Ever wanted to be the proprietor of a grimy laundromat/retro arcade? No? Well, that's the premise of Arcade Paradise, and the combination of arcade games and light-management sim actually looks pretty great, and it's coming to PS5 and PS4 on 11 August.
You will begin by mopping floors, scrubbing toilets and washing clothes, all in the service of building up the capital required to convert the back room into the hottest arcade in town. In order to do so, you will need to purchase arcade cabinets, and what's more, you can actually play them.
Arcade Paradise will feature 35 fully playable arcade games, and the whole package is wrapped up in a retro 90's aesthetic, with a pumping synth-wave soundtrack to match.
Will you scrub toilets in service of arcade gaming? Shoot for the high score in the comments section below.

Really interesting idea though hope it doesn't take too much work to start building up an arcade. Would also be cool if they had licensed some real arcade games.
@hi_drnick I thought the same thing actually, there is definitely a GTA 1 style knockoff in there that looks cool though haha
Yeah! This looks hilarious, and the best decade ever too, what's not to love.
Haha. Completely forgot I bought a physical copy of this months ago. I think they originally said April release. Looking forward to getting it.
This will be ace!
@Khayl Racer Chaser! Yeah. It's an homage to 2 games (3 actually). I used to work with one of the designers of the original GTA and he always said GTA is just Pac-Man with cars. It's always stuck with me. We decided to just run with that. So basically you're driving around in a yellow lambo picking up cash evading cops. BUT the cop AI is exactly the same as the ghosts in pacman and the power pellets are rampage tokens so you upgrade to a tank. The main difference is if you get "caught" you don't lose a life. Instead you get out of the car and run around blasting cops with your boombox (in a nod to Saints Row's dubstep gun).
@hi_drnick Nah. We want players to unlock something new every 15 minutes-ish. You start with 3 games already unlocked and as part of the tutorial you get to pick the next one. Your first upgrade (from stinky back room to first extension of arcade) comes once you have 5 machines.
We debated licensed games for quite a while but we really wanted to the creative freedom to do whatever we wanted. Although everything looks like arcade games not everything plays like that. We have some much longer games with their own progression systems and so on, which obviously was not really the case with real arcade games, designed to take your money as efficiently as possible.
PROTIP: If you don't want to stress about washing you can put the Konami code into the front end and you'll always S-Rank washing, meaning you can just chill and play games. Also unlocks a trophy.
The idiotic voiceover makes me want to buy it alone
@dadrester That's awesome mate, really looking forward to picking this up!
