Developer Awaceb has delayed its exotic open world game Tchia to early 2023, citing the need to polish the game some more and flesh out other small details. Originally scheduled to launch in the spring of this year, you might remember the official announcement from Sony's PlayStation Showcase last September 2021. The reveal was then followed up with a gameplay trailer — which is embedded above — at The Game Awards 2021.
In a post on Twitter, game director Phil Crifo thanked everyone for the support and then said: "To that end, we have decided to move our release window to early 2023. This extra time will allow us to really polish every aspect of the game and flesh out all the little details that we know will make Tchia a really special experience."
The game is still slated to release on PS5 and PS4. At its announcement, Tchia was described as an exotic open world adventure game set in New Caledonia, a group of French islands in the South Pacific. The chill experience will include a story, customisation, open world activities and challenges, and combat.

Major disappointment.
I love the look of this and was keen to play it.
Doh!
Just enough time for Nintendo to take out a lawsuit then, since it's a blatant rip off of Wind Waker.
@Resi32 That’s not even remotely how IP law works. It bears a passing resemblance in that there’s a boat and there’s water.
@nessisonett far more than a passing resemblance, the leaf is ripped straight out of ww, so is the musical instrument with the patterns to unlock new paths, there's nothing original here, Nintendo did it years ago.
Ooh..
I have remembered that game when I saw the trailer where the character can get inside animal body like Mario Odyssey.
I will keep my eyes on that game.
@Resi32 I’m just going to assume you’re trolling. Push Square is a rip off of The Smurfs 2 because there’s words and they’re both blue.
It does look like an interesting exploration game.
Although the main character nose looks off and distracting
🤢 the gameplay looks awful
@Resi32 I can't make a better joke then this.
Shame about the delay, but better for development!
I look forward to playing this next year.
I'm all in favor of refinement. This looks good. Windbound didn't do it for me, I don't care for procedurally generated worlds, too much crafting, and not so great combat. So hopefully this fills that Wind Waker shaped hole in my heart.
