Quirky Japanese RPG Metal Max Xeno Reborn now has a release date on PlayStation 4. The post-apocalyptic title offers something quite a bit different, boasting vehicle-based combat that combines turn based rules with real-time movement. You can catch a glimpse of the action in the gameplay trailer embedded above.
Anyway, Reborn's out on the 10th June, so you've only got a couple of months to wait. Here's a quick breakdown of what the game's all about from the official press release: "Humanity is on the brink of extinction and the last remaining survivors look to push back against the machines. Half a century ago of war against the mother computer NOA has reduced even Asia's largest metropolis to rubble. Explore this desolate wasteland and battle your way through onslaughts of enemies. Salvage, modify and hit back using tanks, weaponry and faithful battle dog, Pochi, to reclaim a future for the human race!"
Tanks. Giant sand sharks. Battle dogs. What more could you want?

This looks...... Bad
Yeah.... no. Just no.
The original Metal Max Xeno was a lot of fun so looking forward to this remake!
Glad to hear news on this! Despite it's flaws I had some fun with the original, so these QOL changes look very welcome.
Nice! Maybe now somebody will release an English patch for the PSVita version woohoo!
This looks interesting, I like quirky types of games
"vehicle-based combat that combines turn based rules with real-time movement"
So kinda like Valkyria Chronicles? Could be interesting, but the way they've cut the trailer makes it look like a bad action game. They should have shown more clearly what the game is really about...
@UltimateOtaku91 It looks just fine... for PS2.
@Perturbator well, the story is awful, so that wouldn't get anyone wanting to play the game. The thing it has going for it is the tank customization and battles.
Yikes, looks awful. I'll wait for the twisted metal reboot.
