The PS5 launched with a good range of media applications alongside the lineup of games, and it's steadily been adding more since. The latest app to join the fun is BBC Sounds, which gives you access to the BBC's range of radio, music playlists, and podcasts. It's available to install now.
"From today, listeners with PS5s can enjoy live and on demand radio from the BBC’s national and local stations, music mixes curated by experts, artists and special guests, and a wide range of award-winning podcasts," reads the press release.
There's obviously a wealth of stuff to listen to via your PS5, whether you enjoy Radio 1's breakfast show of a morning, want to chill out with a hand-picked playlist of relaxing tunes, or fancy catching up on your favourite podcast. BBC 6 Music's old Adam and Joe podcasts aren't on there, though, which is a crying shame.
Anyway, will you make use of BBC Sounds on PS5? Tune into the comments section below.

Just as Kermode and Mayo have left, nice timing BBC.
Does mean can listen to BBC's gaming podcast press x to continue whilst playing ! Recommended listening folks
@lolwhatno Just PS5 mentioned in the press release.
@lolwhatno - Spotify has plenty of podcast channels.
I wish that Sony would bring a media player to PS5 like they did with the PS4.
Is that true you can't use it in the background while gaming? If so, that's slightly pointless putting it on PS5. As you would have to leave your TV on a static screen. May as well use a smartphone or Bluetooth speaker.
Just wondering, will the BBC app be available in the US?
@lolwhatno Anghami (alternative for Spotify) does that too. Kinda sucks since it has the cheaper subscription (and one I own, or used to own) but since I cancelled it (and won't be resubbing) then I'm fine with Spotify, especially since the ads aren't too annoying
Awesome, I am hoping they add YouTube Music someday.
I would rather listen to paint drying than support the BbC.
I really hate that Sony have forced the BBC iPlayer on the ps5 with no way to remove it, I already don't have a TV aerial to avoid the TV licence tax but now that each ps5 has BBC iPlayer built in with no way to remove it this is very damaging for people who don't want to pay for the license, by law you should be able to remove it completely, I don't want or need it on my console 😤😤
@huyi Since when? I can remove the app from my console just fine, and I am from the UK with the latest firmware.
@YeoSprings ok, well I must be talking about something else then, it could be the trending row that is irritating my nerves lol
@NoFaceBigFoot - Highly doubtful. BBC iplayer is geo-restricted so I expect this will be too.
I use BBC sounds on my phone all the time. It's great for constantly refreshed dance music mixes if you like that sort of thing, always a new one on there.
