Activision promised the first proper Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 trailer would be dropping today, and, well, here it is. Compared to previous reveal trailers for Call of Duty titles, it's honestly a little dull. Nevertheless, off the back of 2019's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Infinity Ward has proven it knows what it's doing. Still scheduled for 28th October 2022 on PS5 and PS4, you can catch all the footage above.
Furthermore, pre-orders have now gone live on the PS Store. Call of Duty is doing its usual thing of not offering a free PS4 to PS5 upgrade. Instead, you'll need to buy the specific Cross Gen Bundle for £69.99/$69.99. There's also the Vault Edition for £99.99/$99.99, which includes the usual digital bonuses like skins and Battle Pass Tier Skips. Pre-ordering either version will give you early access to an open beta, exclusively on PS5 and PS4.
Oh, and just a reminder: the marketing slogan is still "The Ultimate Weapon Is Team". At least you can swim in this one!
We do not have to wait long for our next look at Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 either; the game will be part of Summer Game Fest Live tomorrow night. Geoff Keighley has the exclusive first look at the single player campaign.

Looks okay. I agree with you, not a particularly mind-blowing trailer or anything. Will await more info.

@kpenders I imagine it went something like this: "We'll sue you for breach of contract."
I will agree that the video game market is fragile in the face of monopolization but I suppose that is the case for all industries. Compose all the titans together under one roof and no one else can survive. That's why we originally got the Sherman Anti-Trust Act in the first place. The steel and oil industries certainly couldn't survive if nothing had been done.
The ultimate weapon is the Tsar bomb…Or the nano machines from no time to die.

@lolwhatno No worries I'll just report him.
I'm hoping MW2's campaign will have more of the night vision stealth missions, god those were intense and amazing. This has been the only COD I've been interested since Black Ops 2.

I mean if they are getting into MS’s bed, the game should just be free
Looking forward to this one, got a refund on Vanguard. It was horrendous.
@Rmg0731 Will be the next one in 2024 that will be free. Assuming the sale goes through.
Rule of thumb: no need for anybody to pre-order. Wait for release and if interested then purchase. It's not like you won't find it on shelves or digital if you don't fomo in.
I'll always give a thumbs up if Metallica is involved in a trailer! Otherwise though yes looks like CODMW2. Not a bad thing but not much else to say. I really hope Gun Fight returns. Also maybe with the emphasis on team maybe the campaign will have some squad coordination tactics like classic Rainbow Six? That would be awesome I miss me some Rainbow Six Vegas action!
I think it was pretty good trailer. I liked the use of J. Balvin's version of Wherever I May Roam, because if I recall correctly parts of the game are going to take place in South America, so I think it's cool to use a Spanish song while also using a type of song that you would expect to see in a Call of Duty trailer!
Modern Warfare has always been my favorite sub-series of COD as I’m not much of a zombies fan and I not only like the Spec Ops better but they ‘fit the overall package’ better than some wacky nazi zombies throw in. That said though, I can definitely wait for a bit on this as I’m going to be busy with Gotham Knights when this drops, the The Callisto Protocol in early December and then Dead Space remake in January. Hopefully by the end of Q1 ‘23 this will have had a bit of a price drop or I can find a sale on it.
Looks great. Unfortunately, this COD games is only 3 hours long in single player campaign.
@lolwhatno He said Iraq. Different war.

The trailer is not incredibly hype inducing, but I guarantee this will be the best COD since MW remake. Infinity Ward is just the best COD dev, and some of the footage here nearly looks photoreal in the night vision scenes at least.
Also the first bit of the trailer seems like bonkers COD action, which is the part I enjoy the most (multiplayer was great when I was a kid, now that I'm almost 30, I just don't care about multiplayer games all that often)
I'm not paying that kind of money for the story. That's all I care about in them games these days. Really hope Sony will be able to add them to their PS+ service someday but if not then I'll probably just have to take out a month of GamePass and binge as many as i can when they get added. Haven't played the last two games. Until then, the beta is enough for me to get the multiplayer part out of my system.
