The next instalment of the Future Games Show has been announced, joining the growing lineup of summer presentations heading our way in the coming weeks. Organised by Future Publishing, this will be its second show this year, with a third also planned.
The show is set to be broadcast live on 11th June 2022 at 12pm PDT / 3pm EDT / 8pm BST, and you'll be able to watch it on Twitch, YouTube, and more. As a platform agnostic show, it's going to feature a wide variety of games. "Around 40" titles will make an appearance in some form, whether it's a fresh announcement, new trailer, or developer interview.
So far, no games have been confirmed for Future Games Show, but a handful of publishers name dropped include Team 17, Thunderful, and Amanita Design. The latter of these just announced the intriguing Phonopolis, so odds are we'll see more of that one.
That's about all we know right now. Will you be tuning into this one? Which games would you like to see during the Future Games Show? Discuss in the comments section below.

The narrative is s funny.
E3 sucks, who needs E3.
Here are shows around the exact same timeframe, showing trailers for games.
Anyone getting the funny part?
„Look at me. I’m E3 now”
Mortal Kombat 12 and more Sonic Frontiers info!
Don't care what they call it, E3 self destructed due to ESA being not fit for purpose, and I'm delighted more competent shows will arise as a result!
Of course we all want the shows, we just don't want ESA involved.
40 games? Great. How many of them will i remember? These shows need a quality over quantity approach...you know, like E3 back in the day.
It's promising that more of the E3 shows are happening in the same slot despite E3's cancellation. Gives me more hope that Nintendo chooses to do a general Direct.
40 games and only 4 or 5 of those games will likely be remembered fondly (I'm being generous with that number).
E3 always promised lots of games being shown, but over time the quality of said games diminished until the majority of those games were the same-old same-old copy-and-paste Multiplayers game.
I'm open to being wrong this time, but based on past experiences, it's unlikely I will be.
I want to see what Sega are up to, to be honest, so I'll be hoping they put in an appearance. Mind you, Sega tend to play cards close to their chests.
Definitely coming to the conclusion from a business profile point, that remakes etc requiring less investment or even outsourced are being used to bring cash flow into the business to bridge the gap for when a new game is released.
Financially these studio owners would have worked this out, and it’s seems to becoming a financial trend that probably works for them.
Remember it’s a business that they need to be viable and to survive and that has bills to pay.
Can’t see the remake/remaster trend leaving us anytime soon, in fact it seems to be growing this year and probably into next.
@Dezzy70 oh I share this view with you; notice how Rockstar have just released GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition as hype was generating for GTA6? Yeah, cashflow. Not just Rockstar either, Nintendo have been doing this for yonks - Pokémon LG/FR spring to mind, and then later SS/HG and so on. Always when they need a cash boost to develop the next standalone title.
I miss the E3 'booth babes' of the 90s. Can we have a show for just that?
@shadow2k
Unfortunately I’ve been with gaming for decades had all the consoles and played all the games first time round. I just want new games for the new generation.
However it’s not going to be that way as we will get more and more remasters this year and next.
@Dezzy70 same, my first console was my Sega Master System...from brand new, in 1992. I've seen plenty of IPs come and go, and a lot of gamers are people like us who have been around for 30+ years so companies are banking (literally) on the nostalgia thing. New gamers are getting their fill too, so don't worry about that - I for one am in both camps, I like the remakes (if they're of properties I care about; I would kill for the chance to see two or three classic JRPGs - like 1995-2002, the golden age of JRPGs - built from the ground up in Unreal 5) but believe you me I'll fire up Horizon which is much newer from time to time.
So...basically E3 is a go without the entry fee or show floor? I can live with that.
All I want is the week long celebration of gaming in June with ALL of the big companies participating and showing their wares. If we get that I don't care if they call it E3, FU, or whatever else. I'll always call it E3 week, because it's easier to say than "that week around the spring equinox upon which a gathering of many interactive entertainment organizations occurs for the demonstration of ongoing progress related to products for sale in the near to medium term"
SHOW UP, SONY!
@shadow2k
If they are quality top end remakes for the new generation it’s not to bad, but we do get a fair share of these bog standard remasters.
I find nostalgia strange, I try with an old game I loved, then go no give me new game with all the modern things that come with it.
@Dezzy70
A great example would be Mario 64, I even had a Japanese N64 as I could not wait a year for the UK console release, loved the game every part of it.
Now it’s seems so old and clunky and of course I have seen all it has to give, I wouldn’t give it 1 minute of my time.
10 Star Wars games, 25 remakes, & 5 remasters. I do miss e3 though, nothing has captured the same buzz since it's been gone.
@Ichiban I kind of agree, but I think that's more due to VG production being brutalized for at least 2 years due to CV rather than E3 as we know it going away.
I'm not expecting any big news to come out of Future Games Show.
They'll be saving the big announcements for Xbox, Sony and Nintendo's events.
Also the various publisher events as well (THQ, Square-Enix etc)
