Even if you stick solely to PlayStation news, chances are that you've at least heard of Lost Ark. The online action RPG has been a colossal success on PC since its full launch in February, topping concurrent user charts for weeks at a time and pulling in huge profits from its in-game purchases. A bit like Genshin Impact, it's been a huge free-to-play success story.
So why isn't Lost Ark on consoles? The game's been grabbing people's attention for years now, through early access periods and the like, but developer Smilegate has never committed to promises of a port. In fact, previous comments have suggested that a console version simply isn't something that the studio has ever planned for.
But the title's immense popularity means that involved parties are always going to be asked about potential ports — as is the case in a new interview from VG247. Amazon Games' Soomin Park gives a wishy-washy answer, but at least it exists: "If Lost Ark on consoles is something that fans really want, then I think it’s something both parties would consider!"
Of course, you could argue that there's already plenty of demand — and again, has been for years — but ultimately it's going to be up to Amazon's publishing arm. In any case, it would be interesting to see if Lost Ark could come close to replicating its PC success on consoles.

I want this on PS5 so badly. I loved Diablo with a controller. I'd play so much of this.
I usually hate F2P in almost any capacity but this game slaps hard. My PC is a joke but I’ve sat over some friends shoulders and watched, pretty wild stuff.
PS5 version would be amazing!!!
@MFTWrecks so I've put in maybe 20 hours or so on PC and the controller scheme is completely unplayable. They'd need to do a complete rehaul of the layout to get it worth while on consoles.
My roommate is stuck on this game after finishing Endwalker and I'd love if this came to consoles so I could play with him.
I would love a console version. Currently it isn't playable in my country due to a to gambling laws. For consoles there are ways around that so I wouldn't mind a console version
If there is one RPG I would want for consoles it would be Guild Wars 2 but I know that's most likely not possible due to the commands being made for PC
After all that fear talk. Amazon wants to be buddies with consoles.
Amazon and Google are out.
Amazon seems to be another third party publisher.
No thanks. We don't want it.
Yes this would be great. I also think all games should be on all consoles. More access more fun.
@bimboliquido It does feel very "We'll put it on Switch if people shout and give us free marketing" esque.
Which has been a thing for 5 years now.
For Playstation, that's fairly new, so depending who you ask, it's either a minor annoyance or something you're so vehemently sick of you want to vomit 🤮
Not really a fan of F2P games, even those done well. No matter how generous they are there with letting you play is always some stamina limit, some bar that refills every day, some cap that you hit that either slows you down and forces you to do dailies or grind other menial tasks over and over. Imagine if in Horizon, just to bring up how a recent release would go about it if it were F2P, to get a legendary weapon you needed to collect some form of premium currency, which you get like 3 of every day for doing daily quests like "collect 50 plants" "slay 30 dinosaurs" "complete this cauldron you already finished".
And then the legendary weapon is in some gacha that you have to hope you're lucky enough to get.
Getting this game to play well on a controller would be a real challenge. Some classes, Gunslinger for example, require some fairly complex juggling of a large number of skills.
Don't see why Amazon would put it on Xbox when Phil Spencer keeps saying that they're competing with them
This game is incredibly badly balanced for the first 5-10 hours. You're a golden god that kills everything in one hit, bosses maybe 5-20 seconds. It needs rebalancing, and the story is snooze worthy, but boy could it look graphically impressive on PS5.
No thanks not my cuppa tea at all. I'll stick to Final Fantasy XIV Online thank you very much.
Oh yes, please release another F2P P2W dumpster fire on consoles...
@Nepp67 guild wars 2 would be awesome on the ps5 but its never going to happen..the closest game i've found to gw2 on the playstation is black desert which i bought cheap in a sale and its pretty good although i've yet to try it on my ps5 and it runs a hell of a lot better apparantly..maybe i'll give it a go again at some point..
@Northern_munkey I've heard that's good but a lot of bad due to the grind
@Nepp67 yeah the grind is a bit of a bummer and i've never got my head around how the nodes work but the combat is brilliant and co-op is good too so all in all its pretty decent if you can get past the grindy bit..
Definitely coming to console at some point. Great game, almost 300 hours logged so far since western launch. Very addicting and very satisfying. It’s a culmination of game systems pulled from a multitude of mmos and ARPGs. Pretty impressive stuff. Only real complaint is the gear progression slows down dramatically towards the super end game, but this is at it should be so while occasionally frustrating it wouldn’t be as rewarding if it the progress came too quickly. Also the lateral and linear progression options you have are seemingly endless. Can literally play 16 hours a day and still feel like I wish I had more time to get things done. The lack of tedious activities is surprisingly low.
@Northern_munkey longtime BDO player here (even got the plat trophy for it).
All I can say is that the first few hours are the best online MMO experience you'll have...and then there's nothing but grind...grind...grind. Combat is fun but everything is tied to a gear score, you literally won't even be able to touch someone if your score is too low. Like, even if you stun and knock them down or whatever, the game won't register damage because their evasion score is higher than your accuracy. I remember back when I was starting out with a bunch of friends my small guild picked a fight with a veteran BDO player and he wiped our entire group out single handedly. Needless to say a lot of my friends dropped the game after that. It's really a shame since there is a huge world there and interesting exploration to be had along with stuff like building ships to sail the sea and training horses and stuff like that...but it always comes back to that broken PvP system and the fact that you can't turn it off outside designated safe zones. I eventually dropped the game because it was just too frustrating. For what it's worth playing it on PS5 does solve some of the issues but the random crashing was still there when I quit playing like 4 months ago. They really need to put out a PS5 version of the game but the devs are real slow to implement stuff and real quick to put out more costumes for people to spend money on.
@ATaco shame as i quite enjoyed it for a while too..
I play poe, d3, and titan quest...of course I don't want lost ark
Jokey joke
@Northern_munkey I'm not one to tell someone to stop playing something that they liked, just thought I'd offer my experience since I clocked nearly like 3000 hours -granted because the game forces you to leave the console on if you want to lifeskill- into the game before I finally managed to escape. It was like an addiction and I only enjoyed it because I was already properly geared up but newbies always got wrecked hard. There were definitely still some fun times there, friends I made from it too so I don't want to make it seem like the game is terrible. Just want you to know what you're heading into should you decide to head back to it sometime. 👍
I played it a little, all I can say is story is terrible, but combat is fun. I dropped it after 13 hours.
Oh no! This is going to ruin the PC brand forever!*
*J/K I hope as many of these ports happen as possible.
@ATaco i didnt think you were and i thank you for taking the time to point out that the game is very unbalanced once you hit a certain point in progression..👍
I would play it on my ps5 as a side mmo if they do bring it , but i don't plan on paying real money.
