArt I don't see how you can, in good faith, be confused by this while knowing that many people have a backlog.
Either you haven't thought about it too hard, or there are some mental gymnastics going on which I don't understand.
This is without considering the fact that not everyone can afford to buy games at full price, many people have responsibilities that prevent them from prioritising gaming, etc etc etc
@Thechads9 and Abby wasn't trans. That was the joke. People jump to conclusions without playing the game. I believe a lot of tlou2 hate is because they hated listening tlou was the best game ever prior to ps4.
My bad if the joke was interpreted as a serious comment.

@lolwhatno " I don't have nearly enough knowledge (like most people) about this topic"
"Well that's up for debate and comparing this to someone being born with "blue eyes" is over-simplifying a complex subject about sexuality and human nature. "
Well this is why I picked out the first quote and responded to it. Awareness is important. Some very nice people hold some very nasty views purely on the basis of ignorance. And we are all igorant of something.
That simplification is intentional. Because trying to convince someone of something complex is hard and time consuming. But being born with blue eyes is not something we can control or truly change. Being gay, is again, not something we can control or change. And neither has an outward impact on the lives of others. Ultimately, disagreeing with gay people is as logical as disagreeing with blue eyes. It's purely a socially taught discomfort with a particular trait of another human being.
I don't take any of the internet personally. The problem I have is if there were laws and millions spent every year trying to stop blue eyed people marrying, or there were blue eyed people getting killed purely because they had blue eyes, and the response from someone was this apathetic "well, I disagree with blue eyes", it's less neutral than you might think.
I don't think it's people getting thrown to one end or the other, it's people just being more honest with their deep down beliefs.
@themightyant @theheadofabroom My point is why buy it if you aren't ready to play. If you were pushed due to a sale you know it's likely to get cheaper down the line, so why buy in haste when you aren't ready to play it. Backlog has also meant to me like games people are planning to buy and play in future not just the ones they've already bought.
@lolwhatno yeah, I saw that hahaha. I kind of expected that could happen, but I thought the joke was so fake they wouldn't.
@theheadofabroom @themightyant I am sorry but I agree with the art. Expecting not to see spoilers from a very talked game after more than a year it's crazy. Matter of fact don't use the internet then. Avoid discussions about games you haven't played. I have a backlog of 30 games and I understand stand you guys, but he can unintentionally spoil the game.
Note to take home: Your time management and responsibilities issues are not his problem.
If he asked you, and you were playing the game first time and he spoiled you, I get that or during the first FEW months, but you are the ones at fault here, not him. That's my opinion. You had more than a year. I don't think it's because of responsibilities up to that point. It's not a game you care about that much.
I've already finished TLOU2 but not sure why it was necessary to to mention a certain incident in the game in an article about spoilers for a different game. I consider it good manners to keep that level of detail to forum posts or articles that discuss spoilers. But that's just my opinion, I guess. Would suck if a game I have not finished was spoiled randomly in an article about a different game. Spoiler tags are easy to use and arguably create an environment where new gamers in particular don't get spoiled. Already have a couple friends new to gaming who left this site over these kind of spoilers. One of them was planning to play TLOU2. To each their own opinion though, I guess.
@lolwhatno well, I can see the conversation has moved on a bit since your last comment 😂 but thanks. No, I didn’t have to create a new account luckily - you can just go into your account settings and change it 😁
@lolwhatno You are over fixating on the biological aspect, and in doing so, missing the point.
Did you choose to be hetero?, no. Do blue eyed people choose blue eyes?, no.
You can disagree with people for aspects of their being that they choose. You can't disagree with people for aspects of their being that they don't get to choose.
Unless, you think it's acceptable for gay people to disagree with the life styles of straight people... which, for the record, I don't.
@lolwhatno ""Did you choose to be hetero?, no" Of course I did"
This lore needs exploring.
At what age did you decide to like women?, have you had gay experiences?, did you like them?
""did you choose to eat this chocolate cake over the mango one?" yes, you bet I did. I get your point tho, it's my brain who decided what I like, yes, but my brain is a part of me, so what my brain chooses is what I choose."
This is the bad comparison. I prefer chocolate over mango, but at no point did I make a conscious choice to like chocolate. I made the conscious choice to eat chocolate, not like it. Those are two very different things. I just tried both and liked one more than the other.
Like, I could choose to have sex with a man, but I don't get to choose whether or not I like sex with men. Or are we both in agreement that you could choose and enjoy sex with a man?
It's frustrating because I've been arguing from a stance that 'homosexuality isn't a choice', which you've pushed more towards 'homosexuality is biological', so I've been trying to pull it back.
@Richnj @lolwhatno Guys, this is completely off-topic. Let's nip this one in the bud now.
