And that’s a wrap! As scheduled, filming has now concluded on HBO’s The Last of Us television show. Co-writer and producer Craig Mazin – who also worked on Chernobyl – confirmed the tidbit on Twitter, although series creator Neil Druckmann had mentioned earlier in the week that the project was in its final 24 hours. It was also announced that Joel and Ellie’s original actors Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson will both have brand new roles in the show.

It’s been almost a year since work started on the television adaptation of Naughty Dog’s seminal survival horror, with filming beginning on 2nd July, 2021 in Calgary, Canada. We got a new image from the show recently, while a trailer is expected later in the year. According to Druckmann, this is the most authentic television adaptation ever made – it’s going to be big, we reckon.

The game was already pretty much a movie so they would need to try to ***** this up. I will probably watch the first episode and either be bored or angry and after that I will forget that the show ever existed.
Titbit. We're not afraid of say tit in the UK 😊
Can't wait for this show!
"It can't be for nothing."
I'm a predicting first trailer for TLOU day.
Cautiously optimistic but with Druckmann being involved and directing an episode I’m leaning to excited and eagerly awaiting a lengthy trailer. I very much enjoyed the Uncharted movie and found it quite entertaining as a fan of the game series and cant wait to see where the sequel goes.
Calling it the most authentic is quite the bold statement indeed. Let's hope this isn't Sony's Halo...but from the sound of things, everyone involved actually played the game so it sounds good.
So what service will this be on in the UK? Since we don't have a HBO service here do we?
@YeoSprings Sky Atlantic I reckon, on a Sky package and Now TV.
After Uncharted, it's hard to get excited for another Sony franchise adaptation. I know it's a series this time, and the game devs seem much more involved, so I'll stay just a bit optimistic.
Im expecting last of us to be rough. just be last of us! from davids meat locker to the clickers. anything else is a waste of time. quentin tarantino type stuff.
the ozarks show was crazy they can do it.
il just get back to the quarry. 😂
@Bismarck it sounds like you're already angry the show existed

@YeoSprings Sky Atlantic show HBO series in the UK
@YeoSprings it won't be on anything just like paramount plus. We will be excluded thankfully
@Resi32 oh jeez, here come the Xbox fanboys trying to troll on playstation forums? Can we not just ban people like this?
@Corc11 Why would I be angry before seeing the show?
A lot of people seem to be treating this as if its some garbage cash-in made by Paul W. S. Anderson, rather than a Prestige Drama made by the literal undisputed greatest makers of Prestige Dramas in the world.
Can’t wait for this!!!
@Resi32 Coincidently, I just went to a food website to let them know I won't be eating a recipe for vegan burgers I saw there. Everyone was very appreciative of my comment and said how interesting and clever I was.
@Resi32 if you wont be watching this utter crap then why come on the forum to tell everyone? why waste time if you arent interested, not like anyone cares if you dont want to watch it? stop trolling and move on
@YeoSprings
I read Amazon may have it as a purchase, similar to how Fear th Walking Dead works for Season 6 and 7.
EDIT: Sky have a deal with HBO to show their shows in the UK. So I'd say Atlantic to watch it live and NOWTV or SkyGo for streaming for "free".
I’m cautiously optimistic for this. HBO + Craig Mazin + TLOU story + this cast + ND being closely involved shows they are taking it VERY seriously. Doesn’t guarantee it will be good but has a better chance than any others.
Hope the fungus in all its forms is present.
I’ll probably watch it but feel like tv and movie adaptations of games are no longer needed as games have exceeded that medium. I enjoy a well done game way more than any tv show or movie.
It’s not the 90s and early 2000s anymore.
@AdamNovice I could see that happening, maybe we'll even get the trailer during Sony's inevitable September showcase?
