At the end of last year, The Ascent — currently on Xbox and PC — was seemingly outed as coming to PlayStation as well, albeit a little late. A Taiwanese rating appeared, more or less confirming a port to PS5 and PS4. It wasn't quite enough on its own, but this rating has just been backed up with another, from American organisation ESRB.
Spotted by Gematsu, the ESRB has indeed rated The Ascent for both PS5 and PS4, suggesting an official announcement is on the horizon. We'll keep our eyes peeled for it; the game garnered a pretty strong critical reception, so we're interested to see what the fuss is all about.

One of my most disappointing games of 2021. I was really looking forward to playing it and when it dropped onto Game Pass I instantly downloaded it. Only managed a few hours and deleted it.
If it comes before elden ring I may just be desperate enough to play it
Would be a great PSPlus game.
I was really excited to play this game until all of the negative player reception. Still looks awesome but I’m not sure I’ve heard anyone have a positive reaction to it.
Honestly, borderline unplayable game. Can't believe amount of critics praise it gathered compared to poor quality of actual product. In game modals look like un-styled windows popups, that's how bad it is. And performance is all over the place, or at least it was during first months after release.
Love the art style of this..one of the best looking games last year. Has its issues but then you remind yourself it was made by like 12 people. Impressive stuff.
@SoulChimera Sounds like me and 12 minutes.
It's a great looking game. Fantastic atmosphere. About time it come to PS. Ignore the blatant haters and make your own mind up! 👍
Excellent news
I liked this game a lot more than I thought I would. Def recommend trying it out of you have any urge at all. Worst case not you're thing.
It took me awhile to get into it but once I got into the combat I was having a decently good time despite the technical issues. The graphics are great for UE4 and the ray tracing added a great deal to the ambience of the cyberpunk setting. Unfortunately it launched in a rough state that somehow got worse through patches on the PC version and i had to put it down. If they stopped patching because they were busy porting then I don't think these guys will be seeing anymore of my hard earned money
What a surprise, yet another Xbox exclusive turning out to be timed only.
