Them's Fightin' Herds, an excellently named indie fighting game, has been popular on PC for a while, but it's time it was moved to a larger field. Publisher Modus Games and developer Mane6 have announced the title is coming to consoles, arriving on PS5 and PS4 this Fall, available digitally and physically.
The game is a 2D fighter with two key differences. First, it looks like a Cartoon Network show. Second, the playable characters are all four-legged animals. Yes, you'll get to grips with the likes of Velvet the deer, Paprika the alpaca, and Tianhuo, a half dragon, half horse. It's an unusual premise, but it's a well-received game with impressive reviews, so it seems to have gameplay chops to back it up.
Further to that, the game benefits from rollback netcode, ensuring minimal latency, a straightforward combo system based on four attack types, a story mode to explore, and more.
There's no firm date just yet, but this looks like it could be an entertaining alternative to your usual Street Fighters and Mortal Kombats when it arrives in the Autumn. Will you be playing Them's Fightin' Herds? Have a nice graze in the comments section below.

Apparently it also has an excellent tutorial section. Very cool that this is finally coming to console - even cooler that that includes Xbox and Switch.
edit: oooooh and it will have crossplay, nice!
This game has a pretty long history to my understanding. It started out as a My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic fan game and I think it got a cease and desist so they Kickstarted a refresh of the game with all new characters, etc.
This looks hilariously fun. I hope it will have a demo or a open beta.
I remember when this was a MLP fighting fan game. I'm happy for the devs to be able to take the C&D in stride and use everything they worked on and transfer it over to an original IP.
I've played this on PC and it's a lot of fun. It's really similar to Skullgirls.
Is Amber unlockable?
@RudeAnimat0r you are right. I'm still sad we couldn't get the pony fighting game they were originally developing
Definitely looks fun, I heard good things about it on Steam.
Im going to get his one it looks way to much fun. 🤪
If you dug Skullgirls or the MvC series, you'll dig Them's Fightin' Herds. It's not as deep as either of those, but it's very cute and a lot of fun.
And here I was thinking it was Amber VS Whitney.
