State of Play may have been disappointing, but no one is disappointed with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection. Coming from Konami, in collaboration with Digital Eclipse, you’re getting a compilation featuring every single 8-bit, 16-bit, and arcade release – including their Japanese variations – published by Konami. That’s a total of 13 different games, and all their regional releases.
You can get a taste for the compilation in the trailer embedded above, but it’s safe to assume before you click on it that you’re going to want it more than a slice of pepperoni pizza. And we all know, like the titular Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, that there are few things in life better than a slice of pepperoni pizza.

I can totally see myself buying this day one and playing for an hour and never touching it again.
The best part of State of Play, and I’m serious about that. This is definitely day 1 for. Can’t help but notice that there doesn’t seem to be online play. Miss opportunity right there though.
I disagree that the State of Play was disappointing. I thought there was a lot to get excited about, including this.
Day 1 on Switch 😁
Don't say the SoP was disappointing Sammy like it's some cold hard fact.
This is great but not for ps5, I will be getting it for my switch lite
@Hundred_Hand_Slap It's Digital Eclipse, which is still a very well-respected emulation developer.
@shonenjump86 Watching the video it does say that you need a ps plus subscription for online multiplayer, doubt they would put this on the video if there was no online play! Which will be awesome!
Deffo day one purchase this
Dissapointing? We get 2 new JRPGs from SQEnix, Valkyrie Elysium and DioField. These plus Soul Hackers from Atlus should make for a great year for JRPGs on PS.
Oh, let's not forget Disgaea.
Where is Turtles in Time Reshelled?
I hope this comes to Switch as I’d rather have it there, but I’m all in on day one either way. I don’t see a mention of a physical version though, which means I’ll probably end up buying it twice once the physical gets announced six months after release
This website and most of the internet need to come to the realization what state of plays are so they can quit being disappointed. I quite enjoyed this one and I’ll def be checking out a few of the games shown
@Dman10 Thankfully, it’s a piece of forgotten history now
Can’t wait for the Cowabunga Collections! I hope the new TMNT game releases side by side with this! Give us a release date!
Amazing, my absolute favourite thing as a kid, still have the Hyperstone Heist cart.
This saved the show for me. Day one. I'm going to try and platinum it.
The only announcement that wasn't trash from the SOP.
This and that samurai game and Returnal update thingy made the SoP not to bad really and there were millions of games shown to. Saying that I am dying to know er erm what AAA SONY Exclusives are coming for next year because it seems there is nothing for 2023 and that can'tbe right???(maybe SONY are doing a Microsoft next year then) Very odd.
Wow, this is fantastic! (Though, I'd prefer it on the Switch.)
I can't not buy this. Turtles 2 on the GameBoy was the very first videogame I ever owned (along with Double Dragon 2).
Epic simply amazing be great to play Turtles in Time again.
Day one… like others… on the switch.
Can’t really say SOP was a disappointment like it’s fact. Some people like/loved it.
OH. HELL. YES. Shut up and take my money. NOW.
Day one and I'll it on all platforms. Digital on PS5 and Xbox Series X, physical on Switch.
Glad it's not just me who immediately went "that looks great... buuuut I'll nab it on Switch"
It'd be ace if Konami released the Simpsons and X-Men arcade games again in some capacity
I could have probably bought this three times over with the amount of quarters I fed into the arcade games
This was the best thing announced
That was the highlight for me and trek to yomi .as a huge beat em fan teenage Mutant ninja turtle with All the games made my day. Especially the arcade game and of course the sega genesis one.im definitely getting it.word up son
I am definitely buying this and I can’t wait to buy Shredder’s Revenge.
Sweet. Maybe I’ll finally be able to beat the NES game that I could never when I was a kid
Greaaaat 😀 ...on Switch.
I loved Tournament Fighters on my chinese copy of 8bit console.
I wish Konami would port more older games like Sunset Riders. I'd pay $5-$10 for that and they're clearly desperate for money these days.
Well this is a genuine surprise! Figured TMNT Arcade would've been stuck in licensing purgatory! Capcom, take notes, unlike AVP being stuck behind an overpriced arcade stick!
@TJ81 Sunset Riders is available,(at least it should be on likes of EU/AU & JP store fronts),via Arcade Archives, came out in 2020...about $10.50 Down Under,no psn discounts to date, but its there!
@Dman10 Probably dead and buried. I don't think it was very well received.
Definitely the highlight of the show for me. Day one purchase.
@Dman10 That was done by Ubisoft not Konami.
@Philbear82 ah yes, online play is confirmed for a few games on here. I’m happy about that.
I'll buy this collection during a 50% off sale, but I am happy for the diehard TMNT fans out there.
@Rural-Bandit : It has already been announced for Switch and the other consoles for awhile now.
https://www.gematsu.com/2022/03/konami-announces-teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles-the-cowabunga-collection-for-ps5-xbox-series-ps4-xbox-one-switch-and-pc
This was the highlight of the SoP presentation for me, along with Trek to Yomi and the free update for Returnal.
Sega, take notes. Release a better Sonic collection, like for example one having most of the handheld games, instead of the same early console titles over and over again.
Can’t wait to get this on Switch. 😋
@Rural-Bandit : You are welcome, and thank you.☺ I will enjoy it for sure.
Are you gonna tell us why it's too rad for Sony consoles?
@Robocod Cheers, I purchased some nostalgia today!
@TJ81 No worries! Been waiting for a sale...at this rate given the PSN's invite only system to publishers might just have to time picking it up between bills instead!!😅
