Update: It's not just the original Spidey title heading to PC. Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales will also be wall-running to Steam and Epic Games Store, launching in Fall 2022. This update comes from the PS Blog, where Insomniac Games confirms that both games are indeed heading to PC.
Another detail is that Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered will include the City That Never Sleeps DLC, so any new players won't be missing out on the extra story and characters.
Original Story: The next major first-party PlayStation title is making its way over to PC, and it's a big one. Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered, Insomniac Games' take on the popular wall-crawler, is officially making the leap.
The studio has worked alongside Nixxes Software to prepare the game for the PC market, where it'll be made available on Steam and Epic Games Store. No further details have been shared yet, but this will be a fairly straightforward port. If somehow you don't know, Marvel's Spider-Man is an original story, with a 20-something Peter Parker already well established as the Manhattan hero. It's an open world action adventure with some fantastic writing, super-fun combat, and a great rogues gallery too.

This will certainly be my last PlayStation console, my PC will no doubt run all PlayStation games by the time ps5 ends
Don’t mind this going to PC after all this time obviously, but it felt somewhat out of place to announce it in a PlayStation State of Play.
This game us going to MURDER on PC. And it's going to make a lot more people want a PS5 for yhe sequel next year
Pretty cool. Most PC users weren't buying a PlayStation anyway.
Was I the only one who got excited for a second because I thought this was Spider-Man 2, then was hit with disappointment when I realized that this was a PC port of the original?
Not saying I'm mad, but that stung me.
Now PC users can mod the original Peter Parker model into the game and get the ultimate version, in effect making both PS4 and PS5 versions obsolete.
Wonder why they didn’t do miles morales at the same time…just get it out of the way.
The PS blog also mentions this includes Miles Morales.

@thefourfoldroot1 Why not? We're just as important to Sony as their PC customers. Maybe even less so...
Only downside to the SoP, Sony shouldn't be announcing PC ports unless there offering PS players content too. After all people tune into these wanting content on their PlayStations.
Interesting, so this year so far we've got:
Honestly Uncharted feels like a June release judging by this, maybe a shadow drop (or near shadow drop) at Summer Game Fest.
@AdamNovice What about people who own both? I’d imagine there are quite a few out there and a lot of them will double dip because of the potential for mods. Besides, it’s the PlayStation ecosystem now, not just specifically the home consoles.
I just read PS blog and it says Miles Morales is coming as well.
@nessisonett PS4 and 5 players are still there biggest market. Imagine if Sony spent a decent chunk of SoP talking about PC ports, the community would go ape s***. It was fine when they announced Uncharted cos that was coming to PS5 as well but in future PC only ports should just be for blog posts.
@AdamNovice You just come across like a bit of a whiny child. It’s a PlayStation Studios game. It was a 30 second trailer.
They should release the pc version of a game when they release it on ps+ extra/premium imho
Great. More reasons for me to regret buying a PS5. Every game on PlayStation is a 'timed exclusive' now.
We've gone from, "Xbox has no games." To,
"PlayStation has no games".
And.. 'Microsoft on the road to buying up half the industry.'
Soon PlayStation will be worthless. Microsoft will buy all the best stuff and Sony will give all their games away. There isn't going to be a PS6.
It’s just the norm now. I won’t be surprised if Sony releases new first party games on PS5 and PC on the same day. It could happen.
The biggest thing about this is Spider-Man and Miles Morales weren't even in the Nvidia leak, and if games as prolific as those can go to PC so soon, you can be sure practically every major first party game will too including Spider-Man 2 and Wolverine.
@shonenjump86 It will, they're releasing Returnal and Sackboy on PC a year later.
@nessisonett I'm just stating that SoPs should be fully focused on PlayStation content regardless of how long a trailer is. PC port announcements should be it's own thing.
@GADG3Tx87 God I hope you don't work for the Samaritans.
@GorosBat Well you were practically asking for it.
THis game one of the reasons I got a PS5. I thought it would never come to PC. nyway, I'm glad it did, as this masterpiece will reach more people, especially since many have so much trouble finding a PS5 to buy.
@AdamNovice
As a matter of fact I'm a highly depressed, Autistic, Epileptic, Partially Blind (will eventually be completely), Half Deaf, socially anxious man who never leaves home with no family (dead) or 'real' friends and gaming is his only release. So, no I don't work for the Samaritans.
When I can see it going down the toilet thanks to lack of worthwhile platforms, services, microtransactions, NFT's and consolidation I think I have a right to be angry.
Please, take my money now. Steamdeck needs more friends.
Looks like the PS5 + Steam Deck is the perfect combo!
Did the PS5 version of the first spider-man includes the DLC as well? Can we still not able to buy this on PS5 stand alone?
@Texan_Survivor It does when you can't by these games separately for those who only want the Remastered version on PS5 and not Miles Morales.
