The egregiously named AI: The Somnium Files – nirvanA Initiative (our spell checker did not like that one bit!) will launch later than expected on the PS4, and other platforms, in Europe. The sequel, which had been scheduled to launch on 24th June, will now deploy on 8th July. There’s no change to the planned North American release date, which remains 24th June.
Frustratingly, despite the delay being squarely attributed to the physical release, the digital version will also be delayed. “Due to unforeseen manufacturing delays and global shipping slowdowns, Spike Chunsoft and Numskull Games unfortunately must delay the European and Oceania release of this title across all platforms,” a press release explains. “To maintain parity, the digital releases for these regions will be delayed to 8th July as well.”
It’s obviously only approximately two weeks, but fans looking forward to the title will feel understandably frustrated.
