Update 18/3/22: It's not just Returnal getting the vinyl treatment. Milan Records has announced two other PlayStation titles are also getting their soundtracks released on record — Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart and Ghost of Tsushima (Iki Island and Legends).
There's no date given in the official announcement, but as below, we know the Returnal OST is pencilled in for release in June, so we'd expect similar timing for the others.
Original Story: The soundtrack to Returnal is something that flies under the radar, but it really sets the tone for the game incredibly well. There are some brilliant crescendos where the music meets the gameplay wonderfully. Fortunately, the OST is available on pretty much all music streaming services, but if you're a mega fan, you might be interested in owning a physical copy.
Yes, the soundtrack is set to receive a vinyl release in the near future, and pre-orders are live right now — although only via Amazon US so far. The album comes via Milan Records, a small company specialising in the vinyl release of anime and video game soundtracks. It also knows how to do cover art — we love this Returnal artwork for the vinyl sleeve.
The yellow-green record features all nine tracks across both sides, and it's set to release on 15th July. Will you be nabbing this Returnal record for your collection? Are you a fan of vinyl? Put it on repeat in the comments section below.

This will go perfect with my Astro's Playroom soundtrack😋
Now if only I had a turntable as this looks amazing!
Tempted by this. The soundtrack was one of the best parts of the game.
@render I just paid mine up over a few months. Lovely AudioTechnic one.
@nessisonett Heard good things about AudioTechnics. What model did you go for if you don't mind me asking? My music setup isn't anything fancy but would be great to add vinyl into the mix.
hopefully they'll include the all boss fight music this time too..(Hyperion, I'm looking at you😉)
@render The AT players are indeed pretty good entry level machines. You'll probably want to look at the AT-LP120 for that quality/features/price sweet spot. It's very solid.
I personally own a vintage (late 70's) turntable and it's awesome but I should probably take it to a shop for some maintenance
I don't usually put on ambient music by itself but I might get this because it's Returnal.
@render Mine’s an AT-LP120XUSB which really is fantastic. A few years old now but the records sound brilliant and all you really need to add is a pair of speakers.
@nessisonett @Voltan Oh I’m very tempted. I’ve got a pair of Tannoy bookshelf speakers hooked up to a basic Denon amp which is fine for the size of the room I listen to music in. I’ve got so used to badly compressed digital music that I bet vinyl sounds amazing in comparison. Thanks for the recommend 👍
Ohhhh sign me up!!!!
Whenever I play Returnal I often just leave it on the PS5's home screen just so I can listen to the haunting tune that plays. I probably spend as much time listening to that to actually playing the game.
Probably worth mentioning the artist that made the soundtrack - It's the Haxan Cloak if anyone is interested.
I am tempted by this, it's one the best soundtracks for a game ever and is so perfect for it.
I just recently treated meself to a great turntable, amp and speakers to specifically take me back to my vinyl days... much to Mrs Hypnotoad's despair... which is always a plus.
I'm getting this.
They're also releasing the music from Rift Apart and a 2nd Ghost of Tsushima album (with music from Legends and the Iki Island expansion)
Hmm, am I a fan of Vinyl???...Well I bought the complete Kraftwerk colour Vinyl collection last year for over £250 so I guess so I do LOVE that Yellow Vinyl & the R&C & GoT ones to I saw on Twitter today with all those odd colours to
Spotify is more than enough for me.
Gorgeous artwork, wish it was part of a special edition boxart or something
Returnal definitely worth having. better than Vangelis - not better than vagina though; let’s set that straight
These look really neat, shame there's no sign of these getting a UK release so far.
