Let’s not beat around the bush here: TMNT: The Cowabunga Collection is a dream game. The feedback from yesterday’s State of Play may not have been great, but Konami’s compilation was definitely a highlight – now it just needs to ensure that Digital Eclipse delivers the package with the kind of care and attention it deserves.
But you may be wondering, because there was no confirmation during the trailer, which titles are included. Well, fortunately we have a full list:
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Arcade)
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time (Arcade)
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (NES)
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: The Arcade Game (NES)
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3: The Manhattan Project (NES)
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters (NES)
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters (SNES)
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters (SEGA Mega Drive)
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 4: Turtles in Time (SNES)
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Hyperstone Heist (SEGA Mega Drive)
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Fall of the Foot Clan (Game Boy)
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: Back from the Sewers (Game Boy)
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3: Radical Rescue (Game Boy)
Wow, that’s an impressive collection. Unsurprisingly, it will set you back a pretty penny: Konami wants $39.99 for this, but it will be available both physically and digitally. It’s worth noting that, where available, the Japanese versions of many of the abovementioned titles will be available as well, so this is just about as complete as a collection as you can get.
In other news, some quality of life features will include save states, rewind functionality, button remapping, artwork, and even online play where appropriate. On paper, it sounds absolutely phenomenal – we just need the quality of the emulation to be up to scratch. Are you excited for this? Which other franchises would you like to receive this kind of treatment? High-five in the comments section below.

Dream come true. Never thought something like this would see the light of day. Day 1 purchase and I’ll be scarfing down pizza while I do it.
This is fantastic! That's pretty much all the TMNT games you would want.
Yeah, day 1 easily.
This is definitely a fantastic collection. Just wish someone would make a dizzy the egg collection as well
Best thing shown and a easy day one!
Cowabunga.... That's all I wanted to say
Definitely Day 1 for me. I'm guessing I'll buy the PS4 version to play on my PS5 so I can use my PS4 controllers for local multiplayer. I may buy the Switch version as a double dip as well.
I'm going to wait for sale, 40 kind of high.
Side note... for those wondering... there are three versions of Tournament Fighters probably because each version had an exclusive character. Secondly... because they could.
$40 is a steal for so many old Turtles games. Try buying them individually and $40 isn’t enough for one of the games listed.
@Don Very true.
@Don - Correct. My complete copy of Hyperstone Heist for Genesis is currently valued at $219 alone. My complete copy of the original 1989 NES game... $100.
Love that the Game Boy entries are included as well.
I have to say, Konami is doing a surprisingly good job finding competent developers to get a lot of their classic games onto modern platforms.
This is definitely among the better things Konami has done recently. Though I think they should have called it the CowaBUNDLE... I'll see myself out.
@get2sammyb - To answer the question of what other franchises that you posed (I assume you're the author of the article given the different but similar name), the only other collection like this that I would want is for Jurassic Park. Include the following:
@Uncharted2007 That is me and that's a really awesome shout!
Its a shame the 4p ps2 one isn't in but that is an amazing collection.
I want to play the arcade games, the snes, and hyperstone heist but it's a bit expensive at $40 since I don't want some of the game like tournament fighter, nes, and gba turtles
This is an incredible collection. I grew up with a lot of these so needless to say this is a day one for me. I remember the days when they were called Hero Turtles rather than Ninja Turtles and that's what makes this so special to me.
If it's gonna be £40 it's a day one for me, great value for all those games IMO.
Fantastic stuff. love TMNT in general. grew up playing some of these games. the Gameboy ones were fun back then, hopefully still as fun now.
Of course Turtles in Time is a classic amongst many folks.
> as for other games that should get this treatment? === the X-Men and Avengers side scroller beat em ups/platformers.
I recently bought a Turtle in Time copy for my Snes - Yes, I´m old school, so for me this collection is a dream come true.
I´m still waiting for the Capcom Belt Action Collection 2, with games like Final fight 2, 3, Aliens vs Predator, and the Dungeons and Dragons games.
If it was any other series, I'd tell them to take a hike for 39.99. But for this, that's only 3 bucks a game, and each one is a quality title. Now shut up and tell me where to pre-order!
@Uncharted2007 Each version of Tournament Fighters is its own unique game. It's not as simple as they have different characters the stories are completely different as well. The only common things they have is the name and they are a fighting game.
most likely worth it because you can't really buy the arcade versions of the beat em ups (you can spend a pretty penny on that mini arcade cabinet but not on eshop, psn store, etc.)
No Reshelled from the 360/ps3. Boo!
Kinda of a jerk move with the Shredders Revenge releasing this year too from anther dev.
nice list of games, unlike capcom who likes to break them up into multiple releases. that said, i won't be giving konami a dime. i can emulate these games PERFECTLY via retroarch, thank you very much!
#f**k konami!
I hope Konami would make a Gradius Collection too.
Oh dang, it comes with Tournament Fighters?!!?
YES!!!
Save states and rewind functionality too? Haha, now I can finally beat that annoying dam stage with the electric seaweed!
https://youtu.be/DqfRus5ePmI
About 3 decent old games for 40 quid?
@xshinox you can easily emulate them perfectly for free though...
When, when is this coming out? Even though I have horizon, Elden ring and GT7 coming soon - I want it so badly lol
That’s a fair price for me, some fantastic games in there.
Not really a fan of collections to be honest. There are so many new games to spend my money on. But I see this was well received so good for you guys.
It’s definitely day 1 for me. Never thought a collection like this would ever happen.
Just happy to see an extended list of versions/games (esp. the arcade versions), available to all & NOT paywalled behind a Strictly Limited physical version with near half the games missing in the digital/retail versions! (Looking at you Wonder Boy collection & Turrican Anthologies!😔)
Played a bit of the NES game via its rushed US C64 port but could never progress past one particular jump...might finally see what else was in it now!😅
Not to mention,Konami it'll be payback time for the $1 coins you stole off me!!😋
Guessing @JamieO is gonna need to win rock, paper, scissors vs the rest of the Push Square crew to review this one!😂
@Don
Because it'll be in the original packaging..
Great, I'll finally be able to play the arcade version of TMNT without having to look over my shoulder for gangs of dodgy characters. (I grew up in a rough town with an even rougher arcade)
@Deljo you saying i should steal from developers?
Have to day I'm slightly more excited by Shredder's Revenge as that'll be designed for the PS4 upwards.
I'm not sure what else you'd put in a collection, but a port of the other Konami beat-em-up The Simpsons Arcade is long overdue.
This collection is incredible. I've hoped for some sort of collection, say all the NES games and the SNES games or something, but this is as complete as a TMNT/TMHT classic games collection can be.
Now, how about a Metal Gear / MGS collection next?
@xshinox 🤣🤣🤣🤣
