The latest UK bestsellers list is in, telling us which games people have been buying in brick and mortar stores. One new release, The Quarry, arrives at number four on the chart, selling most copies on PS5 or PS4. Combined, the platforms command an 84 per cent share of the title's debut sales. We would say that Game Pass is affecting physical sales again, but Supermassive's latest isn't on the service just yet. Perhaps Until Dawn fans on PlayStation are showing their support.
Elsewhere, Horizon Forbidden West moves down a couple of spaces, now in third, while LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga overtakes it to grab second. FIFA 22 has been knocked down a few pegs, now residing in seventh. Similarly, Sniper Elite 5 has also moved down, slipping into the shadows at number 12. Other games that've fallen from the top 10 are Gran Turismo 7, moving from 10th to 14th, and WWE 2K22, which tumbles from seventh to 26th.
Here's the latest top 10 in full.
UK Sales Charts: Week Ending 11th June 2022
- Mario Strikers: Battle League
- LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga
- Horizon Forbidden West
- The Quarry
- Nintendo Switch Sports
- Kirby and the Forgotten Land

I believe most gamers on Xbox just wait untill its on gamepass.
I am surprised that Quarry actually made it to the 4th spot. It's just so bad.. That studio is not improving at an alarming speed.
@Flaming_Kaiser
I think it’s more that if you like discs it’s more likely your on PlayStation. Xbox is all about digital now. Even with disc they need online check.
What it shows is GP subbers will be less and less prepared to make a physical game purchase. But I think we need to see more data on that trend to confirm my thinking. Callisto Protocol as an example or Resi 4 remake theres no reason either of these titles shouldnt sell well on both xbox and PS so if again Playstation steals 80% of game sales my point stands and 3rd party publishers will be far less inclined to release on GP day 1, which I think was already exemplified in their showcase.
I loved the quarry, although I found the story and lore of Until Dawn to still be the best so far.
Playstation is a healthy ecosystem that users are willing to spend money to get new experiences. We could say that a big part of them are game-philes.
@zebric21 What is new about Horizon, Quarry and FIFA?
@Shakybeeves
It’s not always about GP. There’s too much fuss about that. The facts is half Series are digital for one. Second aggressive DRM on Xbox makes disc a lot less appealing. Callisto Protocol I will buy day 1 on disc 👍🏻
Good news, I'm really enjoying The Quarry so far (would be kool in VR). Mario Striker is on the shelf but I haven't started it yet!
@Bismarck What is new about apple and their products? They just sell to a very loyal fanbase...
bought mines physical only way to roll with a game this awesome!
@zebric21 geez apple go android=FREEDOM 😂🙌
@Mad001 always android bro..but my point is that sony is alot like apple.
@Bismarck is that in your opinion or are you talking consensus? We just had an article with some very positive reviews.
@zebric21 overpriced with little to no innovation? Yeah, no.
@Bismarck That's a matter of opinion, not fact, really.
Good to see HFW up there.
I bought it on day one, played about an hour 9n saturday, then yesterday played from about 10am till 5pm and i had finished it. I really enjoyed it will do another run at somepoint. Honestly think i should have waited for a sale. I enjoyed it but think i prefer until dawn.
@Bismarck really it’s not it’s easily their best game since until dawn and it’s reviewing really well
@JJ2 xbox gamers are there for cheap software. Games pass devalues games so even those who do buy still think twice before spending.
I have a series x... but ive never bought a game for it. I buy on ps and use xbox for gp only. Im obviously not the only one.
@zebric21 i see that mention xbox and lol
Love to see horizon with those legs one of the best games this year probably my goty and so deserved
@JJ2 So its forced always online no ownership whatsoever no wonder people choose for Gamepass. Or physical on Playstation what a joke.
@Bismarck Whats new about Mario, Metriod, Battlefield, Zelda, Forza, Halo, Assasins Creed, COD should i go on. Horizon is really young IP just two games are released its fun and they really improved on the game. Quarry looks fantastic and i guess people really like to play these games their first game on PS4 is still mentioned as a classic everywhere .
@Flaming_Kaiser
Went to Amazon today to buy it and it's sold out on PS4 and PS5 unlike the Xbox versions. Went in to town and it was sold out on Playstation in GAME as well.
I am shocked Grand Turismo 7 isn't in the top 10. It's great to see Horizon Forbidden West on the list, though. I just finished that game last week and it was great. I went right back to Destiny 2 afterwards and will keep playing that until Ragnarok!
I’m just happy to see Horizon continue to have legs!
Xbox players don't buy games, it's the very reason for Gamepass' existence.
Ah yes, the usual comments of ‘why do devs bother with Xbox, no one buys games there’ when digital sales aren’t accounted for in these and the Xbox player base has by and large embraced digital purchases.
@Titntin
Oh I agree. I just think it’s too simple to bring up GP every time.(it’s barely related in this case) It s the whole Xbox strategy that is digital focus I think.
(I’m not even throwing any stone. Just reasoning about the facts. Why would people buy a Xbox 1 disc when they have to download the new gen game anyway? Even me I wouldn’t bother if the game wasn’t on the disc)
I expect we'll be seeing a lot of Mario Strikers in the UK charts over the coming weeks.
Yeah being a gamepass subscriber has made me more reluctant to buy physical games on Xbox day 1.
But then £70 price tags have made more more reluctant to buy ps5 games day 1 too.
5/10 has made me reluctant to buy this right now though…
@naruball Exactly. It's a 79 on Metacrtic. (81% on Open Critic) One 5/10 Push Square review does not a bad game make. Lots of people have liked this one, but it seems to be divisive.
@Toypop While you're not wrong - i'm also glad to see H:FW get the sales it deserves - it's disingenuous to suggest Elden Ring 'fell off a cliff' when it made 12 million sales in it's first two and a bit weeks. Most games would DIE (sic) for those sort of full priced sales numbers and be happy if they never made another sale. When you massively overachieve at launch there's only one place to go.
@SolaceCreed I can see that the reseller in the end say why even stock Xbox games they wont sell anyway. Its the same with games on Xbox online a lot of times the games are available on Xbox but sold out on Playstation.
I wonder if these articles will ever bother to mention the fact that Xbox users are way more likely to buy digital, and go back to reference the Elden Ring physical vs digital sale numbers. Nah, I doubt they ever will.
@Flaming_Kaiser what most gamers on Xbox do is buy digital.
@Tharsman I know why you dont even own your physical copy so why bother thats another reason to stay at Sony or if have no choice go to Nintendo.
@Flaming_Kaiser MVG recently made a video debunking that, the only problem he faced is smart delivery games that only have XBox One data in the disk and require you to download the XSX version. Same would happen if you wanted to play a PS4 game with its free upgrade on PS5, with the only difference being the PS5 would let you run the old PS4 version.
Either way that is a problem only with select smart delivery games. XSX only games have as much data on disk as a PS5 game.
@Flaming_Kaiser No...XBox gamers have embraced digital in a big way. We've seen this several times before where XBXS sales look poor when you just look at physical sales but look a lot healthier when digital sales are included.
