Nobody can definitively decide whether The Last of Us: Part I is a PS5 remake we really need or not, but that hasn't put a stop to the most expensive version of the game from already selling out. Available only in the US and exclusive to the PlayStation Direct website, the $99.99 physical Firefly Edition is already out of stock.
The special version of the game includes a steelbook case and the four comic books that make up The Last of Us: American Dreams complete with new cover artwork. American Dreams is a prequel to The Last of Us and explains how Ellie met Riley, the co-star of DLC Left Behind. This expansion will be bundled in with the PS5 remake. Furthermore, there'll be digital bonuses that unlock items and modes early as well as skins for different weapons.
As the internet debates over whether the PS5 remake is really needed or not, with comparison shots already doing the rounds, it's perhaps funny to see the most expensive version already sell out. It proves there's still very much a hunger for Naughty Dog's 2013 masterpiece remade with modern visuals and updated controls.
If you missed out on the physical version, there's still a Digital Deluxe Edition of The Last of Us: Part 1 available on the PS Store that includes all the digital bonuses of the Firely Edition for £79.99/$79.99, as well as standard physical versions at retail. Obviously, you just won't get the steelbook and American Dream comic books.

I think it's unnecessary but that isn't going to stop it from selling loads, Skyrim and GTA V are perfect examples of people still buying the same game multiple times when it's not needed.
This Edition also wont realease outside of NA which isnt a nice move towards Fans outside of America
Could be scalpers again. They will probably pop up on ebay for twice the price.
I really wanted this! Hoping Sony does the rite thing and prints more of these or I’ll have to give into the scalpers 😢
For the same price you can buy a whole year of PS+ Extra which includes TLoU Remastered. I know which I'd rather spend my money on.
Push Square could you ask Sony if they plan to have an 8K resolution update of the Game someday in the future I know the 8K logo on the PS5 box is a marketing gimmick but can you just ask them.
im just interested in the game offline campaign bliss!
@MisterXpoSay 8k? buzz words 😂
What's wrong with people?
@Ooccoo_Jr same here
To have it only be available in the U.S. and on PlayStation Direct exclusively is such a modern PlayStation move. Hopefully, they add more in stock and make it available worldwide soon. I know plenty of people who wanted this and are now s**t out of luck because they have lives to live away from a computer or phone.
Money talks
Dirty cash I want you
Dirty cash I need you more
PS5, slowly becoming my, I have already played that game before console.
I didn't even hear about this Firefly edition. When was it announced? 😔
The Firefly Edition stuff looks cool, but I know I would look at it once then put it away and never look at it again, so I went with the standard edition. If my wife wasn’t so into TLoU 2 I probably would’ve waited for a sale, so to rationalize the $70 I’ll keep telling myself I’m supporting the creation single player games. At least I know I’ll play through it many times. What’s the rule? $1 per hour?
So, @LiamCroft, is the Firefly Edition not available in the UK even digitally? The only edition I can see is the standard one at £69.99...
I’ll just stick with the standard edition once I can finally get my hands on a PS5
Little ironic after seeing so many whine about the $70 standard edition
@IonMagi
They did the same thing with the statue edition when it released on PS3.
You has to try and import it to the EU.
@Fiendish-Beaver It's not advertised as the Firefly Edition on the PS Store, it's just called the Digital Deluxe Edition here: https://store.playstation.com/en-gb/product/EP9000-PPSA07642_00-TLOUPART1DDE0000
To be fair the $100 version isn't bad value IF you were going to get the $70 version.
Evidence that the PushSquare cry babies aren’t the majority?
Maybe…
All I can say is I hope it's worth it to these folks. I was flabbergasted they charged $70 for it and here are people dropping hundreds of dollars on a game they probably already have two copies of. Granted it's an excellent, all-time great game, but a game most if not all of these buyers already own.
I just don't get it but hey it's your money, spend it however you please.
@fido my thoughts exactly. These high profile limited editions always sell ridiculously fast and then flood ebay for absurd markups.
