Update: We hate to say it, but we told you so. The Persona 25th anniversary stream was short and, if you were hoping for actual Persona game news, not very sweet. The six and a half minute stream revealed some merchandise alongside news that the upcoming Persona music concert is going to be broadcast worldwide — although you'll need to purchase tickets in order to watch it. We've embedded the video above if you want the details.
The moral of this story? Never expect anything — especially when Atlus is involved.
(Although, to be fair, some of the merchandise is pretty cool...)
Original Story: Persona 4 Golden finally being ported to PS4 or PS5?! A new Persona Arena game with Persona 5 characters?! Persona 6?! No. No. Don't even think about it. Seriously, take whatever hopes you have for this incoming Persona 25th anniversary stream and put them in the bin — because they ain't coming true.
Right, with that out of the way, let's dive into the facts. Later today, starting at 12PM PT — that's 8PM here in the UK — Atlus is hosting a livestream for Persona's 25th anniversary (you can watch it on YouTube). This specific stream is directed at Persona's Western audience, which is a real rarity, but again, we wouldn't go into it expecting any significant game news.
The stream will highlight "worldwide merchandise and events" — there's no mention of announcements or games, or anything that has the potential to make headlines on this website. Granted, we don't know what the "events" are — maybe, if we're incredibly lucky, there's going to be a big showcase or something later down the line — but it's probably to do with the upcoming Persona concerts.
Still, we'll be watching this stream (it's our job!), and we'll be sure to report on anything that's actually relevant to PlayStation games. We're betting on it being a quiet night, though.

Already seeing some absurd claims doing the rounds on Twitter. It's no wonder companies shy away from doing smaller streams — people's expectations are out of control!
That's what they want you to think, so... You'll never see it coming.
Didn't know about this stream. My hopes are up now that I know of it. Thanks!
@Milktastrophe No!
I’m really hopeful that the early persona games will hit PS Plus Premium. It has to happen. Announce it!
@ShogunRok Who Are You Kidding Robert You And Sammy Always Let The Hype Get The Better Of You.
@Areus If this was anyone other than Atlus I might be feeling it...
Persona 3 and 4 coming to ps4 confirmed! Thanks for the breaking news
No! Don't get in the way of my dreams. I shall be hyped and will cry a river if my expectations are not met.
As an Atlus fan I expect nothing from this but people on Twitter think every single announcement is going to be a port of a Persona game and then get disappointed when it isn't
Correct me if I'm wrong but the only game announcement so far with the anniversary celebrations was the Persona 4 Arena Ultimax port which was announced at the Game Awards 2021. Hence if there was another Persona game announcement in the near future, Atlus would be more likely to save it for Summer Game Fest.
It isn't June, so it can't be anything interesting. And even if I wanted the merchandise, it's way too expensive. And by western it probably means American anyway.
Ported*
I am hoping something new is announced for PS5. Now that I got my hands on one! (Finally) 😈
PERSONA 6 LETS GOOOOOO
@ShogunRok i didnt know about this stream, but now that you have published an article telling me not to get my hopes up, i am now hyped and will hold you, sir robert ramsey of Push Square towers, personally responsible when Atlus announce some joker skin dlc for sonic origins collection rather than a port of P4G to PS4/5 😆😉
At most I could maybe see them say when rollback netcode is launching for P4AU. Even that's probably a stretch though. Would love to be surprised though!
So you're saying a full Persona 7 reveal is almost inevitable?
All I’m thinking is Persona 4 Golden for PS5, PS4 or even Switch, but @ShogunRok is absolutely bang on. Take all those Persona-related dreams and ditch them, because we just know they won’t be bringing P4G to consoles… it makes too much sense to actually, you know, make tons of money.
I appreciate the realism in the headline and not over-hyping the stream.
PERSONA 5 FOR SWITCH PRO!!1
@NEStalgia 😒
Well as warned nothing of note. Still fun hearing Teddie and Morgana with the unbearlievable task of fitting so many bear puns in just a few minutes.
The event was for persona live, so yeah that was lame
Watched it and ehhhh? Was my first thought. Macarons?
My expectations for anything exciting from Atlus has been low for a while now.
Events for fans around the world!!
All events are in the US.
I hope they announce something enormously disappointing like a vinyl rearrangment or adult coloring book.
Edit: a vinyl player even stupider!
I expect nothing and will still be disappointed.
@ShogunRok Not really. Sega/Atlus is just terrible at delivering any. Not one thing that people want has been offered to people who supported this franchise for years.
@ShogunRok Obviously you jinxed it by writing this article! Just think of all the amazing announcements we could of got if it wasn’t for you!
Stream turned out to be nothing of course, and so the wait continues for big Persona news.
@BeerIsAwesome you are just a massive clown, you know that?
I don’t even know why are you even here troll.
Makoto P5 Dancing All Night figure. Then it was a good stream

And still, I got my hopes up.
to all you guys : (SAGAT SF 2 SHOULDER LAUGHING)
@thefourfoldroot1 the games are twenty years old just emulate them dude
@Novu
If I really wanted to play the originals again, as is, I still have all the original hardware required. I’m hoping these games will receive additional trophy challenges to provide extra depth.
I never expected anything from Atlus except for them to ask if you want Persona games available on all consoles but never bother to do it
