Developer Awaceb has delayed its exotic open world game Tchia to early 2023, citing the need to polish the game some more and flesh out other small details. Originally scheduled to launch in the spring of this year, you might remember the official announcement from Sony's PlayStation Showcase last September 2021. The reveal was then followed up with a gameplay trailer — which is embedded above — at The Game Awards 2021.

In a post on Twitter, game director Phil Crifo thanked everyone for the support and then said: "To that end, we have decided to move our release window to early 2023. This extra time will allow us to really polish every aspect of the game and flesh out all the little details that we know will make Tchia a really special experience."

The game is still slated to release on PS5 and PS4. At its announcement, Tchia was described as an exotic open world adventure game set in New Caledonia, a group of French islands in the South Pacific. The chill experience will include a story, customisation, open world activities and challenges, and combat.
