Oh? What's this, then? Ubisoft has revealed that it'll be hosting an 'Assassin's Creed Celebration Livestream' tomorrow, on the 14th June. No further details have been given, but you won't be blamed if your mind immediately jumps to potential game announcements. After all, we know that at least two Assassin's Creed projects are currently in the works — one of which is rumoured to be a smaller, more stealth-focused title starring Basim.
The stream will be aired on both YouTube and Twitch, starting at 9AM PT / 12PM ET / 5PM BST / 6PM CET.
But maybe that's a bit of a jump. It could be that this is just some kind of community livestream, complete with gameplay and giveaways. It's hard to say.
What do you think this could be? Are you expecting any announcements? Try not to get too excited in the comments section below.

Unity remaster and a PS5 patch for Syndicate would be nice if highly unlikely.
Hmm since it's in June with all the other big news events I'd imagine we get some sort of new announcement. I think it's still too early to talk about AC Infinite. (Although to be fair, Ubi has had a tendency of late to announce things too early) I'd put my money on some sort of AC show on Netflix or Amazon or something and that smaller AC game that was originally Valhalla dlc. I'm intrigued nonetheless!
@NEStalgia So it literally is just Nintendo that's missing out on all the "not E3" fun.
I have no interest in this event but it is sad everyone's doing events but Nintendo.
I wouldn't expect too much – these celebrations tend to be mostly for fans. Maaaaybe confirmation of that "smaller" AC-game.
@Korgon Pretty much agree with all of this. Teaser for the next game, final DLC / updates for Valhalla, possible multimedia stuff announced. All would make a lot of sense.
@Grumblevolcano ouch.
To be fair this is just assassin's Creed and not the full ubi event which they said will be later this year (September?) So Nintendo isn't quite as invalidated by this.
But you're right literally the entire industry participated in notE3 except Nintendo that just posted to Twitter. And they have more big games coming sooner than anyone...
I thought they were ignoring Geoff Fest, but there were switch trailers in there.
Probably just talk about the future roadmap for the game, a reminder about Origins update, and talk about some progress we all made. Not expecting anything for the next game but a small teaser, even just a clue would be nice.
@NEStalgia Square Enix's contribution to "not E3" was FF16 in the State of Play and a FF7 25th anniversary celebration on Thursday so I think it's fair to compare this to that.
@Korgon I'm betting on it going to be an announcement of the next DLC turned full game thing with some gameplay, then AC Infinity trailer with launch date sometime next year?
@theMEGAniggle
I feel like they would save Infinity for later since it's sounds extremely ambitious but again Ubisoft has announced a few games way too early lately so who knows it could happen!
Haven't even started Odyssey yet let alone Valhalla. Quite happy to be on hold
@Grumblevolcano true. And the sonic presentation for Sega. The 10 minute pez commercial, 😂
Nintendo did have switch trailers in SGF though. Or was that all third party despite the switch click intro?
@NEStalgia The Mario Strikers ad was an ad Nintendo put on their Youtube channel back in May and the coming soon ad was just mashing together snippets of trailers from February - April 2022.
@Grumblevolcano Yeah, but I guess it means they did formally participate in SFG, which is weird because they weren't listed on the partners page I don't think. Not sure what's up with that.
Still, it's just weird with the entire industry participating at least slightly in the spirit of E3 and Nintendo just ignoring it beyond upping their Twitter game. I know Nintendo does its own thing, and always says they don't look at the rest of the industry and what other companies are doing (which makes me wonder why they've been doing E3 since 1995....), but it's honestly just poor sportsmanship at this point. Furukawa & Bowser may be flipping off fans even more than (Ken) Yoshida & Ryan. Even Sony's participating, and they have less to show for the near future. It's like the ghost of Yamauchi is back and scroogier than ever.
