As a part of the Upload VR Showcase — which preceded Geoff Keighley's Summer Game Fest on a jam-packed June 9th — Kluge Interactive announced its latest endeavour. Final Fury is a first-person/third-person hybrid multiplayer fighting game from the team that created Synth Riders. While the glimpse of gameplay is very brief, we do get a look at some of the combat, and what appears to be some special moves.
"We grew up playing games like Street Fighter and Killer Instinct and wanted to be the first to bring this genre to VR in order to fully immerse ourselves in the fights," says Abraham Aguero, Creative Director at Kluge.
While we of course haven't seen enough of the gameplay yet to make any decisions, the game being multiplayer does concern us just a bit. Many a promising multiplayer VR title has come and gone because it couldn't establish a lasting player base. One of the problems is reliable, continued support. In that respect, Kluge is a studio we should be able to place some faith in, as its previous PSVR release, Synth Riders, has continued to receive content updates, receiving a bevy of new tracks just a couple of months ago.
The game is currently scheduled for a release in 2023, and the trailer mentions that the game will launch on "all major VR platforms," which we can be almost certain includes PSVR2. Are you interested? Would you play a VR fighting game? Let us know in the comments section below.

Very cool! PSVR2 line up looking very good so far!
This looks cool. I'm surprised someone hasn't tried this before.
No interest in this genre of game at all, but good to see PSVR2 being supported.
@get2sammyb Yeah, absolutely wild there hasn't been something trying this idea out! The mix of first and third-person sounds really cool too!