More games for the Steam Deck! If Valve plays it's cards right they can grab some of the Japanese market. As for Sony they are probably laying the ground work like Microsoft to eventually phase out consoles 🤷
@nessisonett I'm going to agree w/ @AdamNovice on this one. The Sony SoP is obviously geared towards Sony console owners, putting an ad in there for a PC port is almost guaranteed to go over poorly w/ their target audience. Why go looking for trouble? And add to that at least 1 other person besides myself thought this was for Spiderman 2 when it started, so it's also a poorly timed ad. Add to that it's too Sony related. If it was Returnal, where no one is looking right now for a sequel, not as big of a deal. But it would still be weird in an SoP.
And really, I don't see anything "whiny" about it, just pointing out the obvious, it's not what people spend a week looking forward too.
Personally, I've never cared about PS games getting ported to PC, the more the merrier, so that has nothing to do with it, port on, but keep the SoP console focused.
I knew these would hit PC anyways, save me a lot of time from finding a PS5.
The majority of playstation players don't game on pc anyway plus pc gaming is more expensive than consoles so sony won't lose too many players from putting their games on pc, yet a certain fan base will try to tell you different
@Subsided my PC won't. Definitely prefer a couple hundred bucks for a console that always works and can play every game for years and years over spending thousands every year just to keep up with PC specs.
Returnal and Sackboy PC ports leaked today too.
These people who say they regret buying a $500 ps5 will never answer this question.
Are you willing to purchase a pc that can cost anywhere between $1000-$2000?
I promise you the majority will say no, so stop complaining. You will have a better experience on a console then a subpar PC. The ones who say the PS5 will be their last console are talking nonsense. They will continue buying consoles.
Its just the way it is.
@Milktastrophe yeah that's not a thing and has never been a thing. Sony knew from the beginning they weren't going to convince PC-only gamers to buy a PS5 from dropping a few games here and there on Steam. As you've said in a roundabout way: people have preferences. And that's perfectly okay. There's no need for hyperboles
@rjejr I think Sony did that to save some money 💵 instead of doing a separate ad for the 2 Spider Man games they add those 2 on their State of Play.though I don’t like what they did too and maybe we should accept it now because the next time they will do another SoP they could do it again too.
I honestly don’t understand the users that consider themselves PlayStation fans but then feel their games being on PC upsets them.
I don’t care if a game is on PC, if it’s on console I’ll play it on console, and if that console is PS5, that’s where I’ll play the game. I’m not a PS5 first player at all, I’ll always pick an Xbox or Switch version over a PS5 one, but PC is the last place I’ll play anything that isn’t an MMO.
@Subsided That's your choice as a gamer/player of course! I prefer consoles so will continue to only game on my PS5 amd Switch.
Dang that actually seems like it's going to be even more detrimental to Sony's PS Plus tiers.
@Tharsman I have both. I think the feeling is it dilutes the exclusivity of the Playstation library. Possibly making less people apt to buy one, meaning less games for it over the long run. That's just a theory in reality, there's no way to know how these "Greatest Hits" games releasing on PC will impact PS exclusive players. The PS5 sells like hot cakes (but how many are from scalpers?) and it doesn't seem to hurt Microsoft, even though that is the reason I haven't had an Xbox since the 360. I can get most of those games on PC. That and going through two RROD units turned me off of Xbox.
Yes! This is great news.
Hopefully we're not far off from a future where all Sony games get eventual or even day one PC releases.
@Milktastrophe that's incredibly ignorant, first a ps5 costs $600 and now another $600 for PS plus every 5 years and that $1200 only gets you a total of 5 years while also missing out on all the great Xbox/PC games, not to mention after 5 years every component is complete trash while a PC may eventually need a GPU upgrade 10+ years later, PCs today last 10+ years easy and games are also cheaper then the egregious $70 price tag of console games, not to mention the vast feature set that a PC has over a console, this is how console companies get you, makes you perceive a lower cost but it's costs a lot more in the long run
@Subsided first of all PS5 only costs $500, $400 if you go digital. And you're doing it wrong paying full price for PS+, 50% off is very easy to find, pretty much all the time. If you took advantage of stacking you'd have years and years already at 75% off. You also don't need to get the highest tier, in fact you don't need PS+ at all to play the best games. The cost of the top tier is completely irrelevant here as that's the cost of games, not the console itself. Everyone spends a different amount on a different amount of games. Buying all those games individually would cost way more.
Then an average gaming PC costs around $800, so already a more expensive entry. Add another $800 every 1-2 years to keep it up to date, so I guess you can pay full price for PS+ and still spend way less than it would to play on PC, missing out on all the benefits of console gaming like playing on your giant TV in the living room.
