Go Returnal! Although there's plenty of other great games named there as well. Having most recently played Death's Door I'd love to see that take at least one of the two that it's nominated for.
Mostly good selection. Glad to see Forza Horizon 5 in a lot of categories too. Sometimes racing games get the shaft. Gran Turismo 7 sounds like it should also have a place next year.
Also happy to see Death’s Door get some love. It honestly was my GOTY last year.
Glad that Returnal and FH5 are being recognized as two of the best games in the 2022 BAFTA Awards.
Wait - Battlefield 2042 wasn't nominated for best MP?!?!?!? HOW COULD THIS BE???? [Hard, brutal, deep sarcasm, there ]
In all seriousness though really glad to see Returnal get all those nods. GOTY hands down IMHO.
@BrainHacker
Good. TGA has been a joke since the beginning.
Glad at least some competence is behind the BAFTA awards. They've got more credibility than TGA for me now for sure
Genuinely hope Returnal wins everything... It is such an incredible game👍👍
Just an oddity… there’s over a dozen official categories, with Returnal dotted through two thirds of them… then you get to the “public vote” award, and not only is Returnal completely absent, but (correct me if I’m wrong) it’s the -only- category where Metroid Dread appears?? 👀😕
Featured in almost all but one category ~ Game of the Year. How does that even work?!
Last year was so weak looking back.
Updated with the two performer categories, the nominees for these were announced yesterday
I appreciate that they recognized a single player offline game (Disco Elysium) for “Evolving Game”. I assume this is due to the Final Cut having added all the voice work. Good to see these efforts recognized rather than just the usual suspects adding all the multiplayer season passes and such.
What year does this cover as I would have given Nier Replicant ver 1.21 a few nods - specifically for music and performances in voice acting.
I hope Guardians Of The Galaxy wins a few of those awards. Excellent game so far. Jason Cavalier as Drax would defo get my vote in supporting role, where the hell is Kimberly-Sue Murray as Gamora, though? All the cast are great.
Think im going to have to get Returnal. Been put off by the die and restart mechanic as i have other stuff to be putting time in to but i just keep hearing how good it is.
So many good games here but to me personally Deathloop is not one of them. I bought the game during a Sale and I just didn't enjoy it that much.
I dont get it... I played Returnal, it wasnt very good, I uninstalled it. There are MANY better games.
Go on Returnal, mess them up.
On a side and more important note we all know Jullian Champenois should have been nominated for his voice acting as Kim Kitsuragi in Disco Elysium.
Right!? Right?! Right!!
Kim has evolved, so has Disco. Join the cult of awkward smiles, and finger guns.
@Kidfunkadelic83 I recommend trying it, one of the best use of the DualSense controller and it looks stunning too with some satisfying combat. And with co-op being added if you can find someone to play with that will make it easier.
@Sam_ATLUS its the whole die repeat bit i dont like. I know its the stysle of the game being a rogue like etc but i even struggled with it playing Hades and i really, really dug the setting and art style in that game despite only ever getting to the 4th world. I just remember thinking that i could be making progress and seeing different things in other games instead of replaying the same randomly generated levels. I never play co op. I would with friends i knew but no one i know has a ps5 or if they do they dont play the games i do.