I can’t wait to see if they gave Aloy a personality in this one.
Time for me to go dark on this one then.
Its hard but remember to stay away from comment boards everywhere, even youtube and other news sites. Last of us 2 all over again but hopefully there wont be the massive hate this time around.
Actually come to think of it, i think people will be fine. The massive hate is what caused it for Last Of Us 2 to be honest
@lolwhatno It can be very disheartening to see somebody who has suffered in life and been at some point dismayed at the human condition choose not to indulge in the humor of living in this world and becoming so thoroughly intolerant in response. We all have to deal with the absurdity because none of us are perfect. Even when our own ego is clamouring for status and power. This is not any kind of statement about anyone on here.
It sometimes boggles my mind that my attitude that God loves us ALL is at one so unifying and also so offensive at the same time.
Removed - flaming/arguing
Sony have spoilt more than anyone could by showing some of the new robots anyway, so this doesn't really affect me tbh, it's not exactly award winning storytelling. Aloy will get in a scrape or two, meet a few tribes, fight a few robots, save the world, but only enough for there to be potential for another sequel. The end.
Seeing new bosses, enemies and environments in Elden Ring is far more of a worry for me personally.
Removed - flaming/arguing
I feel like I could use spoilers for the first game at this point. I remember really enjoying it, but the plot points didn’t really stick with me so much for some reason. Granted, it’s been what? Five years or so since I played it, but still…
I'm reading rumors of an expanded remake of The Order for PS5...
@Fenbops Aloy has a bit of sass, is a caring person, brave, misfit, sarcastic etc. I think you confuse her with Jin.
Removed - flaming/arguing
@Nyne11Tyme this is actually 110% real and sony took down and copyrighted the screenshots I shared and have been copyright striking everyone who shares them lol
@BRUTALSAM actually good news!! The game had all the potential in the world....ended right when I expected it to get going. Lol
Removed - flaming/arguing

@dudeAmarillo Thats exactly why the complaint was if you ignore all the actual complaints, like how they lied about Ellie being the only playable character and Joel being killed off after appearing for 2 seconds.
Does Naughty Dog just give people a script? Because this is the same nonsense being spewed on Twitter when it came time for damage control.
@lolwhatno How can I further clarify it? I don't know.
Im not Christian but some of my spirituality is based on it. I'm also not the best person to argue in Christianity's favour regarding what the divine nature is and what the divine nature is not. I think God can't be less than the highest ideal humans think of. He's not just a big one of us, he created the entire universe. I don't think he's impartial to any of the children(peoples) in the earth or in the rest of the universe but this realm has been so created as to offer negativity. For the sake of free will.
I can't see the opinion that God doesn't love us is in any way a moral victory.
@KayOL77 This comments section has already been warned once for going wildly off-topic. Any posts beyond this one will be subject to further moderation.
I hope it turns out that rost didn't actually die
@TheArt Im just pissed that some asswipes spoiled the ending and thats why i have not played it yet. Its like going to the movies and some f**k stands by entrance telling you the ending of the movie.
I'm tapping out. I thought I was respectfully disagreeing, but maybe it's too late at night.
One of the reasons that I dislike the era of modern gaming and the internet. Absolute idiots come out to play....
@InsertNameHere here the question would be ... damage control of what? I don't care if you liked the game or not dude actually I don't care about the last of us 2 at all I'm just making fun of people who ranted about a woman with developed muscles because they don't work up and feel inferior to that character and yes that is also a Twitter script 😂😂😂
Vg are entertainment dude, you need to chill about trying so hard to be the smart guy in the room.
@dudeAmarillo If you and others are fine with being lied to, that's on you, but it doesn't give you the right to lie about the reason(s) why people took issue.
Their last hope is to not screw up Factions, which should be hard to do, but we thought the same thing with the story and look what Neily Boy went and did.
Guys complain about always bringing up a certain game in all articles but they do it themselves. Jeez move on.
I personally didn’t get spoiled about HZD even after years.
@lolwhatno
Agree. We should be able to PM other users and I wonder why it’s isn’t an option. We’d be able to talk without spoiling or boring the rest of the world.
I'm concerned about hackers figuring out how to pirate the copy of the game. Game creators/artists should be payed handsomely for their efforts if the public loves and enjoys their creations.
not interested I will play the game & enjoy it starting to wonder about the aims of people who do this are they really gamers.
@LiamCroft Please remove Tesla spoiler in first comment!
@meltendo seriously though? People that are going to go the lengths of hacking their console and downloading such a massive game were going to do it anyways. Now they just get it a bit early without the final assets and bug fixes. Don't really care honestly, the people that were gonna buy it are still going to buy it and game is going to sell like hotcakes.
