Sony has surprised PS Plus Premium members with a bonus PSP title that will be included in the service's first Classic game drop since launch. Coming alongside LocoRoco Midnight Carnival and No Heroes Allowed! is Echoshift, a puzzle game that originally launched in early 2010 for Sony's first portable system. All three games will be up for download on PS5 and PS4 as long as you have an active subscription from 19th July 2022.
As the trailer at the time reveals (and is embedded above), you'll need to reach the end of each level before the timer runs out. Standing in your way will be various obstacles, and you can create echoes of yourself to solve puzzles. There also appears to be a rewind time function.
The welcome addition means PS Plus Premium users will gain access to 20 different games from tomorrow once you bundle in the PS Plus Extra offering. That includes the likes of Stray, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Marvel's Avengers, a long list of Assassin's Creed games, and some other titles aimed at kids. Not bad at all for the service's very first batch of games.
Will you give Echoshift a go? Check out our list of All PS Plus Games to get a better understanding of everything you can play on the service, and then prepare to solve puzzles in the comments below.

Where's the good games Sony you'd think they'd atleast have the first party games on there like God of war & ratchet & clank
@Would_you_kindly Technically Ascension and Chains of Olympus are on there… as streamable PS3 ports.
Wait. Now there’s THREE games being added to Premium tomorrow?!? I can’t believe it. Amazing value!
Where's the PS1 games? I know some people like PSP games but atm I'm genuinely regretting upgrading to premium lol like what the *****....I made the mistake of upgrading from essential to premium because it was low price...but still I expected some or more ps1 games added ...anyone know why Sony hasn't added or is it licensing issues?.
@nessisonett I know but having the psp versions would be better for people that don't have a good internet connection for streaming or are in countries that don't support it
@TranslucentEye To artificially generate hype every single month in order to engage customers and encourage resubscribing. Like there’s Tekken 2 but not Tekken or Tekken 3. Also Wild Arms and Wild Arms 3 are on the service but not Wild Arms 2. There’ll be some licensing issues with (funnily enough) licensed games, but they’ve got a crap ton of Disney games across the whole service for some reason.
@Would_you_kindly To be clear, I wasn’t endorsing the streamable HD versions, more explaining why they possibly haven’t added it to the service.
I don’t think I’ve ever played Echoshift. In fact, I don’t think I even remember this coming out on PSP.
Will definitely try it.
Neat-O, But i would like to see some beefier psp games. Show me that beef Sony! 🥩 🥩
I'm gonna be waiting here for Dissidia. Only kind of patiently.
I KNEW this comment section would be critical of this announcement, with good reason. Good on you, pushsquare, for going with it still.
@PlayStationGamer3919 Echochrome is one of the few PSP games already on this service.
Puzzles? I'm in, hopefully free trophies too.
Shoot, at first I was thinking of Echo Chrome that was a brilliant game.
None of these probably include trophies either
Another obscure game that no one one asked for. How bout a cool psp game like Jeanne D’Arc for Strategy fans
@GymratAmarillo probably no trophies. They didn't add trophies to Echochrome PSP, even though the PS3 version does have a trophy list.
And the crowd goes wild!
This is just pathetic. Sony has so many great PS1, PS2 and PSP games that it could be doing weekly or at least bi-weekly drops and instead we get monthly drops and it's all crap. The rate it's going I will certainly not resubscribe at $120. Why even both making a service like this if there is going to minimal effort at most (and I think I'm being very generous with that because what I'm really seeing is almost no effort).
These PSP games don't seem to have trophies, so i could care less.
@Would_you_kindly Much like how God of War 1 & 2,Ratchet & Clank ps2 series, Sly Raccoon ps2 games or Twisted Metal ps1 games would've been obvious in-house options to add to PS Deluxe/Premium,nevermind 3rd party games!
@get2sammyb Weird thing about the entire "Classics" program thus far is the lack of hype &/or any communication about it. There's no point of contact like "what games would you like to see?". Really doesn't help the perception the program was more an afterthought for Deluxe territories that didn't have access to ps now streaming & justify charging for a 3rd tier.🤔
@Would_you_kindly Honestly if I had to guess Sony are holding back most titles so that they have something to add every month for the next several years.
Honestly it's a little lose-lose in some ways. If they add everything to the library at once people will complain that the library is static and doesn't change enough, whereas if they drip feed it people will complain. That's the human condition.
That doesn't mean what they are adding isn't anaemic and disappointing, it is, but I can understand why they are doing it the way they are, it makes a lot more business sense than blowing your load in the first few months and then people dropping the service.
@Would_you_kindly Comes to something when the dead, old Vita still has the best PSP support, doesn't it!
@get2sammyb @stu123 Actually, Echoshift is on the PS Vita store in the PSP section. It's like there was a device that was designed to play portable games.
@nessisonett Disney is not so hard to understand Spider-Man.
