Digimon Survive has a new trailer, which provides a brief overview of the upcoming RPG. Bandai Namco's named it a 'Release Date Trailer', but seeing as we already knew the release date — 29th July here in the West — the title seems slightly odd.
Nevertheless, we're liking the game's art direction and the look of its characters. Gameplay is split between choice-driven, visual novel-style storytelling and turn based, tactical combat. There's a bit of both on show here.

Sweet. I have been waiting for this I plan on picking it.
I like the part where the digimon has a digi-volution tree which can seemingly be switched on the fly.
The combat reminds of the Utawarerumono series, another great VN for those interested.
Weird... the trailer lists only PS4 at the end but shows XBox One and XBox Series X|S...
Not quite the game I thought this was going to be but I'm still excited to check it out!
I'll wait for reviews.
@Tharsman Yeah Bandai multiplat even to Xbox now, Maybe PS has a marketing deal?
@Darylb88 Not what i meant, i mean that at the end of the trailer, it shows "PS4 • XBox Series X|S • XBox One • Switch • Steam" but there is no mention of PlayStation 5.
It sounds like only Xbox gets a next-gen version. Similar to the Persona 4 and 3 thing.
@Tharsman Oh right tbh that is strange, i don't think Xbox will get next gen versions of this game or P3/P4 though. It's not needed for those 3 games
Edit: Xbox trailer confirms it's Xbox One only as I thought: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fG6J35aEmJI&ab_channel=Xbox
P3/P4 will be same as PS4
@Darylb88 just watched the add and although the box art at the end says Xbox one, the logos at the bottom list both consoles (SX|S+One)
Mind you it might be one of those cases where they simply are “next gen aware” and get to run at 120fps.
Excited! This will be my first visual novel-esque game, will try to buy day one if my budget will allow it.
Not usually one for visual novels though I did enjoy the visual novel/ part fighting game with robots something sentinels I think from Bandai
