If you've been wondering what's going on with Tekken, it seems Bandai Namco's next move is not a new entry in the storied fighting game franchise. Instead, a freshly announced animated series from Netflix has surfaced, named Tekken: Bloodline.
As you can see in the above teaser trailer, this is an anime focusing on the origin story of Jin Kazama. While still training in traditional martial arts, his home is attacked by a mysterious evil and he's forced to flee. He'll train to achieve greater power under his uncle, Heihachi Mishima, so he can exact revenge. It'll of course culminate in the King of Iron Fist Tournament, and multiple supporting characters are teased towards the end. We see glimpses of King, Paul, Leroy, Kazuya, and others.
It's slated for release in 2022, so this will be something to fill the gap while we wait patiently for Tekken 8. Will you be tuning in for this series? Fulfil your destiny in the comments section below.

I'd never play the games, but the story seems interesting, so I will probably watch this.
Mokujin or we review bomb!
OH HELL YEAH!
Never been interested in anything Tekken outside of the games, but I'm hyped as hell for this
God I hope this is good Tekken is one my all time most beloved series it means the world to me so I'd love to see a great animated series given the era of the timeline we're adapting I need a Xiaoyu appearance PLEEEEEEASE I need wholesome Xiao and Jin friendship scenes
Looks alright, but that voice acting...
Tekken 2 was the first game we got on the original PlayStation and the series has always held a special place for me. Definitely excited to watch this!
Alongside Jin's origins, looks like it be based on the Tekken 3 story, while also mixing in characters from later TK games (considering Leroy is seen here), should be interesting.
Does anyone know the name of the animation studio behind this?
Big fan except for 4 and 6. Especially 5 dark resurrection played like a dream. Never played 7 though.
Btw... great tagline!
@naruball Yeah I really hope there's a Japanese voice over for this I want to hear Jin's game VA
Tekken anime films are good. Glad this isn't CGI heavy one like Ghost in a Shell SAC.
@Apfelschteiner Also never played the game before, but the series looks cool!
