Perils of Baking, the gastronomic platformer from Lillymo Games – a one-man team at the time – is getting a fully-fledged remake inspired by the 16-bit era of Super Nintendo and SEGA Mega Drive classics. Predictably renamed Super Perils of Baking, the throwback outing has been effectively remade for Sony’s current crop of consoles – that’s the PlayStation 5 and PS4, to be precise – with a storybook plot to boot.
You’ll play as the brother of a chef who succumbs to the power to bring his culinary creations to life, and you’ll need to feast your way through 50 levels in order untangle the secrets of this potentially disastrous soufflé. The developer’s promising an accessible experience that’s relatively easy to pick up but challenging to master, and much like the firm’s past titles such as Habroxia 2, there’ll be various secrets to find – including a bestiary which, ingeniously, doubles as a recipe book.
The embedded trailer should leave your taste-buds tingling, but if you find your stomach rumbling already, it’s worth noting that this has been in the oven for a while, and will be served up piping hot on 3rd June.

Colin is a good dude and the team at the studio deserves all the success in the world!
You guys are awesome for covering Lillymo!
This isn't normally my kind of game, but I want to support Lillymo and LSM in any way I can.
Hopefully the physics are improved over the original.
Also, Cowcat is offering Demetrios Replastered at a discount for people that own the original, so I'll hope Super Perils of Baking has a similar upgrade path, but I doubt it.
They mentioned something in their episode today I found interesting. The ps4 version will have a standard fairly easy trophy list while the ps5 version will have a truly difficult one. Interesting there could be two distinct trophy lists like that.
@Milktastrophe If I recall he might have stated on one of the Sacred Symbols Podcasts that there was a free upgrade for anyone who owned the originals.
I honestly don’t think this looks great, but i’ll support LSM and Lillymo whatever way I can. Day 1!
I think pushsquare is the only mainstream gaming outlet that's covering lillymo games lol, that's why pushsquare is awesome 😃
While this looks okay, I'm actually hoping for habroxia 3 since I enjoyed the second game.
@BrockSmith They only deserve success with their games if their games are good.
Got the platinum in the original earlier this year which was my 7th Lillymo plat.
Will get this on day 1 to support Colin. Habroxia 2 was legitimately great, so expecting some nice iterative changes on this.
Gamer Battalion assemble (if you know you know)
@wiiware @Jacko11 What is remarkable about Lillymo other than it is part-owned by Colin Moriarty? It's cool that he's getting out there and making games rather than just criticizing them, but none of their games look anything other than generic. I would support Colin if he had a way of donating directly and not through Patreon, who I cannnot support on moral grounds.
@Apfelschteiner Habroxia was good and Twin Breaker was awesome.
I support him based on him being the most genuine guy in the entire gaming industry and i’m sure I don’t have to go into how the c**** on gaming tried to cancel him.
I will buy any Lillymo game just for that reason alone. To support Colin. Regardless of how s*** the game looks.
@Jayslow Colin has spoke about retroactively doing this with the other games they have already released, if and when they come to PS5.
I think it's a great idea and sticks into the trophy auto poppers!
Im sorry but who Lillymo Games so much goodwill i sont see that a lot here.
So many cooking puns.
@Jacko11 If you enjoyed the games, then great, but as much as I like Colin, I'll only buy his games when they appeal to me. It's not like Colin is struggling financially.
@Apfelschteiner I support them because I greatly enjoyed their coverage of the games industry (lsm) and their games (lillymo). While their games is not the upper tier of indie games like hades or others, they're pretty good.
@Apfelschteiner
I get your point, but the studio also gets an unfair lack of coverage because Colin has a completely misappropriated reputation/bullseye on his back.
I think Push Square are the only outlet covering it, presumably because Colin loves Push Square and reps it all the time, I mean that's what led me here originally.
So, I do think it is reasonable for fans to adopt a "buy no matter what" mantra with his games. Having said that, Habroxia 2 was legitimately one of the best 5 games I played last year, and I'm looking forward to this game off the back of that.
@pumpkin_head Maybe the gameplay is better than the artwork, but with so many games out there, I'm not drawn to this stuff. I only really like retro-style games when they are doing something that wouldn't be possible on the old systems.
I don't think Lillymo are doing such great work that they deserve to get noticed, but they are defintely doing better work than stuff like depression quest that got an unfathomable amount of coverage. I'm interested in hearing about the new RPG that Colin is writing, so I will be ready to buy their games as soon as one looks worth it for me personally.
