After the disappointing GTA Trilogy last year, it’s fair to say there’s a little scepticism aimed at GTA 5’s upcoming remaster. We haven’t seen a lot of the PlayStation 5 re-release – in fact, last year’s reveal trailer was roundly criticised when it aired during a PlayStation Showcase. These new screenshots, debuted alongside fresh information on the port, look pretty clean, though.
We get some wide-angle shots of Los Santos both during day and night, some cinematic gameplay shots from the online mode, and a look at the story’s trio of iconic protagonists – Trevor, Michael, and Franklin sure are looking fresh. The release will have three graphics modes when it launches, one blending 60 frames-per-second with raytracing, which is welcome. Will it be a free PS4 to PS5 upgrade? We don’t know.
It’s been so long since Rockstar touched GTA 5 that we’re actually looking forward to this re-release. The label never even updated the title for the PS4 Pro, so if you’re playing the game on PS5 via backwards compatibility, you’ll have to endure 1080p visuals locked at 30 frames-per-second. It’s those faster loading times that we’re really looking forward to – hopefully it doesn’t take two minutes to connect to GTA Online anymore.

Looking good. I really can't wait for the higher resolution and better framerate.
It looks great and everything, and I really enjoyed my time with GTA V, both online and off. But personally I think asking me to devote my time to a nine-year-old game when Elden Ring, Horizon and Gran Turismo 7 are all out borders on disrespectful.
@Gremio108 Fair.
Looks nice but I'm so burnt out on GTA V now. I played it fully on PS3 and again on PS4 clocking up hundreds of hours on each version so unless this is a free upgrade I'll wait for GTA VI to come out.......eventually.
I’m not giving Rockstar another dollar until 6 comes out, 9 years is ridiculous. Even offline DLC for 5 like Ballad of Gay Tony or Lost and Damned would have kept me on board.
@Gremio108 fully agree. I like GTAV but havent played in years but my backlog is catching up along with new releases. Also a stack of ps4 games with free upgrades on my shelf
Doesn't help that Rockstar wont reveal a price or upgrade path a week before release. I noticed gtav ps4 is on sale til the 7th, the day before they release the price for the enhanced
Whilst I loved playing it the first time all those years ago, I'm definitely not gonna give Rockstar a penny for this
....... I'll be buying the game for a third time on my Series S 🤡🤡🤡 I don't play it as much now but I still like to boot it up for brainless autopilot relaxation. Sometimes like to explore the gardens of houses lol. Also enjoy delivering vehicles from the autoshop or finding those export vehicles. Woe is me.
If it's a free upgrade or at least just has like a $10 fee I'll check it out.
Will we get a free PS5 upgrade if we still have our original PS3 copies? 😂
Well I hope rockstar don't go back on there word when they originally announced this, that if you owned it you would get a free upgrade on the ps5
@XXDooBy Don't think they ever said that
I understand all that hate but to be honest, I still have not played an open-real-world that would be more fun. Maybe RDR2, except it is not modern era…
I will probably try this - hopefully it will not be a fail like Gta trilogy.
This pics how nothing.
They are highly treated and edited promo shots.
This game is out in 10 days and no real footage of gameplay.
It is clear it won't be good.
This game released back on the PS3. If it still can't handle 4k 60 fps then...then...I'm going to be livid.
I enjoyed it when it came out almost a a decade ago. But by now i'm so done with this game I doubt I'd play it even as a PS5 PS+ game.
Even small Indies on my backlog would get priority over replaying this cash grab.
With as much money as they make from these games, they must bring real manufacturer cars in GTA 6.
I never really got into the online side of it, but loved the single player campaign. It’s one of the few games I played through twice - first on Xbox 360, then again on PS4. Great characters, great writing, and a great open-world. I think I’m done with it now though.
@Casco i'm pretty sure they said something along that line when the ps5 was first revealed..
@Danloaded Yeah, I just know if I got it, I'd lose whole evenings to it and I don't want to lose any more time to it
Looks the same to me 🤷♂️
Looking ok-Good.
But for me it’s still a game that I finished 2013 on the Xbox 360. with so many new titles out, there no need and no time to play this again.
This gonna be $30
I must be on a different planet to the people willing to pay for this ... probably wouldn't even touch it if it was free....give us GTA 6 already
Nope!
This game is on my blocklist now.
Even if free, they can't get me to play this.
We'll talk when 6 is closer to release, hoping Roskstar got the guts to release a gameplay trailer and provide lots of juicy details way ahead of launch.
Current Rockstar is a shadow of it's former self, imo!!
To be honest, I didn't get that far into GTAV on the PS4 Pro, so I do think I'll get the upgrade to PS5. I am happy to pay £10 which seems to be the upgrade fees for any chargeable upgrades at the moment.
So does the V in GTA V actually mean 5? Or is it R* giving us two fingers as they ask us to buy this 9 year old game again (for the third time)? 🤪
@RubyCarbuncle add to that the pc version with mods, I'm totally burned out on GTA V too
@Aexurion yes they are, Rockstar that were part of our lives decades ago is no longer the same now
@PhhhCough
Why would Rockstar make it $30 when they know people will happily pay $60?
GTA 5 is going back to the top of the charts when this releases
I wish rockstar let us disable people who can't afford to buy the next gen I wish us latest gen can also have expanded enhance version of gtav it just not fair for us
Those screenshots look too good to be true, no trailer to accompany the screenshots.
Looks like BS.
We will find out on March 15.
