PSVR2 remains in that semi-limbo state where we know it’s coming, but we still don’t know much about it – especially when it comes to software. Obviously, a handful of games have been officially announced – including Horizon Call of the Mountain – but we can still revel in the unknown, before our expectations crash back to reality.
In this latest Push Square YouTube video, we look at ten upcoming PSVR2 titles we need to have. This clip lurches from the likely (Gran Turismo 7) to the hopeful (Half-Life: Alyx) to the unlikely (The Last of Us). Hopefully there’s a good mix here to whet your appetite, though. Which PSVR2 games are you crying out for?

Boneworks and Bonelab on PSVR2 perhaps? Boneworks is a great game and would work well with the PSVR2's new controllers.
I'd love a locations app. Like what you said about being able to experience first party worlds in VR, but even more basic than that - Just let me sit on a couch with a tv screen in front of me, but the couch and TV are on that crane from The Last of Us Part 2.
I'm getting the logitech G29 for my birthday so fingers crossed for GT7 in VR. I'd also like to see Resident Evil Village and Half Life Alyx. My personal favourite PSVR game was Astro Bot and with how amazing the PS5 game is I'd love to see a new VR game. Also fingers crossed for backwards compatibility as the likes of Blood and Truth can only be improved with better tracking
If PSVR2 launches without RE Village support at launch we can launch a class action lawsuit against Sony and/or Capcom
@TeapotBuddha Yeah, that’s a likely one. It’s a no brainer for both companies.
With the PS5 REVII version supposely coming later this year, it's the kind of game which would need to be compatible with PSVR2 from day one. It could be lauching pretty close to a VR update for village as I see it. And while you are at it, why not check for the ending of the exclusivity deal for quest2 for RE4 VR to bring it to PSVR2.
Apart from RE, you did not mention a sequel to Astro Bot which surprised me. Also, in general, many actual PSVR games requiring move controllers would greatly benefit from an update to PSVR2 with the new sense controllers like the Walking dead (and much more)
@TeapotBuddha Can we please have Portal 1 and 2 on PS4/5 then?
ALYX (for sure, it is amazing)
Elite Dangerous
Lone Echo 1 and 2
They should make a CHORUS VR option
Sony is a lazy company since we haven't heard from psvr2 yet
Realistically, I think Resident Evil VIII, Half Life and GT7 (just like the article).
I also hope, personally, for some game in space or below water, I dont care if its a "game game", or a walking simulator. Just give me my immersion.
I also dream for Silent Hills VR. OR a remake of the first one, first person and VR compatible.
Bonus game: Drunken Bar Fight 2 (yes).
A sequel to the best platformer ever made, Astro Bot Rescue Mission. That is all really. That’s all it needs.
Resident Evil Village.
I don’t even like horror games, but to this day RE7 in VR was one of the better VR games I’ve enjoyed across 3 HMDs
@dasd2 but then they say something and because of the chip shortage and delayed release everyone will complain that they revealed stuff too early.
I say yes to everything proposed in that video!
If Sony is really smart, I'd love to see them form a development team dedicated to remastering older flatscreen games for VR. Maybe an offshoot of Bluepoint. Just imagine how cool games series like Bioshock, Deus Ex, Resistance etc would be in VR on the new PSVR2 headset!
Since modders can do this on PC I don't think a fully funded Sony initiative would have any problems making it happen.
Ace Combat 8 with full VR support please.
@Perturbator would be nice if they could incorporate a program like VorpX for PSVR2. Leaving folks to experiment with older games and just adding some uniqueness to them
VR or 3D. For platformers 3D is fun.
I’m praying for Farpoint 2 - surprised it wasn’t mentioned but can’t argue with the suggestions in the video.
Soooooooooooooo excited!
Please announce a release date Sony!!!
Absolutely MUST have half life: alyx and walking dead saints and sinners
Big fan of vr and have had the psvr since launch and the quest 2 since Xmas so I'm hopeful for psvr2. The wired approach is a little offputting as several of the big games such as superhot really shine untethered. But still I just want vr to become essential rather than a bit of a novelty which is great when I can be arsed but really I just wanna chill on the sofa and play on the TV...
I'm just shocked there isn't Time Crisis or Point Blank VR games yet. They were the biggest thing back in the PS1 gun game days and they still have them at local arcades
What we really need for PSVR2 is a load of ports of the best PSVR games. So Astro Bot, Moss, etc.
To have all of these games in VR would be awesome!
Cyberpunk., yes. Since Ace Combat 8 is way out maybe a full VR mode for Ace Combat 7?
I also would toss in some Ubisoft games, since I really would like to revisit some of their worlds in VR: Origins, Unity (maybe Ubisoft should start with Syndicate, then there would be at least a decent version on PS5). I cannot say that I care about an Avatar game, but the announced Avatar game would be a whole lot more interesting in VR.
There are just too many games I would like to see in VR (Shadow of the Colossus, the Last Guardian, The Witness, Tomb Raider, Uncharted, Batman Arkham Knight, Jedi Fallen Order, Returnal)
P.S.: I disagree with the statement that Hitman 3 was "a let down". Despite all its shortcomings it was still one of the best PSVR games for me.
@gaston
Half the games you just listed that you want in VR would make 99.999 percent of people puke their guts out.
I think there’s an outside chance we could see a new Wipeout for PSVR2. Maybe I’m being optimistic, but how awesome would it be!!!
I love VR games but it seems developers feel they have to convert them to first person.
But Moss showed a 3rd person game worked in VR, so why not have the player watching over the character and able to move them around, with my head looking around instead of a camera stick - Horizon Zero for example, if I could be playing the same game but instead of a flat screen I’m watching within the world, able to see threats to my character from around them, that would be awesome!