@MisterXpoSay Don't worry, once the PS5Pro or PS6 comes out they will sell us the 8k Re-Remaster for $80.
@LiamCroft
This is good to know.
Ideal, @LiamCroft, Thank you very much. Oddly, if you search for the game on the PS5 under The Last of Us Part 1, only the standard edition comes up then too. No sign of the Deluxe version.
Is there any likelihood of a Collectors Edition inc. statuette, do you know, per chance?
noooo people don't understand, the game will not be good! because someone said it in the comments!!!
@IonMagi It's not available in all of North America. It's only available in the US. I'm in Canada (part of North America) and was not able to purchase it.
@Jacko11 Legit would like to see that statistic, whenever anything regarding exclusives pops up on this site the comments section turns into a Gematsu forum 😂
dont worry there will soon be a a remaster of the remake
@Fiendish-Beaver I probably wouldn't expect one at this point, considering launch is only a few months away. Sony would have wanted a Collector's Edition reveal to be part of the PlayStation Blog post it put up.
Ideal, thank you, @LiamCroft.
Whilst you are being so helpful, could I have your bank card details too, please...
@kejsi-sensei
To be fair most folks agree the game is a masterpiece. The debate is should we or should we buy said masterpiece a 2nd or possibly 3rd time especially when it is already easily accessible? Clearly the people that bought this responded with a resounding "Yes".
I can only imagine tlou part 2 the remake isn't far behind. Should I wait on my tlou1/2 playthrough til the ps5 remakes are out? Or the ps6's?😂😂😅
@Jacko11 something tells me stock wasn't huge, since it's a special edition.
@fido if it's scalpers, it's a dumb move because special editions of Sony exclusives mostly loose value or just hold their original retail price. I assume they're usually overprinted. I often buy one special edition (but not with statues or other big stuff) and can often sell for a profit, but Sony games are hard to sell again. Usually end of keeping my copy because I like the game and would just sell it at a loss anyways.
@Jacko11 Push square is the most anti-playstation PlayStation fansite there is. You can't really trust the mobs' overall opinion on things.
@Milktastrophe it wasn't like that when i first came here but i've noticed its gotten worse and worse recently. it feels like a lot of people are coming over from other sites to comment on certain stories. i'm guessing a good amount where banned from those sites.
The sheep will always be the first to jump.
@Jacko11 Sir you're one of the biggest cry babies here 🙂 anytime anyone including the staff says anything remotely negative towards PlayStation (no matter if is warranted or not) you have your boot on their necks.
Now I have no problems with you calling everyone out for crying just like I have no problems people coming here and "moaning and crying". Let everyone say what they want as long as they aren't breaking the site's rules.
Imagine Ubisoft selling a $100 remaster of the PS4 remaster of Far Cry 4. At least when Nintendo asks you to bend over, they give you Funky Mode.
I'm extra jaded because I don't even like the series, and ND has abandoned everything else to endlessly just make this one series, but even if they remade Jak trilogy at $70-$100 a pop, I wouldn't bite. Even if it was a genuine remake and not a new texture and lighting pack called a remake like this is. Blue Point's got to be laughing their heads off. "Dangit, we could have made Demon's Souls in 6 months with a new texture pack and lighting rig, why didn't we think of that?!"
@Toypop More fun is that Sony now makes their games scalable to 12 core processors on PC with sliders galore, but PS owners have to keep rebuying the game every time they upgrade hardware. And for some reason people think I'm crazy when I say I buy all multiplats on XB.....
@themightyant How is "Only 43% more!" a good value for a metal box, a comic book, and digital goods nobody's needed in the past 9 years?
@NEStalgia I'm right there with you, the price is indeed ridiculous for what it is, but still. If people want to spend x amount of money for a special edition, who are we to say they shouldn't or that Sony should charge x instead?
Well im just going to get the standard version. Already played the 1st one about 15+ tkmes already, but this game is probably one of the best games ive ever played and ive been gaming since 80s. Do we need a remaster probably not, will i buy it definetaly lol. Masterpiece.
