Square Enix has opened an absolutely huge YouTube channel called Square Enix Music overnight. It features a massive amount of music from all kinds of games, with many tracks conveniently sorted into game-by-game playlists. You've got Final Fantasy, NieR, Mana — even Chrono Trigger. Given how many utterly superb soundtracks Square Enix has greenlit over the years, this is a goldmine for fans of video game tunes.
It's worth noting that Square Enix also has a significant presence on music streaming services, such as Spotify — you can find a lot of these same soundtracks on those platforms as well. But still, having all of these tunes neatly compiled on YouTube is bound to please loads of fans, and it's something that we wish more publishers would strive for.

Right, that's the Final Fantasy IX soundtrack on for the rest of the day.
Finally. I'm probably one of the only few YouTube Music Premium subscribers out there who can appreciate this.
Sweet. I tried Premium a couple of months ago and I can’t go back to the free version. Those adverts man. I’m paying for Spotify too but I’ll probably cancel it soon and stick to the YouTube App with YouTube Music as well.
Luckily, I can download any YouTube video or music. Will be on this soon
Amazing.
I have two more calls in work today, then this is going on.
@kyleforrester87 It's why I don't dare try the premium version as much as they keep trying to push it. It's not the ads themselves that bother me so much but I want Premium to for two features.
1) Being able to play in the background on the phone, as a music/podcast player
2) Not having to take the phone out of the pocket to skip adverts.
Honestly I use YouTube so much I should probably cancel Disney+ or Netflix and get it instead but at the end of the day these are minor inconveniences with workarounds. Free it is.
I hope we get excellent interviews with the likes of Keiichi Obake too.
@themightyant you get used to the adverts but once they are gone you really realise how intrusive they are. I only have Spotify and Premium subs in the go, I am leeching a Netflix account off someone else, canceled my Strava Premium and I haven’t had PS+ for ages.
I think the only reason I am still going with Spotify is I have all my playlists, but as soon as I can be bothered to get them on YouTube Music I’ll close that down, unless I find that YTM simply doesn’t have all the music I want in it, however that does appear not to be the case. Maybe the PS+ overhaul will speed the process of doing that up if it ends up being decent.
It was very therapeutic to type out the above 😂 I know where I am at with all of my subscriptions now!!
Damn. No Kingdom Hearts music. That's the one glaring omission in an otherwise overwhelming treasure trove of amazing music.
@RBMango Understandable considering the legal problems. Thankfully they’re all on YouTube already!
Still no way to listen to niers remastered soundtrack from what I can tell which is a shame. Some of the tracks sound far better than their original
that explains why I was struggling to find the Nier and Chrono Trigger soundtracks recently on Youtube
@nessisonett Oh no doubt. I fully blame Disney for their exclusion.
So basically Uematsu playlist. Yeah, I’m down with that!
people are acting like there aren't thousands of other youtube videos providing the same music and we are at the mercy of s-e to enjoy this art! unofficial? yes. who cares.
Very nice, Balamb Garden on repeat for me in the car.
i'll Be Listening To The Mana And Saga Soundtracks.
I hope they can put the English into the title as well as most of these songs I don't recognise at all.
I don't see Legend of Mana playlist yet, which are some of my all time favorites from Yoko Shimomura but I'd assume it will be added soon. It's nice that we can finally listen to these soundtracks on YT without any fear of removal. I'll be blasting them FF9 soundtracks for sure
