Publisher THQ Nordic is asking everyone to "save the date" of 12th August 2022 as it becomes the first in a likely long list of companies to announce a gaming showcase for the coming summer months. A press release notes we should expect "several, brand new games" to be revealed in new genres, covering both original IP and licensed franchises.

Two of the games included in the presentation will be Outcast 2: A New Beginning and Jagged Alliance 3. The former is releasing on PlayStation 5, while the latter is a PC title. The show will start at 8pm BST / 12pm PDT / 3pm EDT on the day, with a pre-show hosted by HandyGames building up to the main event. Other THQ Nordic titles that could show up include Saints Row, Destroy All Humans! 2: Reprobed, and SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake. You could catch up on the story of that final title through PS Plus this month.

Since the event is taking place in August, we know it won't be part of Summer Game Fest. Geoff Keighley has confirmed his digital replacement for E3 will take place in June, and won't stretch across several months.
