Surprisingly, Street Fighter 6 is playable at Geoff Keighley’s media portion of Summer Game Fest. That means early impressions, and crucially, gameplay footage are beginning to filter in. This 25 minute video by FGC stalwart Maximilian Dood is well worth a watch, then. It includes uninterrupted 4K video of the release, which is looking absolutely superb.
For more experienced players, it also delves into the nitty-gritty aspects of the gameplay, from the new Drive Impact mechanic through to supers and more. He mentions that the fighter feels “heavy” and that classic characters like Ryu and Chun-Li are truly unique. He also notes that, in terms of past games, it perhaps compares closest to Street Fighter 3 – although it’s absolutely its own game.
Even if you don’t care about the incredibly in-depth commentary, you can just feast your eyes on all the pretty visuals – the game is an absolute stunner from a presentation perspective, there’s no doubt about that. Perhaps the only disappointment here is that the game’s not due out until 2023 – we want it now!
Just in case you didn’t follow the news earlier, by the way, the game will feature rollback netcode and crossplay! It just gets better.

Looking good. Don’t like Chun Li’s outfit of course, but that is what it is. Never bothered with 5 because I was put off by the gradual release of characters and the initial lack of single player content, but might try this depending on how such things are handled this time around.
This is by far my most anticipated release of next year! It's looking absolutely amazing! I'm also glad it doesn't feel too much like 3. Even though I respect it that's probably my least favorite of the series which I know is an unpopular opinion. 6 looks like it's building on a lot of things from throughout the series with elements of 3, 4, 5, and Alpha while also having its own quirks.
Street Fighter 5 was an excellent game and was in my rotation of games to play pretty much all throughout the PS4 generation. Right now 6 is looking like it will do the same for the PS5 generation.
Hearing it plays most like 3 actually makes me pretty excited for this. I haven’t played Street Fighter in maybe 10-15 years (I mean, I got SF5 on PS+, but I only did two matches), but I may decide to jump back in, as long as the tutorial can save me.
@Kooky_Daisuke it is
Max has been at the absolute top of his game this past week in breaking down SF6. All's looking good with the game, it feels like the culmination of the new studio leaders and the improvements they made to SFV.
Think the last Street Fighter game I played was Street Fighter 2 on the Mega drive. This appears to have caught my attention and I'm not sure why 🤔
With soo many videos, surprised they don’t release in 2022.
This looks amazing..the graphics are very nice and its looking slicker than an oiled up jenna haze...however i've zero interest in this as it requires a certain amount of dexterity that i just dont have and i just always get battered and then i just never play it..does look bloody good though..
Looks good but been fooled by capcom with sf4 and learned my lesson (ended up buying 3 versions of the same game). I now know I can wait years to get the finished product as I did with sf5. Thanks to psn+.
@Northern_munkey Same problem here haha, I'm always terrible at fighting games.
There seems to be a beefy story mode though, so I may still play it eventually.
