Witcher 3 GOTY @ £6.99 is standard pricing at this point (whenever it's included in a sale anyway, which it very often is). If you're paying more than this for the game in 2022 you have more money than sense
The amount of Games on sales is always too small Imho. Excluding DLC/MTX stuff not even 380 Games are on included. Meanwhile on Switch >2k Games are always on sale
@LiamCroft heads up Sackboy is £34.19 rather than £43
GTA!
Not quite sure how to interpret the exclamation here.
I don’t really see any sales. Just reductions to their standard pricing before being removed from “sale” again. Would be different if the prices actually went down with every “sale” rather than just dropped to the same price at which I’ve decided not to buy 20 times previously.
Very disappointed by the Demon's Soul and Returnal sale prices. Its been a year so was hoping to be down to a reasonable price by now.
@lolwhatno That's included in this very sale.
Sony seem to be sticking hard to those limited first party PS5 discounts.
Sorry not going to bite. £43.39 and only a 38% off after 15 months isn't a trend I want to support. Meanwhile titles like RE Village which have been out for only 9 months are £21.99.
I'm sticking to my principles and voting with my wallet
£7.50 off for returnal isn't the greatest deal in the world is it - especially as newer games are seeing heavier discounts 🙂
@lolwhatno Not always the same Games but always around 2k Games
@themightyant Still better than Nintendo who still sell 5 year old Games full-price or 30% off at most during rare sales lol
@IonMagi Sure, but lets not have a race to the bottom!
Fight the good fight.
PSA: Cyberpunk 2077 PS5 native version is £19.99. Picked it up yesterday as I was waiting for the patches and native version to pull the trigger, how nice of CDPR to throw it directly on sale on all platforms immediately I very nearly bought the Steam version, but a/ it's 24.99 right now and b/ if I turn raytracing on, Trixx be damned my RX 6700 XT will fall over in a foetal position and cry itself to death (4K monitor, COULD do Sapphire Trixx upscaling I guess....)
FYI Evil Genius 2 is down to £22.49 so soon after launch....under twenty quid with discounted credit is a great deal imo.
Today is also the last day of the 90% off Ace Combat 7 Deluxe Edition. Hard to argue that £6.99 isn't a great price.
A few good offer but with Deathloop, cyberpunk 5 hour demo (thst i will prob end up buying) Horizon and GT7 in march i really dont need anything else.
Solar Ash with it's first sale! Was waiting for that
@Kidfunkadelic83 "cyberpunk 5 hour demo (thst i will prob end up buying)"
psst it's on sale until like the second of March, go nuts.
Sackboy! If you ever thought about it - do it!
I've recently been playing 3 person couch co op and I've been loving it - its a really well crafted game.
Yet another crappy sale, always the same when I've money to spend 😟
@shadow2k too much to play man, too much to play. The backlog of ps4 is way too long anyway not to mention the ps5 games ive purchased since owning one the last 2 months. I spent about 40 minutes of cyberpunk demo just messing around in the character creation 😂
@Kidfunkadelic83 nothing to say you can't get it at the sale price and buffer it into your library for later!
@shadow2k thats what i plan to do before a native ps5 physical version comes out that they want 70 quid for and all of the ps4 versions go up in price.
Will returnal ever go to £29.99 or less?
@ironcrow86 it’s shambolic the games at this price for so long. Sonys digital pricing structure is such a copy of Nintendo
Still waiting for a deep sale on Ghost of Tsushima for PS5
@Luigia it really isn't a copy of Nintendo at all
Take 2 examples-
1: Horizon Zero Dawn
2: Zelda: Breath of the Wild
one Sony first party exclusive, one Nintendo exclusive. Both were released within a month of each other (Feb 2017, March 2017)
Horizon Zero Dawn's all time lowest digital price? completely free, (not even contingent on a PS Plus membership) but even if we pretend for a minute that that's "cheating" you can easily get it for £8 digitally when it's on sale, which it frequently is - and that's the complete edition, including the DLC. The regular price for the complete edition, in 2022, when it's not on sale, is £16
Breath of the Wild, on the other hand? All time low digital price of £41.99. I personally only picked it up in December 2021, and I considered £32.99 (physical copy) from Amazon to be an absolute bargain - and you still have to buy the DLC seperately if you want it
Sony are being conservative with discounts for PS5 games because we're a little over a year into this generation. Nintendo are conservative with discounts because they're Nintendo - the two are not the same
@StonyKL I think Sony is trying to be like Nintendo and only discount like 20$ On their big games
@Luigia I think the less said of Nintendo's pricing strategy the better 😄
@danlk1ng good feedback 👍🏻
This is a good opportunity for me to recommend everyone use www.psprices.com. You can set up alerts for games you want and will be notified when they are on sale. You can also easily browse every game at a historically low price on the PlayStation store. I have a filter set up to only show me historically low prices with a discount of 50% or more and these are the games I typically buy. I'm waiting for Returnal and Demon's Souls to hit that threshold.
@LiamCroft, I think maybe an article about PS Prices.com is warranted to get the word out.
I'm tempted by RE Village at this price, but I'm saving my money for GT7 next month. Oh well, it'll be even cheaper down the line.
This sale has more quantity that quality looking through some of the deals.
Ys VIII for just over £15 is a good one I'd recommend though.
