Well, then. There’s no word on FIFA 22 and Battlefield 2042 joining the EA Play catalogue as of yet, and actually its NHL 22 that’s about to be vaulted instead. With the ice hockey season hotting up – see what we did there? – EA Canada’s skating sim is stepping out of the sin bin on 12th May, and will be free for subscribers to download and play on PS5 and PS4 without restrictions.
We thought the series’ new-gen debut was solid enough in our 6/10 review: “NHL 22 surprises by making its debut on a new console without removing any of its modes, but those who played NHL 21 may find this version a little too familiar. The switch to Frostbite does massively improve the fidelity of the rink – even if character models still look downright demonic – but should that really be the biggest change to the game?”
There’s little else to add here – you’ll already know whether you want to download it or not – so we’ll leave you with a hearty GO RANGERS and remind you that you can find a list of All EA Play Games on PS5, PS4 through the link.