I swear in 5 years it will be all multiplayer and remakes
@NEStalgia Nintendo definitely do this and no one bats an eye. I mean did DK Tropical Freeze even have extra content? Before the expansion, MK8 didn't either. Neither did Super Mario Bros Deluxe. Still, enthusiasts speaks with their wallets.
@fido Already on ebay. People are asking $400+
Gutted it was US only.
This is just sad, man. It's not enough to put out Skyrim and GTA V over and over, or Nintendo with all its full priced re- re- rereleases. I hope this isn't going to start a trend, Sony. First the 'Director's Cut' reissues at a full 70 each and now this remake of a game that never really needed remaking ...It just feels so ...nasty.
@naruball True, but I don't think it's unreasonable to call a spade a spade. We've entered this second gilded age of molding the entire value system of goods around the suckers born every minute rather than their actual relative value, and in the modern age where people check the internet to see if their perception is the consensus one, it looks much more acceptably "just the way it is" if people silently accept it. The more people vocally reject such offers, the more other people listen to their inner voice instead of "going with the consensus" and also reject it. It's a bad offer. We know it's a bad offer. And lots of people will feel it's a bad offer and check places like this to see if we think it's bad, too to shape their own opinion. If we're quietly ignoring it they get the impression that they're wrong and it's an acceptable offer, and "adjust" their opinion to accept it. (And more often than not ultimately leads to them bitterly defending it to help convince themselves accepting something they know was bad was good.)
It's the epitome of "sheeple"...but, sadly that is how it goes today.
Realistically the entire point of the "remake" is almost certainly to pave the way for the PC version at console owner's expense, as well as a way to back out of the free PS+ Collection version for post-movie newcomers. That makes it even more laughable. It's basically asking PS users to crowd-fund a PC game in exchange for an enhancement pack for the old game, but better dressed up to hide it. There's a layer of sleaze over the whole affair.
@Rafie People did call out Nintendo for it a lot, though the "Nintendo defense force" goes full throttle to quiet them. DKTF had the infamous "funky mode" (new playable character with a new moveset to make an "easy mode"), MK8D merely had all the DLC from WiU, and NSMBU..I can't remember if that had anything or not. SMW at least had a whole second campaign that I'd have been interested to buy separately at a discount, but not enough to buy the full game again. They usually, but don't always add content and charge full price. Though in this case, not only is Sony charging full price, they're charging MORE than the original full price to match their pricing for new current games.
The one thing that makes Nintendo's almost palatable is knowing practically no one bought the games the first time, so it was only the most loyal customers that got screwed. Which makes it worse if you're one of them, but for "most people" it was a "new game" so I can kind of forgive people for not understanding the problem since so few bought the WiiU. Definitely not the case with TLoU and Uncharted 4.....
That is disgusting, this is originally a PS3 title that you can buy for a couple of bucks and now they are exploiting this for 100 dollars? Smdh
@TomDobo who cares, why would you pay this kind of money? I could go to a spa for 100 bucks and probably have a much better time than paying this much 🙄🙄
@BReal yeah, live services battle royale and remake remasters for 100 dollars a pop please lol
Got to admit, I was annoyed when I saw that was US only and it was sold out.
@huyi As a game collector i care. You can do what ever you want with your money.
Eh I shop at Playstation direct a lot, they do not put a lot of copies of any game on their website on first run.
I really want this version, but I didn't know it existed until it was sold out 😒. I'll hold off in hopes of a restock. If not, the standard physical version will have to do...
I'm really excited for this. Started replaying when the remaster came to PS5, but it felt a bit clunky and last gen. As my favourite game of all time; I'm stoked to get this (but not the deluxe version with books and photos I don't care about 👍).
@TomDobo ok, hoarding, good luck with that 🙄🙄
A similar senario is shadow of the Colossus, I had the original PS2 release cardboard slip, PS3 remaster, PS4 remake, it's worthless pennies now, your wasting your time on something extortionate when next gen comes around another version will be made, this isn't a investment, this is just tat
@huyi Well you are entitled to that opinion.
