Marvel’s Midnight Suns will step out of the shadows at Summer Game Fest this week, adding yet another game to Geoff Keighley’s sunny showcase. Other confirmed titles include One Piece Odyssey and Zenless Zone Zero – although the industry host has sought to dial down expectations, hinting the livestream will be focused on previously announced games. Could God of War Ragnarok be one of them?
Firaxis Games’ superhero strategy was recently rated in South Korea and is currently pegged for the second half of 2022, so a release date seems likely here. Is this a game that’s on your radar? I was really excited when I first heard midnight suns was a tactical RPG. Then I heard it follows the XCOM model and lost all interest. 😟
I was really excited when I heard it was from the XCOM developers. Then I heard it's card based and my enthusiasm waned. I'll keep an eye on it though.
I was really excited when I heard Midnight Suns was a tactical RPG. Then I saw the card elements and got hyped through the roof. Hopefully the RPG and card elements mesh well
Games like this are perfect for the Switch. Man I wished Sony still would do portable.
I love both tactical RPG's and deckbuilders, so this sounds perfect to me!
Not even remotely XCOM inspired, just developed by Firaxis.
Unless they've drastically overhauled what the game was since we saw it last year in response to the overwhelmingly negative response, which seems massively unlikely, it's a deck building card battler.
I'm cautiously optimistic simply because it's Firaxis and I'm the easiest mark in the world for anything Marvel, but I absolutely loathe anything card/deck based.
