First it was given away through PS Plus, and now EA Play members will get their hands on the game: FIFA 22 is heading to the publisher's subscription service on 23rd June 2022. The football simulator had been rumoured to be releasing on EA Play alongside Battlefield 2042, but only FIFA 22 has materialised for now. It joins the library of playable titles for the foreseeable future.
The summer months are generally seen as the perfect time for publishers to put their sports games on subscription services as the next annual release is now roughly three months away and interest from hardcore fans will likely be beginning to wane. For example, NHL 22 was also given away to members quite recently.
In our FIFA 22 PS5 review, we awarded the game an 8/10 and praised it for making "meaningful strides on the pitch". Of course, we'll come to know these games as EA Sports FC in a few years' time. For a complete list of All EA Play Games on PS5, PS4, click the link.

I'd call it a long term loan more than anything else, considering the annual sports games are usually jettisoned from the service and delisted from online stores after about two years. Wasn't Madden 20 taken down just the other day?
Doesn't seem worth it at this point. EA Play is largely a waste of money on Playstation to be honest. X amouunt of games on there and 75% of them are made up of 5 years worth of FIFA, Madden, NBA and NHL. And no one is subbing per month/year for the arse end of an annual sports game surely?
@tomassi
Agreed.
I subbed for EA Play this year because I wanted to play Mass Effect 1-4 (Currently on 3) Mirrors Edge 1-2, Dragon Age Inquisition and Fifa 22.
Got fifa 22 thanks to PS Plus but the other games more than make up for the $20 i spent for the year sub but most likely won't resub again after beating the above games.