I never quite understand this, perhaps someone from within the US could enlighten me; if you (in the US) purchase this game as $79.99, is that ALL you pay, or do you have to pay taxes as well? If you do have to pay taxes as well, how much would it actually cost you to purchase this game?
I ask as, at current exchange rates, $79.99 equates to £65.02, which would mean we, in the UK, are paying a pretty excessive 18.71% more for the game than US gamers (assuming that they are actually only paying the $79.99 advertised). When this issue is raised, I often see the claim that in the US taxes are added, but if that is the case, why isn't the game advertised with the taxes included (as is the case in the UK where Value Added Tax (VAT) is included in the advertised price)?
It is already available on Ebay at the low price of €409.....😐
@Flaming_Kaiser hehe I know what I could buy better for 400 euros 😂😂😂😂
@Fiendish-Beaver Tax is on top of that price and varies by state. 2 or 3 states have no sales tax (but might have high real estate tax, business tax, income tax etc offsetting it.). Other states have between 5 to 9% sales tax. On top of that some cities may have another sales tax on top of state tax of maybe 1-3%. So some people may pay nothing more, most will pay at least a few percent more, some in the pricy cities might pay up so 12% more! I think the average is about 6% though if you cut the extremes and average it out.
By the average then, a PS6 would on average cost $536. The 79.99 game would on average be 87, (74.18 at 69.99) etc.
That said we also have gas tax, local income tax, state income tax, federal income tax, real estate tax, utilities tax, the mess of healthcare, payroll tax (the employer gets taxed to give you the money that they got taxed to receive, that you then get taxed to receive that you then pay taxes on to spend....). Idk if it's that crazy in uk or not. Probably. We learned the tax system from you, after all...
@huyi Everything i was to cheap to buy a PS5 at €50 because i dont want to reward scalpers. So this is a no brainer.
@jorel262 You beat me to it. If Sony would have some balls then they would release a extra set just to screw with scalpers. 🤪
@meistergeister it sucks, but I don’t see anymore copies being made. I had plans to preorder it yesterday when it went live and then got busy and totally forgot about it. They are selling for 500-600 on EBay. That is a ridiculous amount of money. I don’t want that steelbook bad enough. It’s just simply not worth it. Maybe if it was a really nice statue or something, but not a steelbook.
@MisterXpoSay
Is there even a tv or monitor on the market that even displays true 8k and if so what kind of content even uses it? Most media doesnt even do 4k yet.
@Flaming_Kaiser yeah, what a joke. It’s not going to come from me for sure. Some other idiot will come along and pay that money. I could get one right now on eBay for $500. The price of a PS5. 🤬
@Flaming_Kaiser what? 50 euros? Was it stolen? Lol
I'm still in disbelief gaming from major companies, ok, mostly just Sony and Nintendo, had descended into sneaker culture of producing tiny amounts of artificially scarce limited things intended for scalpers to look like high demand luxury items.
It's a video game, not signed original art prints. They could have preorders in the millions and print enough to fill them all.
But what's more sad is that anyone wants to pay $100 for a "limited edition" of a 9 year old game, no matter how beloved that game is. It's like the WATA scam only officially sanctioned.
Thank you for the detailed response, @NEStalgia. And I can confirm, we get taxed on absolutely everything here too. Right now, petrol has hit £2.00 (about $2.40) per litre (so roughly $10.80 per gallon), most of which is made up of taxes. It's frankly ridiculous...
@huyi No €50 extra on the price. 🤪
@Fiendish-Beaver sheesh, hopefully you have useful transit unlike us over there so so commuting to work doesn't cost like $50 a day!
@Flaming_Kaiser I'll sell you a Wii U for $50. It's pretty much the same thing, right?
If it got picked up by resellers/scalpers , I hope no one buys off them.
