The South Korean rating board strikes again, and this time it's one of the biggest games on the horizon. God of War Ragnarok is the next major first-party title from PlayStation Studios, and as far as we know, it's still on course to release sometime in 2022. Now, it's been awarded an age rating, which suggests that could be true after all.
As you can see through here, Ragnarok has been listed with a rating, and these usually arrive on the brink of a release. With that in mind, it now seems very likely Sony is lining up some fresh information about the upcoming sequel. If it's starting to receive age ratings, it's possible a release date announcement is imminent.
The timing makes perfect sense, too. A PlayStation presentation is heavily rumoured to be happening soon, and other shows such as Summer Game Fest are queued up for mid-June. Fingers crossed we see more from Kratos and Atreus in the coming weeks.

My Body is READY.
I'm a calm and reasonable person but I NEED IT NOW, SONY!
Next Tuesday they'll probably tell us that there's a State of Play next Thursday.
Sony win this year if god of war Ragnarok come out this year which it probably is.
@Shepherd_Tallon That's the one day in June I wouldn't be able to watch it live, so it checks out.
I remember The Witcher next gen update got rated last October but CDPR immediately shot the rumours down and that's still a mile off.
"Keep your expectations low, boy, and you will never be disappointed"
@Atreus97
first of all that's not a GOW quote.
Second of all you can definitely be disappointed even if you keep your expectations in check. For example: I kinda knew that Elden Ring was going to be just open world Dark Souls, but I was still disappointed by how little the formula has evolved. I can say the same for Horizon, Halo etc
Day 1 purchase

No chance of it coming this year we are nearly in June & nothing. Not even a hint of a release date or new gameplay, details or any info. April 2023 that's when I think we see this game.
State of Play in June, release in September is my guess. Prolly also means the big showcase wont be till September.
@Atreus97 If I say a famous quote it doesn't automatically become mine
@Ryany Horizon got rated in Nov, released Feb. Ratchet got rated in Feb, released June. Its coming this year for sure.
@4kgk2 and they lose if not? 😅
its coming this year 💯
can feel it boyy
BOY! I am ready. Might have to give the first game another playthrough soon.
Oh word.if it is coming this year cool.word up son
@Bismarck if someone quotes you, it technically is yours.
Pre-ordering as soon as the date drops
Rangarok is finally coming!!!!!
@WizzNL hopefully as looking at the store there's nothing else out
Please don´t die Kratos!
Aw baby why you tease me like that.
Confirmed it's a June PS+ Essential game.
Remember when they rated XCOM: Chimera Squad for consoles more than a year ago?
September. 👌
State of Play in June.
👀
@Ryany Summer is usually pretty quiet, but end of year is looking good for me personally. Stray, GoW:R, Forspoken, Hogwarts, Gotham Knights, The Witcher 3 PS5 ( still havent played that ) and still hoping they manage to get FFXVI and Last of Us remake out before end of the year. Still in doubt about Saints Row, so i'll wait reviews for that 1. I dont know what kind of games you like though, so might be different for you.
@WizzNL I like single player games stray looks good hopefully we see release dates for some of those games you mentioned
It sure seems like Sony will break the silence in June but the question is what form. Will there be a PS Showcase? Will it just be a GoW Ragnarok State of Play? Or will Sony give Geoff Keighley all the PS news for the summer?
@Grumblevolcano @JJ2 @WizzNL @Shepherd_Tallon My best bet is what most of you are predicting, a God of War State of Play In June 2022 that reveals a September 2022 release date.
Which sadly means we probably won't get the BIG PlayStation showcase video until September 2022 again, but hopefully it'll be well worth the wait...
@KidBoruto
Yes. I mean I don’t see why a September event would be a problem. The way I see it is State of Play is for games coming very soon like Stray and GOWR
PS event like future of gaming is more for games starting next year and beyond so whether it’s shows in June, July, August or September doesn’t really matter, does it?
@KidBoruto After thinking about it, if we get a State of Play in June for GoW, then im fine with September for the showcase. Because we already have the Summer shows to enjoy and a show right after Summer as well, i can live with that 😉
@WizzNL @JJ2 Glad to hear the both of you agree on this!
Here's hoping we get a God of War themed State of Play sometime after next week's State of Play, but before the inevitable September showcase.
