Fun fact: Farnborough-based games developer nDreams got its start making content for PlayStation Home, including the virtual world’s first ever augmented reality game, Xi. Since then, it’s become a bit of a PSVR powerhouse, creating titles like Fracked and The Assembly. And, having secured a substantial round of funding, it’s now turning its attention to next-gen, PSVR2 titles.
“This is a pivotal moment for nDreams,” said a chuffed CEO Patrick O’Luanaigh of the $35 million investment from newly established firm Aonic. “As VR continues its trajectory towards becoming a truly mass-market technology, this is the rocket fuel needed to accelerate our rapid growth and take advantage of the many opportunities that continue to come our way.”
According to nDreams its “strongest lineup is still ahead”, and that includes “exciting future projects already in development, including next-gen games for the much-anticipated PSVR2”. We reckon a Fracked port is nailed-on, but it’ll be interesting to see what else the UK team has in the pipeline. Given its close historical relationship with Sony, don’t be surprised if there’s some kind of timed exclusivity involved here.

nDreams just makes me think of the Roy Orbison song!
Loved Fracked. Can't wait to see what's next from them.
@BeerIsAwesome Loved Shooty Fruity!
If only Sony could find some way to make PSVR2 backwards compatible, I would happily shell out a month's salary to get a PS5 and the new headset.
@__jamiie Wait, so i won't be able to play old games in this new PSVR? This sounds stupid, but I really wanted to play Drunken Bar Fight with my friends.. haha. and of course Superhot, Blood and Truth, etc. I was saving money for this, so i would only need to buy one VR.
@Gbarsotini I don't think Sony have announced that it definitely won't be backwards compatible but I think if it is, they would have announced it by now. It's down to the controllers and the different way your movement is tracked.
It makes sense to not hamper the new headset with the old PSVR tech but still a massive shame if you have a good selection of VR titles.
@__jamiie Yes, that makes sense. But they could at least make the old move controllers compatible with PSVR2, just like PS4 games can be played in the PS5 with a PS4 controller. Thank you for the reply!
@Gbarsotini The PS5 doesn't use the PS camera to track anything but I don't really see why Sony couldn't allow you to plug it in for the Move controllers.
Hopefully they'll come up with a decent solution and not make us re-buy our games with new and improved PS5 versions.
