Over the weekend, PlayStation UK announced a promotional deal that means you'll not only play the new Uncharted game, you'll get to watch the upcoming movie at no extra cost. That's right — if you buy or upgrade to Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection via PS Store, you'll receive a ticket to the film for free.
We've had a look at those terms and conditions so you don't have to. The game purchase has to be made via PS Store, or you won't get the ticket. The movie voucher comes after the closing date in the form of a code, which you can redeem at participating Cineworld theatres, either on the website or at the cinema itself. Oh, and importantly, only purchases made before 4th February will be eligible for the deal.
Oh, and it isn't just open to UK residents; the same offer is available to those in the USA, Australia, and New Zealand.
For those of us looking to play the PS5 remaster anyway, this is a pretty cool cross-promotion. The film, which stars Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg as Drake and Sully respectively, opens 18th February, so there's just a few weeks until the adaptation hits the big screen.
Will you be taking advantage of this promotion? Are you planning on watching the Uncharted movie? Let us know in the comments section below.

I'll spend a tenner upgrading for a film ticket. Good deal in my book.
Nice! I already have Cineworld Unlimited so can give this ticket to my dad.
Then he can watch on as I cry at how bad the film is and he questions my love of the franchise 😂
Its the whole reason i am upgrading my ps4 copy. Effectively means the ps5 upgrade is free plus i get a cinema ticket that is cheaper than if i bought it outright at cineworld.
I mean it suggests Sony has low optimism for the movie, but hey. It will be a fun way to spend a couple of hours, i'm sure
You mean if I don't buy the overpriced so called remaster then I also don't have to go see the awful film? Win win!
Ah shame our local cinema isn't a Cineworld as I might have taken the wife to see it and only had to pay for one of us. I'll have to weigh up how good / bad this is and decide if it's worth paying for two tickets
Well, otherwise nobody would go to see the movie. ^^
I do like Cineworld.
Too bad it doesn't work everywhere. Anyway, $10 is an amazing deal for those who only own one of the games. I own both and still think it's totally fine, can't wait to check out what they did with haptics on PS5.
Only Cineworld? What a disappointment. I'd expected there to be an option between different major chains like Vue and Odeon so people could watch it at their local cinema.
Will be interesting to see how this does, the huge success from Spider-man with Tom Holland might well entice more people to go and see it. Regardless how the movie turns out I hope it does well so that PlayStation Productions are encouraged to do more with their IPs. Though TLOU series is the real acid test cos I don't think PP had complete control over Uncharted.
It’s a great move tbh but gamers will complain about anything and demand Sony to pay them to see the movie haha
This sounds like they have a lot of faith in the movie 😅
@Keyblade-Dan Seems like a clever cross promotion to me. Bout time Sony started doing things like this.
Cool idea, but can’t say I’ve ever heard of Cineworld…
Personally I'm just looking forward to the end credits scene where Kratos shows up saying to Drake "I want to talk to you about the PlayStation Intuitive"
@FatalBubbles Are you in the UK? because it's one of the biggest cinema chains over here
No brainer this Friday. 10€ upgrade and the ticket for the cinema.
Nice! I was going to upgrade anyway, so it's a free ticket.
However this excludes Picturehouse cinemas which are owned by Cineworld, which is a little inconvenient for me. Do have a Cineworld nearish but it's a little inconvenient to get to and not the best.
@AK4tywill Vue is a fiver a ticket outside M25 or 7.99 in. If people can't afford that they shouldn't be even thinking about cinema trips.
Only have a Vue and Odeon locally so missing out on this offer, but that's fine. Vue is pretty cheap for tickets anyway, I don't mind paying for the movie ticket.
@MyThoughts31 Congratulations on missing the point so spectacularly.
@Keyblade-Dan No, sir. I’m in the states.
My nearest Cineworld is in Ely, 30 miles away. My local cinema only charges £5 per ticket, so its not a bonus I will use. Still getting the upgrade though. I don't mind paying a tenner considering the ps5 was still 5 years away when the game was first released. However, games that were made with both consoles in mind, like God of War and Forbidden West. Forget it. I have already paid £360 to play the better version
My local cinema 30 mins walk from me is a fiver a ticket and the nearest cineworld is about 30 miles away and over a tenner a ticket. No good for me as I will spend more getting to the cinema on fuel and that is before your factor in other people going with you. Good if Cineworld is your local.
Wonder what the take up on these free tickets will be? Not a figure that will be shared with the public I assume even if it is 99%.
A tenner for a remaster and a free cinema is a bargain.
@TuckNorris85 That is my nearest Cineworld too.
I was going to upgrade anyway, so the free ticket is a bonus. Whether I use it or not depends on the film’s reviews.
Nice ploy by Sony Marketers to ensure paid upgrades from PS4 to PS5.
Play the "new" Uncharted... sure... new.
Happy about the movie ticket though. Makes the $10 upgrade a little bit more worth it.
I'm part of A-List, so I'll be able to see the movie for "free" anyway.
Does "Cineword" even exist in the US? I thought we had two theater chains left, Regal and AMC, and half the Regals closed a decade ago.
@NEStalgia Regal is owned by Cineworld I found out. None near me unfortunately.
@FatalBubbles Ahh, that makes sense, then. It seemed wrong to believe the US would have anything other than a duopoly. Glad I'm not disappointed.
I miss the days of the little 2-4 room theaters. There used to be theaters everywhere. Once we moved to the 12-18 room format, we got one or two theaters per hour of travel distance. Last time I went to a theater was Return of the King lol.
I want to replay both of the PS5 upgraded games. For $10 its a no brainer for me. Movie ticket or no movie ticket! I really don't get the naysayers here. Is this about it not being FREE? If I get a ticket in the US I will give it a chance. I will judge it from my own perspective. I just wish Sony could had gave us a choice to stream it at home.
I plan on upgrading, but I've no desire to go the the theater these days. I just got over covid, don't want it again. Plus, the movie doesn't look that good. They really miscast the movie.
I'm getting a physical release, no interest in the film.
@riceNpea Very good deal!!
Just found out that they are doing this in Poland too... but only for retail pre-orders rather than digital upgrades
@Jacko11 have some faith 😆
@AK4tywill obviously its a deal with cineworld
I read the subtitle as "mandatory movie ticket"
Awesome deal, I'll definitely be taking advantage of it!
@Alduin Like the film is stopping a new game lol.
@MaseSco I only own Uncharted 4 yet I will receive an upgrade for U4 and PS5 version of Lost Legacy for $10 total. Then the movie more than makes up for the $10. Was going to see it anyway, so I'm basically getting a discounted movie ticket (movies are more than $10) and Lost Legacy free, plus, remastered version and upgraded U4. It's absurdly consumer friendly to only require the ownership of one game. Many ppl will get Lost Legacy for cheaper than it retails because of this. Not to mention the PS5 bells n whistles.
@Cornaboyzzz I would. I'll enjoy it for what it is. I can separate fine film and popcorn flicks. I have no need to keep some untainted image of a game IP. I'd rather more entertainment with the gaming IP I love than be snobbish and shun it because it's not Citizen K.
I bought the game uncharted upgrade before was out but haven't got my free ticket yet 😐 uk