@NEStalgia cool Offer but i have way to much games and not enough time so a new console would make even more desperate for time.
@NEStalgia you seen what collectors usually buy and get in their overpriced collectors editions filled with tat? 4 fully comics, and a steel book (plus the useless digital *****) is better than many of them. Not that ANY of them Interest me personally.
@themightyant lol yep. I'm convinced "collector" is just an excuse for a compulsive disorder. It's getting far past making sense. These aren't mint coins, rare stamps, or numbered, limited prints. It's an artificially scarce mass produced consumer product. In 10 years it'll be on Antiques Roadshow with owners stunned it's worth five bucks and a can of Spam
I used to do LEs15 years ago when it was new and seemed special. It's just pure exploration of a psychological disorder now and it's sad and cruel when you think about it.
@NEStalgia to me the absolute worst are the £10/$10 more digital editions with worthless, unsaleable, digital tat that often unbalance a carefully balanced game by unlocking things early. They’re created by marketing and definitely designed for those who have a spending problem and have to “have it all”.
While I’ve been scathing of collectors editions - and there IS a lot of plastic rubbish - there are also a few lovely things like Art books etc. and at least something physical you can look at that brings you joy… If you like that sort of thing.
Moreover some of them really do hold their value or more. I was recently rebuying Xenoblade Chronicles 1 & 2 to play the DLC before XC3 (it all connects) and saw the collectors editions are now going for £250-£500+. Even the games are at a premium, the second game alone is selling for £50-£100. I paid £39.99 at launch.
Lastly while I’m not usually a fan of gaudy special consoles I have owned a couple that have paid off. E.g. I owned the Zelda edition Wii U, as I bought it when Wind Walker came out, yet when I sold it I was able to buy both a Switch and BOTW with the proceeds. Definite Win. Similar with a Zelda edition DS that paid for my 3DS and a few games. There is a market for SOME of this stuff.
Ultimately people are free to do what they want their own money, even if in our eyes they are being suckered
@SuperPotato316
It was a joke on the phrasing, nothing more.
There is no Hunger. It is scalpers hoping that there will be.
@Juanalf and this is where you are completely wrong. I have only stood ground when they complain unnecessarily and unwarranted.
If PlayStation is being dumb i’ll be the first to call them out, but when people are being entitled babies and saying e.g. TLOU Part 1 Remake doesn’t look as good as Final Fantasy 7 Remake, when one is 9 years old and the other came out in 1997, then it’s completely justified.
Please check yourself my good sir.
@NEStalgia Haha, no. Outside of London our transit system is absolutely terrible. In most areas of the country we have no choice but to travel by car. The cost of living here is getting ridiculous. £70 games are/ are becoming a luxury most cannot afford.
I don’t get the ‘there’s no need’ people.
By the time the game gets out it’ll be 9 years old! Almost a decade.
Compare Uncharted 1 to Uncharted 4 that’s 9 years as well, but those games are incomparable.
I’m more intrigued by the firefly edition, because of the comic books & hope it comes to the uk. I already own the PS3 & PS4 version so that is tantalising.
@MattBoothDev U-S-A , U-S-A !
@Fight_Teza_Fight Get the deluxe edition instead. You can just buy the comics, as they're already out and steelbooks can be found on eBay post-launch, if you like them. I personally don't, they get scratched :/
@Ryany Nothing is wrong with people? People want this remake and they are prepared to buy it.
Why should you be the judge of how people spend ther own money?
@Titntin because its £70 for a remake it has an impact on the rest of the industry. Its greed from Sony xbox offer first party games on gamepass at no extra charge. They should at least be a discount for people who already own the ps4 version. People are losing jobs & the cost of living is going up. Don't try & defend this.
@Ryany So i assume you are as outraged by resi 4 being remade?
Theres nothing to 'defend' here at all. Selling a remake is hardly new ground.
They are offering a product some people want, and despite your outrage, thats not something I see as unreasonable.