@Grumblevolcano Although NL had this article:
https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2022/06/rumour-nintendo-direct-to-take-place-later-this-month
However, my take-away on this is.......Why is a Sony employee live-streaming Microsoft reactions, and leaking Nintendo plans?!?!?! I mean of all the possible ways to E3, that has to the most E3est way of E3ing of all. It's so meta it's breaking the 5th wall.
@Korgon From the sounds of things the AC game this year is a crossgen release called Rift, it started out as Valhalla DLC but was then turned into its own game. From what we know its a prequel to Valhalla, is much smaller in size in both map and length with a return to a more "classic" AC style of play with a focus on stealth, a city to parkour around in and of course assassinations.
@Korgon but haven't they technically 'revealed' Infinity or am I bugging?
Calling it.
Battle royale style ac, 300 assassins parachute from Leonardo da vinci's mega plane. Into maps based on classic ac games.
Judder your way through a bug ridden Paris whilst your target falls through a wall.
@theMEGAniggle
Oh no your right it's been revealed. I was referring to an actual trailer for it being too early. Sorry I probably could have been a bit more clear there.
Hope we see a Rift announcement.
All I desire is an AC1 remake that includes AC Bloodlines, a release date trailer for the Netflix series, and PS5 remasters of the existing PS4 AC games.
I'm not asking for too much am I?
@KidBoruto Would love a AC1 Remake, its annoying how its the black sheep of the series. I actually bought AC1 for my Series S not long back as it got a 60fps patch, visually it holds up well and it reminds me on how it always did look different to the others with its visuals, AC2 was actually a "worse" looking game.
@Korgon It's cool but I feel like they need to reel people in! I think it'll be an in engine trailer or maybe CGI but either way I think we'll get one
@NEStalgia The only thing I can think of that could connect all these things is a GoW Ragnarok State of Play. Nintendo always went last with E3 and used that timing to dominate the spotlight (they've been successful with that strategy quite a lot) but this time unless GoW Ragnarok is delayed to 2023 (which Sony Santa Monica has reiterated is not the case), Sony would be last if Nintendo did a Direct this week.
So perhaps there's a GoW Ragnarok State of Play on June 23rd (outside of E3 week, Nintendo likes to do Directs on Wednesday or Thursday so June 23rd would be the last possible Direct date before June 29th).
@Grumblevolcano That makes sense, though IDK if Sony would stealth-drop a GoW SoP this month like that. We've barely seen much about the game since last September, other than hype content, and I would have thought they'd use their September spotlight time for that if they didn't even include a mention of it in the June SoP if it's a holiday release.
@WallyWest Preach it! AC1 is almost a different series to the rest of AC, and every game, including 2, I keep waiting to be the sequel to 1 that it never got. Origins actually comes reasonably closest, but I still feel like Hitman is a better successor to AC1 than any AC game. It was basically medieval Hitman...
@NEStalgia Sandwich the Xbox reveals. Start off with a strong 3rd party showcase and revealing TLoU Part 1, let the Xbox Showcase and Xbox Showcase Extended pass and then announce a GoW Ragnarok State of Play to keep PS5 in people's minds.
@Grumblevolcano And E3 show schedule without E3.....all the bad parts and none of the good parts!
It makes sense, but if they were revealing more soon I would still think they'd have wanted to at least mention there's more coming soon on it, as a tease to control the narrative all week. I can't help but think they don't want to overshadow TLoU part 1 until all the preorders are locked. If they hype up GoWR too soon they'll cannibalize the quadruple-dipping And if GoWR slipped to December or late november, but still 2022, there's no reason to not make that their September showcase. I think it could go either way depending on their marketing intent.
Which still doesn't truly explain why Sony employees are live-streaming Xbox events and leaking Nintendo news, though
@Korgon Well that was disappointing. Literally just a stream for the 60fps update
@WallyWest I don't remember AC1 very well at all, so will have to take your word on that!
Sadly the stream was mostly Valhalla updates, but there's always next time.
