EA Sports likes to fill its various annual titles with contemporary licensed tunes, and it looks like F1 22 will be no different. With Codemasters now part of the family, this year's Formula One sim is getting the full treatment, and that means an extensive soundtrack to enjoy between races.
"Charli XCX, Meduza, Diplo, Jacknife & The Bloody Beetroots, and BRUX ft Kimbra headline a heart-racing soundtrack comprised of 33 global artists who pioneer the electric dance genre, reflecting cultures from the Miami beaches to the narrow streets of Monaco," reads the press release. Steve Schnur, president of music at EA, says the soundtrack reflects "the rush players can experience from the pinnacle of motorsports".
Other artists include Alesso & Marshmello, James Bay, deadmau5 & Wolfgang Gartner, and more. It's not quite as extensive as FIFA 22's 122 tracks, but it is neat to see F1 being treated the same way. We've no doubt the franchise's soundtrack will be that much bigger next year. If you want to listen to the game's track list, you can do so on Spotify or Apple Music through the respective links.

Nothing says F1 like Charli XCX..?
As someone who's played almost all the F1 games I can say, with all honesty, the music track will be turned off the moment I start the game. Hopefully before a note is even played.
Good ole EA, spending thousands of dollars for licensed music that people never asked for or needed. If I need licensed music, I can play it in the background off a bluetooth speaker. (or the Spotify PS5 app, like Sony would want)
Not a big deal, as long as I can turn it off.
Way to make me wanna skip it. Those genres and artists in no way make think of racing a car and so there will be no music in this game at all if I bother, as my only option will be to turn it off.
Ea execs think they are going to attract the party criwd to an f1 game with this music. Maybe they are right, but I doubt it.
No Fleetwood Mac - the chain, no listen
I hope it's got 'Living In A Box Box Box'.
Yay, I get to go in the options and turn the awful music off 😄
If the opening line of the soundtrack doesn't start "Riders of the Storm..." I'm not interested.
As many stated above, the music will be the first thing to be turned off swiftly followed by assists. I will be waiting to see reviews for this first. I dont trust EA not to have ballsed something up.
Reminiscing of the incredible Motorstorm Apocalypse soundtrack... So good...
Now THAT was a rush of an experience, Steve
Until Cross Gen is ditched, F1 2020 will do me nicely. I just can’t see the series progressing forwards if a console from 2013 still holds it back.
Just pay for the Fleetwood Mac tune that the BBC did back in the day.
Mugs.
@BoldAndBrash I was thinking more of the Wipeout 2097 soundtrack!
I think the tracks will be popular with the wider audience rather than the sim racers you’ll find on these sites. I’m not a sim racer but more of a casual player of racing games. The music may be a nice addition in menus etc
Remember on the PS1 and PS2 how certain games would let you add your own soundtracks.
No reason why we should not still be able to
"Charli XCX" - is that a new Microsoft console?