@NEStalgia think you're being a tad harsh. This edition specifically does have a set of four comics which some people are in to. And as comics run about 3.99-4.99 a pop these days (that's not even talking limited variants) the added price doesn't seem unreasonable. Plus, the remaster came out in 2014. In 8+ years time you don't think there's not some new players who could benefit from a refresh? I know I look back at some games today I never got into and for some it's just too late; they look and feel too dated. And contrary to what everyone is remembering, TLoU is looking a little rough in comparison to what's on offer now. It's playable but of course it could look and play better.
In any case, I know I don't have too much of a problem buying the standard edition. The only copy of TLOU I ever owned came with my PS4 so actually buying the game outright (especially a greatly improved version) for the first time seems fine to me. I doubt I'm the only one in a similar situation.
@Titntin no because it looks like a completely different game plus it's much older. It looks like a remake. The last of us looks like a remaster.
@Titntin there no outrage hahahaha I don't care about games enough. It's a pass time. I just think £70 is asking alot considering they have already released a remaster of a game that's not exactly old. Should have been on the new playstation now
@Ryany Im sympathetic with your viewpoint, but to me its just another remake and we have seen a lot.
From what Ive seen, this has been rebuilt from the ground up,and is not just a reskin, and I cant deny I will no doubt buy this. But im not sure it should be £70. I realise im fortunate in that its not of much consequence to me.
... Yeah would have been such a great launch for the new service, and much better value!
FIREFLY edition only available in America kinda unfair for fans outside of USA
@Ryany not really greed
@huyi u do know the $100 version isn't the only version and it's a complete remake from ground up on ps5 only
@themightyant @zupertramp The $100 edition is a rip off enough, but I'm largely ok with it vs 70. (I'm not at all ok with 70 for a remaster of an already remastered previous generation game that already looks great)
The main issue is these aren't intended to sell for 100. They're intended to sell for 400-1k on ebay to people with a problem. It's an extension of loot boxes and whales. It's like selling bets to a gambling addict so inflated prices. They'd have made unlimited copies for orders if the price on offer was the intended price.
When LE was new it was more special like that wind waker console etc. But it's so saturated now and so arbitrarily limited compared to demand that it's clear what the aim is and what the market is. What does the mfr get out of limited sales and eBay inflation? Marketing! Prestige! Things money can't buy.
Even at the MSRP there's a lot worth complaining about here, bit the artificial scarcity issue is just a whole other level. I still blame Nintendo mostly, they started the mess.
As for if you needed this remake at any price. It's already remastered. It's a last/current gen game that already looked better than many. The improvements aren't really substantial for the consumer (yeah they put a lot of work into rebuilding it for a new engine and I guarantee you that's all about PC, selling that at full price to console players is egregious). I really don't think newcomers needed a $70 remake of an already great looking game that is literally free with new consoles.... And it means the old version ducks out of sales where it was $10 often. I presume they'll delist it. It's not an update. It's the classic Disney maneuver to reset pricing to max value at regular intervals.
@Jey887 Yeah, I mostly always assume the UK is mostly a mirror of the US and get surprised on areas where it's not. It's two different evolutions of the same broken base
@MattBoothDev Yh that’s a good shout I’m hoping Sony release this outside the US. The different regions usually operate separately so I’m hoping an announcement is incoming.
@NEStalgia idk just seems like the (first) world is full-time selling crap no one actually needs. Like yeah, do I absolutely need this? Of course not but I'd love to play it again with improved mechanics and graphics. Because I thought that's what this whole thing was all about. Or why else is half the world clamoring for a PS5? I don't think it's so they can play a decent enough PS3 remaster off their Plus Collection?
But I'm not gonna lie I am a little disappointed they've decided to charge the price of a brand new AAA game. I think 49.99 seems more fair.
How many microtransactions are going to be added to this post release?
I assume a few as the $100 firefly version already comes with several skins and component packs...
Scalpers buying all these up.
Crazy times we live in...myself personally I won't be touching the Remake until it's $30 New during a big sale.
