The iconic 1989 NES puzzle platformer A Boy and His Blob: Trouble on Blobolonia is coming to both the PS5 and PS4 – and so is its 1990 Game Boy successor, The Rescue of Princess Blobette. Designed by legendary Pitfall programmer David Crane, the two titles see you feeding jelly beans to the titular malleable mass, which in turn transforms into different utilities. For example, it can transform into a trampoline to help you reach higher areas.
There is a WayForward remake of the original game already on the PS4, but this collection is not to be confused with that – it’s the original NES and Game Boy versions you’re getting here, complete with their legendary 8-bit soundtrack. Interestingly, this collection is utilising Limited Run Games’ new multiformat emulator, the Carbon Engine – and yes, of course, there will be physical versions available.

@get2sammyb But think of how well it could run on PS4 and PS5.
Kinda cool how many Game Boy titles are enjoying revivals in these retro collections. Oftentimes, they provided wildly unique alternatives to the home console games they were designed to complement.
