In a new behind the scenes look, Ashen developer A44 Games is presenting the latest glimpse at its new IP Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn. First announced a few months ago for PlayStation 5 and PS4, it'll arrive later in the year. This new trailer focuses on the world, which is divided up into three zones that can be explored freely. All have their own distinct feel and "architectural style", explains principal environment artist Steven Chen.
A press release expands: "Inspired by the nature and landscapes of A44’s native New Zealand, Flintlock is aesthetically diverse which not only influences the game’s visuals but also adds a depth and fullness to this brand-new world. From towering citadels to cavernous ruins and far-reaching desert sands, Flintlock is designed for exploration and rewards players who go the extra mile to uncover even more."
Finally, it's also confirmed A44 Games is using Unity's MetaHuman Creator to "bring their characters to life through highly detailed animation". Are you interested? Let us know in the comments below.

Looks great, hoping the combat is a bit deeper than Ashen. The combat in that game was so incredibly shallow, and became boring quite fast.
I loved Ashen. It was the first Souls-like that ever clicked for me. Can't wait to see how this ends up.
One of the few developers inspired by souls design that seem to really ‘get’ it. This looks very promising.
Looks like they are punching well above their weight, and the results are stunning. Let’s hope the gameplay is as good as the visuals.
Nice, these guys are talented and seem to over-produce when you consider their budget and man-power… can’t wait.
Ashen was great so I'm definitely ready for this one.