7.49 for Metro Exodus is a hell of a bargain I must say
Doesn’t seem like a great sale, but I want to take this opportunity to say that Ruined King is fantastic. If you liked Battle Chasers: Nightwar (also awesome) or just like turn based combat, you should play this. It is Battle Chasers, but with everything refined and even better.
@Luigia
Returnal is a new gen only game and it's stellar. How do people expect it to already go to 40 or even below that...?
@themightyant Yeah, it's really bugging me, too. What happened to 50% off sales?!
Don’t think first party AAA games will go under €40 anytime soon. NBA 2K got a pretty big discount, maybe it’s time to buy i don’t think we will see any huge graphic update anytime soon
@lolwhatno It's on sale now. And according to psprices.com, it's at its all-time low. Prolly not a bad time to snag it? Lol
@Fyz306903 They tried to pull a similar thing with the PS4 when it first launched. Sales were much less on first party titles for the first few years. Hopefully once the console is more widely available sales will start to drop further again. Voting with my wallet till then.
I think I might give Sackboy a try. I was also going for a better sale on Returnal...
@SolarSailor As someone who recently platted it, I think it's worth $50.
Then again, it ticked a lot of my boxes (visuals, gunplay, rogue like loop, sci fi mystery). If you're not determined to truly finish it, let alone platinum it, or are unsure if you will be, i'd say $35-40 is totally fair. It's not a game for everyone, despite the fact I think everyone should try it. It had its hooks in me DEEP for like 3 weeks or so.
@lolwhatno Yeah, you can't trust Google over a site dedicated to that specific sort of data.
I see psprices being heralded all over this thread. It's truly awesome and I only use the free tier.
@Westernwolf4 I do like Battle Chasers: Nightwar! I noticed Ruined King looked like more of that, so I had my eye on it.
@MFTWrecks
Yes, PSPrices.com! I have been preaching about it as well (and gg.deals for PC). I also only use the free tier. It's a great way to save money by setting a threshold and only buying games that meet the threshold. Sometimes, you have to wait a long time if you primarily buy games 50% off or more, like me, but not always!
If I wasn't such a stickler for physical copies there are some good prices in there, but the collector in me won't allow it
So many games, so little money
@TheCollector316 It is Nightwar with more character/story development and a further refined combat system. It is in the LL universe, but you need to know nothing about it to play. You are in for a treat!
@lolwhatno Happy gaming! May your purchases be cheap and your gameplay hours bountiful.
@LiamCroft You should do an article on the Turkish ps store. The prices on there are insane. Not just in the sales but regular/new release pricing too.
Gta definitive Ed - £20
Horizon - £38
Returnal - £25
Crash 4 - £13
Kingdom come deliverance - £2.97
@BoldAndBrash it’s been out almost a year and usually games get reduced to £40 or below after this time.
@nicc83 but you have to have a TURK account to enjoy at these prices.
@Luigia Easily set up, and you can game share with your main account to play the games.
My main account is a UK one, and I have Turkish, HK, and I think Indian accounts. I play everything on my UK account.
Last month I got Guardians of the Galaxy and Far Cry 6 for less than £40 for both
@nicc83 how do you fund the Turkish account to buy the games? Do you have to convert sterling to Turkish lira? Or can you buy Turkish PSN credit?
Sounds like more hoops and hassle than I can probably be bothered with, but the prices are tempting over there.
@MarkMarky there are a few hoops. But once you're set up it's easy.
There's a guide here
https://www.hotukdeals.com/share-deal/3882712
@MFTWrecks Yeah it looks amazing and I'm sure it's worth even $70, but I'm not huge into the rogue genre, so I'm not sure I want to take a chance on it at those price. Thanks for the input
I know I’m not alone…
I’d be spending money hand-over-fist on PS5 games if I could get my hands on a damn PS5 system. By the time I’ll actually find a PS5 to buy, all those full price games are going to be down to $10-20. Just think of all the lost revenue for the video game makers out there. Their revenues could be spiking, but Sony’s not been able to keep up with demand.
I got an email yesterday that GameStop has the XBox system in stock at my local store…it’s damn tempting.
@PegasusActual93 I got through Metro 2 on PS3 and partway through Metro Redux on PS4 and then couldn’t figure out where to go—and I was getting a bit nauseated from the FPS camera movement (which is why I don’t play many FPS games). I’m wary to pickup Metro Exodus for these same reasons. Does it have a map of some sort? And, is the camera movement going to be a problem?
Disgusting of Activision / Sony to put modern warfare on sale for £30 knowing all the bugs it has on a lighter note £22 for resident evil village is an absolute steal
@nicc83 thanks 👍
@jgrangervikings1
In game environments are generally much more open than the prior games with some levels being open-world esque. There is am in-game map for the open levels yes and the linear ones are linear enough that the chances of you actually getting lost are slim. Also aside from the same characters and a few continuity nods the plot is very separate from the prior games
@LiamCroft nintendo life and pure xbox have the online store, with a 10% discount off their respective giftcards, sometimes. Is there something similar for push square?
Extraction is already on sale. It came out end of January! I am never buying Ubisoft titles at launch ever again. Far cry 6, then riders and now this all go on sale literally 2-3 weeks after launch. Way to cheapen your products and your studio.
