We always enjoy these montages semi-regularly produced by Sony Japan to promote PlayStation’s software lineup. In terms of actual content, we must admit this is one of the weaker ones in recent memory, largely due to there being very few major titles with a release date on PS5 and PS4 right now. It’s still a fun video, though, focusing on the theme of “running”.
The clip shows numerous releases already available for Sony’s consoles, including Horizon Forbidden West and Gran Turismo 7. It does linger on a couple of upcoming releases, like Forspoken, but as mentioned previously it’s quite light on new games. That’s because, technically, the only tentpole title PlayStation has fully revealed right now is God of War Ragnarok, and there’s still some debate about whether it’ll launch this year or not.
It’s a good video, though, and clearly there are plenty of titles to dig into if you pick up a PS5 or PS4 today – it’s just we’re still waiting for some kind of Sony Showcase to flesh out how the future will look.

My PS4 games are just kids games only (with 2 Teen games I have) so i'm happy to get a lot of upcoming kids games on both PS4 & PS5.
Yeah... Playstation is hurting for what is coming beyond Ragnarok. There's rumors at this point and not very tantalizing ones at that. Playstation absolutely needs to show a bit of their hand.
I love it when PlayStation Japan does these. But man we really need some PS news things are so dry right now
A good video as expected, although I found it kind of funny that they led it off with Elden Ring instead of one of their own games. Oh well.
As for the upcoming slate of games, yeah, it's pretty barren. Still, their studios have to be working on things, so it's not like we won't have plenty of games to play like usual. It would be nice if they started telling us what these developers outside of Insomniac and Santa Monica were actually working on though.
I have a strong feeling FF16 and Ragnarok are set for this year, but they’re waiting for the right moment to drop them. It’s not like they’re going to drop them in a commercial, you know?
Cool.word up son
This showcases how important Nintendo having a Direct in February is. Both Microsoft and Sony are in droughts meanwhile Nintendo's just happily going along with promoting upcoming games that were announced in February.
I read the headline and thought Hi-Octane was being announced as one of the new PS Plus Premium titles.
I’m looking forward to the upcoming Spider-Man and Wolverine games. They’ll be top notch high quality for sure
Sony is definitely losing their Japanese market with all this focusing on their Western developers. I guess it can't be helped since they shuttered their Japanese studio, which still confuses me to this day. Seems they want to directly compete with Microsoft now...but they won't win that fight without their whole lineup.
They are still promoting Babylon's Fall in Japan then?!
@ATaco The balance is off, because Japanese games are still popular around the world. I feel like they should have kept Japan Studio around as their AA games would be great for PS+ premium, or they could have directed the studio in the desired direction, rather than allowing them to make good games like Gravity Rush 2 that were good, but were commercial failures.
Bizarrely I stuck around for the tune more than the games. Intense dude
Man I hope Dragon quest x offline makes it West!
@Uncharted2007 So many dead franchises... so many remake, reboot, remaster possibilities... Cmon sony??
Just make more PS5s already
