Activision is in a rare situation where it's announced the release date for the next game it'll publish before even showing what it actually looks and plays like. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 comes to PS5 and PS4 on 28th October 2022, and at 6pm BST / 10am PT / 1pm ET on Wednesday next week, we'll get our first proper look at the FPS out of Infinity Ward.
A brief teaser has been released in the meantime, which you can catch above. It features some of the main characters from Task Force 141: Gaz, Soap, Alejandro, and Captain Price. Footage also shares the game's slogan: "The Ultimate Weapon Is Team". Make of that what you will. And that's just about all there is to this new info drop from Activision. The only other key detail we know of is a pre-release beta exclusive to PS5, PS4.
We'll reconvene on 8th June 2022 for the full trailer, then. It doesn't seem to be attached to any sort of Summer Game Fest event, so it'll likely just be uploaded to YouTube and the job's a good'un. Do you reckon Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will better Call of Duty: Vanguard? Let us know in the comments below.

That’s the worst tagline I think I’ve ever seen 😂
So is the singleplayer on the disc this time.
Im wondering how much theyl have altered due to the real life events currently happening with Russia. I know COD likes the 'grabbed from the headlines' approach to their missions but that would be stupid in this case.
I mean we all know how the gameplay will look right?
I wonder how many abuse allegations they’ll announce during that
I’ve actually gotten a fair bit more enjoyment out of Vanguard than I thought I would, given how negative the fan base has been regarding it. Looking forward to seeing what this brings, even if it’s more of the same, if it entertains me and the friends for a few hours a week each week it’s a positive.
This and the new Warzone will be nice to dip into for a bit in between single player games.
@Flaming_Kaiser
Is anything ever on the disc on COD games lol.
I think Cold War has one multiplayer map and a bot match. Everything else has to be downloaded.
That’s why I bought the digital version.
@Danloaded
It’s been in development for three years. It’s doubtful anything related to the Ukraine-Russian War is in the story.
With that said, that’s just enough development time for a story based around a pandemic inspired by Covid. Maybe some lost Soviet era bio weapon gets used by one of COD’s favorite villains (some ghetto version of the terrorist organization who shall not be named and some pissed off Russians). It’s up to TF141 to figure out where it came from originally and where a possible vaccine might be located in the former USSR.
In the meantime, said bio weapon has spread across the globe and all out civil conflicts egged on by anti-government forces are breaking out in the United States and Europe. So the side characters can be a joint NATO team made up of US Delta Force, British SAS, and German GSG 9 who have to find the ringleaders of the antigovernment groups and take out their leaderships.
But we already had cod modern warfare 2 like a decade ago. So really this will be Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 2
People are still playing military FPS? What is this 2010

Is this a remake of the original?
@OrtadragoonX In that case ill be buying second or with a massive discount. I wont be rewarding lazyness on the developers side. So the last one was just as bad as Tony Hawk 5.....☹️
I would totally buy a disk version of all the campaings.