I've pretty much lost interest in collectors editions. Can't be bothered with trying to log in to try to beat the resellers any more.
Make another collectors edition with Ellie figure, mousepad and stickers and see how much it will sell.
Jesus, gamers will buy anything. 🤦♂️
This remake is unnecessary as it's already been remastered once before. I'm not surprised though. It's been clear all along that it's the vocal "minority" that are against the BS that the games industry has been pulling for years.
The vast majority seem to have no problem with getting fleeced ad nauseum.
Oh well, this hobby is becoming easier and easier to just ignore every passing year.
@Kang81 no one's forcing you to buy this, mate. You could just ignore it, if you feel that way.
@MattBoothDev
I'm aware of that, and I won't be buying it. I still feel it's a waste of resources that could have been used to make something new, or remake/remaster something that actually would have benefited more. 🤷♂️
@Kang81 I think this is like the Uncharted Collection/TLOU:R on PS4 which was clearly used to port Naughty Dog engine to the newer PS4 SDK. This time around, it's porting what was used for TLOU2 on PS4 to PS5.
So, there may be some benefit overall. I'm personally hoping for an update for TLOU2 as well. 60FPS on PS5 is nice but there's going to be room for more
@MattBoothDev
I mean it's cool to get a remaster of TLoU, but it still looks great. I'd have been fine with some updates like 60fps and such. It just seems like a waste of effort to me. But I'm obviously wrong going by the sales already.
I just have so many more games I'd have chosen to get remade over TLoU. Particularly a bunch of PS3 games since they're unfortunately locked to that system seemingly forever.
@Kang81 Naughty Dog PS3 games? Or do you mean you'd rather Sony put the money into a remaster elsewhere? I suspect Naughty Dog have a level of financial and creative freedom at this point.
I can think of a few PS3 games that need bringing over. You'd hope they'd use some of their PS Now money to start porting titles to PS5
@MattBoothDev
One would hope, but Sony doesnt seem interested unfortunately.
Elsewhere? Most of Naughty Dogs games have been remastered. Aside from Crash/Jake & Daxter. I'd love full remakes of the Jak and Daxter trilogy.
I was thinking of a remastered Resistance: Fall of Man Trilogy. Only the 3rd game is even playable on PS Now...err...PS Plus Premium?
I'd also love full remakes of the original
God of War trilogy.
I'm not a big Metal Gear fan, I did really enjoy MG3: Snake Eater and most of MG4, which seems forever stuck on the PS3.
Even some remasters just to bring them out of the PS3 prison. Like the Sly Cooper collection, the Ratchet and Clank Future games, Killzone 2 & 3, 3D Dot Game Heroes, Folklore, Echochrome, etc.
Honestly, backwards compatibility would fix most of these issues, Sony really screwed up with the PS3 despite the great things about it. The cell processor was more of a hindrance to the PS3 than anything. It still is. 😑
@Kang81 some solid choices there. Just to pick out, Metal Gear Solid 2 & 3 are seemingly stuck on the PS3 and PS Vita as well. The PS3 version locked to 720p, which looks bad on my 4k TV. Metal Gear Solid 4 also could definitely do with a remaster.
I've still got my PS3, with a 250GB SSD installed. It was still in use alongside my PS4 until I got a PS5 and then both went in the cupboard. There's still loads of PS3 games I never got to play at the time (I didn't get a PS3 until The Last of Us was released, was a PC only gamer until that game changed my mind). But streaming them on PS Now is horrible.

Yeah, I have lots of PS3 games to finish. I packed it away not long after the PS4 released. I just don't have the room to have more than 3 consoles out with my setup. So it's the PS5, Series X, and Switch.
@Kang81 I thought I was going to overheat my PS5 by having a crowded cabinet but it turns out not to be the case. I may put it back under the TV 😁
@MattBoothDev
That's horrifying! Normally I would worry about things like that to a point, but could begrudgingly replace the console. With the PS5 still being nigh impossible to aquire, I dread anything happening to mine as it would be too hard to replace.