@Spyroescape for people who buy both Xbox and PS, they've already spent 1000
PC will allow people to play all the games plus PC exclusives and much more like VR, retro emulators etc
@Tharsman if it becomes day and date then it affects the game. Game development is much easier when you're making a game for a single fixed platform and a game is always designed around the lowest spec hardware it has to run on, I can't imagine Sony saying you need a PC with a 7GB/s SSD just to run the game. All that work Sony put into the I/O throughput of the PS5 would be all for nothing.
@Milktastrophe There's zero reason to update your PC every couple of years, unless you're some tech enthusiast who isn't at all worried about budgeting your disposable income. Build a decent PC today with mid-range components, and it'll continue to run games well into the future. I rolled with my last one for 6 or so years before deciding to upgrade again.
In the meantime, you get way better prices on major games (sometimes even leading up to launch), a massively largely library, endless freedom when it comes to controllers, mods, etc., and you won't have to spend a dime for the ability to play your games online (well, aside from paying your general internet bill, of course).
Can you actually buy Spiderman Remastered on PS5 yet? That is the point that would annoy me with it going to PC if its still only part of the deluxe Miles Morales
@Robinsad
Good question. Is Spider-Man Remastered on PS+ E/P?
Great that fellow gamers get to enjoy a brilliant game on PC. And for those of us with both we get mods and far more likely support for years. Best of both worlds, it’s been exclusive more than long enough. Brilliant all round.
“Only for PlayStation” Said the TV advert. I know what you are thinking Neo. Should have got Xbox.
They made their bed when releasing HZD on PC and it was obviously not going to stop there.
I think they should have followed Nintendo's example by keeping their exclusives 'exculsive' to their own platform, but they've fallen into Microsoft's trap by thinking they need to get a few more sales on PC. Their games don't even sell in big numbers so can't imagine the profits are really that high. It seems a bit pointless really, PC players haven't embraced their games and it all it has done is to dilute their brand and the specialness of their games.
If you want to play Sony games then do like the rest of us and buy a PlayStation. That used to be the way anyway.
@TrickyDicky99
Yh, people aren't doing that, especially the people on here who are claiming they will drop the PS console for a PC in the future.
@Col_McCafferty
They released 3 old games on PC in the space of 18 months and have made them almost 100 million dollars. They literally give these games away for free on PS4 but you go ahead and think that their "profits aren't really that high".
@Ralizah i built my pc from the ground up (built not bought or had assembled by somebody else) around 10 years ago and it still plays the games i bought for it brilliantly but it wont play the newest games out there..i'm not interested in shelling out what it would cost me to be able to play them either as i would need to pretty much replace everything but if buying a new console every 5-10 years is how i choose to be a gamer i'm cool with it..whats a top gpu these days £350? A decent cpu £150+ and i'm already at ps5 prices before i've bought everything else...financially more acceptable to me...
@Texan_Survivor It shouldn't bother anyone...it's very different markets and more money to Sony's SP titles mean they make more. We really need to stop holding on the platform holders boxes with such devotion. If anything, be loyal to the developers who make the games.
@MisterXpoSay "because the next time they will do another SoP they could do it again too"
Considering how many of their games they seem to be bringing to PC I'm guessing almost all of the SoP have a PC game in it now. My guess it's less about saving money, more about getting PC player eyeballs to the live stream going forward, but you could be right.
I have no interest in buying a console but my friend said this have is great. I'll definitely pick it up
Insomniac Games said in 2017 and 2020 that Spider-Man would never come to the PC
"it will never appear on Xbox or PC. It's a permanent PS4 exclusive publisher by Sony Interactive Entertainment"
https://twitter.com/insomniacgames/status/879913482845511681
"it's exclusive to PlayStation so it won't be coming to PC."
https://twitter.com/insomniacgames/status/1255271339000283138
Any Playstation fan that wanted to play this game has already played it. Let the pc guys enjoy it. Maybe Microsoft will see this as a sign of good gesture and give us Starfield. 😉
@Ralizah I think the better prices claim is debatable, at least for recently released games. I watch prices quite closely, and brand new releases tend to be the same at least for the first few months.
After that, sales across different platforms makes it hard to judge accurately, but pc prob does have more sales.
pc does have the edge for indie games, they usually get cheaper faster, prob because most come to pc first.
Edit : and for us who still use discs, you can find some bargains in game stores sometimes, sale and second hand, easily beating any digital formats price.
@Balosi That is only true if you stick to the usual store fronts (Steam, Epic, Uplay.... etc). The PC is just simply unmatch when you can go to site like Greemmangaming and buy just about all major releases for less than their console price, and less than the Steam price. I was able to get games like Ghostwire Tokyo and Lego Star Wars: Skywalker Saga deluxe edition for like $45 at release. Games that costed $60 and $70 on Playstation at release.
The people saying they regret buying a PS5 and want to move to PC are going to be in for a shock when they see the price of a "PS5 level" PC. Fact is if you want what the PS5 offers at the very least you're going to be spending a lot more.
