CD Projekt Red revealed its current development structure during the company's latest earnings call. It comes as no huge surprise, but it was confirmed that the majority of its workforce is now committed to Cyberpunk 2077's first expansion — details of which supposedly leaked earlier this week.
Having just about everyone on the DLC would explain why the developer has been so quiet recently with regards to further updates for Cyberpunk. It's likely that the game's next patch will prepare it for the upcoming expansion, by which time it will probably have been officially revealed.
Meanwhile, the next Witcher game — first announced earlier this year — has now entered pre-production. This means that a decent number of employees will be assigned to the Unreal Engine 5 RPG as they finalise the game's concepts and lay the groundwork for full development. It's likely still years away from release, then, but it's happening.

I love the fact that Cyberpunk 2077 will never become the second cash cow of CDPR. A small justice in the grand scheme of things, but it's better than nothing.
Expansion? This still has day 1 bugs. On PS5 (ps4 disk), I’ve gotten the can’t loot bug, crash from trying to eject from a car in badlands, come out of rest mode and everything is blinking, too many people, people spawning in other people.
Otherwise having fun with killing people with quick hacks, charged jump, trying to bed npcs and ruining the Peralize’s (sp) life.
@Bismarck You're right! That's why the game has over 18 million sales and whenever it goes on sale digitally it always climbs high on the charts, especially on steam. FYI I'm not white knighting for the game, yes the game hasn't sold the numbers CDPR expected and has been the largest PR blunder in all of gaming but it will continue to sell throughout the years, especially with new DLC. I'm not even going to purchase the game until the game is literally finished with all updates and content, maybe in 2 years, maybe 5 or possibly never, only thing we can hope for is they learn their lesson for Witcher 4.
@GorosBat It will never reach the heights that it doesn't deserve.
What about the old Witcher? They still need to finish the PS5 version.
@Milktastrophe was about to comment this bar for bar
This was released awhile ago to give an idea of who is on what
@theMEGAniggle @Milktastrophe It's counted as one of CDPR's "other" projects, which it probably has a relatively small team on.
Can't wait for dlc. I adore this game. (I first played on Ps5 so I never did play the awful launch ver.)
I'd rather they be working on Witcher 3 PS5/XBSX update myself.
Seems they're stretching themselves too thin.
@ShogunRok Q4 2022 fingers crossed!
Nova. Can't wait!
Dope. Games an absolute beast now 👌
@GorosBat They still destroyed their name for a big cash in such a pity. From the company that could do no wrong to the company that nobody will trust before they read a review first.
Its a pity pity you call that a win and even a bigger pity that people reward this crap and even worse defend it. But it happens with COD, BF and even GTA a pity that money will excuse all this bull such a waste.
I know its not a charity but do companies need to sell their souls and name for all the money in the world. Better not answer that because the answer will probably depress me.
@BReal Still a pity that they still a bunch of lying ***** and thats not the workers but the bloody suits.
@Flaming_Kaiser Did you even read my message properly? Give it a read again and you will realise I'm saying the opposite of what you're claiming I'm saying😀
@Flaming_Kaiser absolutely. What they did was basically fraud. They saved it though, just
@BReal The only thing they could not save was their reputation. But they got their money i wonder if they where happy with the trade.
But with people like ApostateMage who would even put the blame at the customers for playing it on a PS4 you will never completely lose.
Still not playing the game until all patches have been dropped and DLC released...
@GorosBat Its not defending fantastic but if you at it this way 18 million sales across 3 platforms for one of the most anticipated games around its quite a fail.
That had to pay a settlement and the only company Sony ever banned on their stores thats quite a achievement.
Yeah you are right they sell nice on sales but if the game released in the state what it released more then a year after the original release date then those sales would have been mostly full price.
I wonder how many sales where at a price lower then €20 at 1/3 of the price and how many where at a little above €10 a game that dives so low is quite baffling.
Giving it a shot. Not bad at all for $25. Good voice acting.
